Calibra: A Delayed Taste

Calibra: A Delayed Taste
CALIBRA | CHAPTER 114

About three days after Ibra contacted his commanders in the force, the day they met finally arrived. Ibra deliberately though heavy heart left Audi to Jakarta. He had warned his mother to visit Audi more often, accompanying the girl so as not to feel alone even though she was not aware.

Ibra sat down in front of the commander, staring at the round table that was the separation between them. The cafe where they met was not so crowded visitors, this made Ibra more free to talk.

"So, what did you ask us to meet?" ask the commander to start the conversation.

Ibra was silent for a long time while playing the fringe of the cup containing his coffee. He breathed heavily before answering.

"I want to resign from the union" said Ibra steady. "I'd like to withdraw from membership as TNI."

The commander's mouth turned serious. He who was originally about to sip coffee suddenly stopped hearing the words Ibra. "What?"

Ibra silenced, he looked straight at the commander in front of him. Ibra's expression was already filled with confidence, it meant that the young man was not messing around.

"Why?" ask the Commander again.

"Because I have to do it."

A heavy sigh rang out from the commander's mouth. "Is this about your cousin in the accident?"

Silence has no answer. Ibra looked back at the coffee in front of her.

"Do you have to sacrifice a career like this? Why did you get to go this far?"

It took me a few seconds to hear Ibra's reasoning. "This is the only way I can marry her."

In the end Ibra also revealed the real reason. "Claudia is not only my cousin or family, but .. she is also my girlfriend and future wife. I want to marry her, even though her condition is not okay now."

The explanation made the commander quite surprised, but he was still able to maintain his countenance in order to remain calm. He stared intently at one of his talented members, then asked.

"Don't you want to wait for him to heal first? You can marry her after she recovers without having to resign from the union" she said.

"What a shame, you know. Soon you will rise to the rank of captain. Have you really considered this?"

"Do not make decisions. Just think about it carefully because it can hurt you in the future."

But Ibra still shook his head, very slowly as if asserting without any intention of offending. "I'd feel more at loss if I left him." He looked straight at the commander. "For me he's much more important than promotion. Maybe I used to be very ambitious to get the captaincy title and above it, but now. My priority right now is just him. I want to accompany him, accompany him during his illness and the healing process. That's one of my moral supports for him."

"And in order to do all these things, I had to marry her more freely, and I also felt relieved."

I don't know what Ibra was thinking. The commander still regretted Ibra's decision which he thought was so rash. It was not easy to become a TNI officer, and Ibra instead wanted to let go of all that. Though just one step away Ibra can go up to a higher level.

But it seems Ibra remains serious about his wishes. Indeed, sometimes love weakens a person, including even a warrior who forged unusually strong mental training.

The commander sighed before sipping his nearly cold coffee. "Please think carefully. I'll give you one week to think again. Because after you submit your resignation letter, and when the letter is successfully processed, you can no longer be a member of the TNI."

"Consider this as best you can" the commander continued, wiping his phone and car keys on the table. "I have a meeting with the minister. We'll finish it first. That's a message from me, think carefully before you actually decide."

The commander patted Ibra's shoulder firmly. He passed through Ibra and paused for a moment at the cashier to pay for the order. He then left the cafe, leaving Ibra alone at his desk.

Ibra rubbed her face for a while before moving on from there. He left after paying for coffee.

***

The cleft of the lips trembled softly as if to convey a voice, yet there was no one but silence there. In the end the girl could only fall silent, staring blankly at the ceiling above her.

The pain spread all over the body, but Audi seemed numb because his body was unable to move. His mind was filled with questions about where he was now.

Dizzy, even his vision was blurry. His brain was as if blank was unable to think. What happened before, what he is today, all revolves around other questions that arise.

There's nothing Audi can do but blink. Fatigue and weakness dominate the five senses, as well as muscles that feel like a long time does not work.

Whahuh? Wh why? Hows it?

Who should Audi ask? He's alone now. Is this a special God-given place for him?

Before long someone came in and opened the door. Safa who just returned after praying and was on the phone with Ibra was still unaware of Audi's condition. He continued walking while focusing on his son across the phone. Until when he kept the bag in the bedside chair, his eyes accidentally collided with Audi.

"Yes, Ibra. This is Mami's back in Audi's room, the others are still downstairs. You don't have to worry, Mami will take care of Audi in si .. ni," she whispered at the end of the sentence.

Safa blinked trying to digest what she saw. Ibra's voice that called out to him many times even sounded faint until gradually disappeared.

So focused on seeing Audi, Safa could not hear anything. His body was transfixed with eyes that were slowly widening.

"A-audi? Are you conscious?"

On the other hand, Ibra who heard the word Safa was frozen. He who was originally about to open the car door, was silent for a moment digesting something.

"Mam? Mommy's? Huh hello? Mommy what does that mean? Who's mom talking to?" ask Ibra streak.

Silence has no answer. Ibra's heart suddenly beats fast waiting for clarity. Last .... he didn't hear wrong, did he? Mami Safa clearly mentioned the name Audi, she asked the figure named Audi.

That ... Ibra's Audition?

"Mommy? Huh hello? Mami please answer Ibra." Ibra exclaimed in panic as she heard nothing from across the phone.

He checks the phone to make sure the call is still connected.

"Mommy? Mam, please," please Ibra please - please be anxious.

"I-Ibra, Son ... Audi is dead!"

Like a fresh breeze in the heat of Jakarta night weather, Ibra's smile that has been dim for some time, is now finally able to expand loose, accompanied by full eyes and disbelief.

"Cla?" whiskey Ibra pleased.

"Doctor! Doctor! Sister!" There was the cry of the mother as well as the grumpy sound as the woman pressed the summoning button several times.

Ibra guessed the woman was also happy but at the same time panicked. Ibra chuckled massaging the base of her nose when she felt her eyes wet to cry. And finally Ibra was sobbing slowly, of course he was crying because of pleasure.

Thank you, Lord. Cla, Mas will be back soon.
