Calibra: A Delayed Taste

Calibra: A Delayed Taste
CALIBRA | CHAPTER 02

Audi walked leisurely to the backyard after picking up a plate of rice and side dishes. Audi wanted a quiet atmosphere away from the noise to eat, so he covered here.

Looking at the fish pond from above the terrace, Audi dragged a chair and placed it on the edge of the divider near the stairs. Aunty Erina's house does tend to lean down, no wonder so many stairs that can be found.

Audi stirred up the contents of his plate and started scooping the meal. The cool atmosphere with fresh air seemed to complete the silence. There was still a faint sound from inside, the event had only finished a moment ago, and now the guests were being directed to the buffet.

"Hey?"

A speech caught the attention of Audi. Audi turned his attention to the side, finding a man of quite tall stature, standing half awkwardly staring at him.

"Oh, hi," replied Audi slightly confused.

"May I sit here? Inside the noisy matter."

Audi blinked for a moment. "Can, kok. This is Aunt Erina's house, which I have the right to forbid."

The man clenched his lips forming a straight smile. "Where to know you're uncomfortable. I can find somewhere else."

"No papa here. I'm not here to be alone either. Inside must be full, so I initiative out."

The man nodded, "That's."

He began sitting in another seat not far from Audi.

"By the way, I'm not a citizen here?"

Audi asked so because there could be no neighbors who just glanced up to the backyard.

There may be, but Aunt Erina already specializes in living rooms for family and close relatives only.

"Oh, I'm a friend of Hasan's. You're his cousin, right?"

"Yes. How know?"

"Take a second, Hehe."

For a moment they did not talk to each other because they focused on their plates. Audi is not a typical person who likes vegetables, but somehow every meal at the prasman he never misses the menu one.

How Audi says it, eating at certain events tastes a little different. There is an inexplicable pleasure. Tasty. That's the only thing Audi can say.

"This is Bang Hasan's office friend?"

The man looked up for a moment, "Yes, but we were also one campus first. I'm only familiar with him when he's working."

"Oh ... Like another one from the same place?" cetus Audi a little amused.

The man chuckled while shaking slowly. "Yeah .. thats it."

They both laughed for a while, then continued eating while occasionally opening a conversation. One thing Audi saw from Hasan's friend, he was quite fun in a relaxed way, without fanfare issued a joke that sometimes makes Audi uncomfortable as a first-time person.

Maybe you could say familiar? But everyone is different, anyway. Maybe that's how they blend in socially. But still sometimes Audi lost respect for people like that.

Hard to explain, a pure person joking from the heart with a person desperately trying to look like humor feels different.

From that conversation Audi also knew the man named Fariz.

"Where's the job?"

Audi looked at it for a moment. "Not anywhere."

"Non't work?"

"Work."

"Oh, freelance?"

"Nh ..." Audi thought for a moment before then shrugging his shoulders. "Creator content?"

For a moment Fariz was silent, then he nodded in understanding. "Ah, I see."

"It's worth seeing you where you are. You have a YouTube channel, right?" added Fariz.

Audi nodded. "Yes, but all of my videos specifically contain beauty. I'd have no doubt that Mas Fariz ever watched."

"If girls are reasonable," cheered Audi before bribing rice.

But Fariz's subsequent statement made Audi almost spout back his rice.

"Male."

Audi is a little unsure of its own reaction. Fariz's face was like that. He who heard it was shocked did not play. More than not, I guess.

"Eh, can you?" confusedly.

Fariz chuckled, "I guess you'll be surprised."

Audi scratched his nose half grimaced. "Of course."

Audi just found out from the millions of viewers it turns out there are boys who watch. He himself has not had the experience of taking care of children intensely. Audi has only ever nurtured nieces and nephews who are indeed some of them men. So he did not know what Fariz mentioned was reasonable or not.

He himself had a younger brother, but he was very anti with things concerning women. His nephew also prefers to play cars and puzzles, which he watches mostly animated films or comedy content.

I don't think their conversation was long-tailed. Audi and Fariz are still reluctant to leave the back porch even though they have finished eating. The two talked long enough until the arrival of someone who was not expected before interrupted the conversation.

"Mom! I'm looking for her here. Habits like to hide!"

Audi did not respond to the dumelan. He was more astonished and curious.

"Jeno? How come you can be here?"

"Yes it can be, Ma'am. Jakarta Bogor does not take hours. It's like I'm flying from Surabaya."

"Yes that's not it. You said you couldn't come because of a lot of tasks."

"Allah, a very easy task, can be thought of later. Sumpek see mulu campus. Sometimes healing is not possible. Look at the teabag is no problem either."

Audi clucking. Healing what? Does coming to the event include entertainment for his sister? Gosh, it looks like Jeno's brain is starting to conical so much that her stress lives in the capital.

"Your sister?" A voice interrupted.

Audi almost forgot there's still Fariz here.

"Eh, yes. Name's Jeno. He's in 6th semester in Jakarta."

"Who, Ma'am?"

"Mas Fariz, the friend Bang Hasan."

"Oh .. greetings, Mas."

Fariz nodded while unraveling a friendly smile. "Greetings know too."

"Where did you go to college?"

"Trisakti, Mommy. Medical faculty."

"Wah .. prospective doctor, here."

"Hehe ..." Jeno smiled proudly.

"Who are you here with?" Audi asked.

Jeno looked over and pointed back. "No."

"Mas Ibra, here!"

Audi followed Jeno's line of sight and was immediately transfixed. The relief he initially felt turned into a boomerang. Audi forgets that the appearance of a person can happen at any time.

Just like the plot of the novel that is not easy to guess, the man who he said was not able to come now suddenly stood before him, staring at Audi attached to the net panned meaningfully.

This is their first meeting in three years. Audi seemed to be drenched in cold water when their eyes accidentally met a glance.

Ibrahim Maulana Edzar, the man is still as brave as the last Audi saw. However, Audi is also still aware of where it should place its stance. He could not be as free as he used to be to Ibra because the status of the man now belongs to someone else.
