The day goes by so fast, that it doesn't feel like three nights have Jessi and Nich spending an impromptu honeymoon together. Now the two are again preoccupied with their respective activities.
Jessi will start her investigation. Based on information from Maria, if she digs up again the events of thirty years ago, it is certain that the same events as Samuel and the private detective will befall her. Make the real mastermind re-emerge the trunk of his nose.
Now Jessi, Jackson, George, Olivia, Maria, Patricia, and Alex are in a space to reunite the smallest pieces of information they have.
A detective board is available in the room, looking for possible people connected to the events of the time. The story goes back to thirty years ago, when it all started with the family of Alexander.
"We start with the latest information" Jessi said.
The tense atmosphere was felt in the room. Not without reason, but because the domineering aura Jessi has is so powerful. He had never been like this before, and had always faced every problem casually. But now it feels very different. Jessi showed a sharp eye typical of revenge.
"Aunt Mary, how did Uncle Samuel die?"
"He had a hit-and-run with a sizable box truck the night after Samuel changed our case."
Jessi tapped the pen in hand onto the table, her mind trying to think hard this time. The sound of the knocking involuntarily caused tension in those who heard it in the room. Jessi's quick movement to play the object caused horror like a jumpscare melody when watching a horror film.
Until the hand movement stopped because of a thought in his brain. "Uncle Samuel died in an accident orchestrated by them, whereas he had previously warned your team to stop the investigation. Therefore, he must have hidden the files he had somewhere for the safety of his team."
Maria and the others nodded in agreement. "What, do you know where Uncle Samuel hid the file, Auntie?"
Mary thought for a moment. "If the file was in the office it might have been reduced to ashes, Miss because the Law Firm we worked for had a terrible fire after Samuel's death. To that end, the team disbanded because there was no longer a possibility for us to continue what had been done before."
"Didn't you guys have a house before?"
Maria shook her head. "We only rented a simple house, and I can make sure there is nothing important there. However, if it did exist, it would have fallen into their hands because Tom Evening bought the house to urge me to marry him."
"Shitt, why are they so clever?" Jessi felt deadlocked, information from one person alone would not be enough to answer all her questions. Had he been able to summon back the spirit, Samuel would have been able to answer this riddle.
"Uncle Alex, what about the Private Detectives you hired back then?"
"We were intending to meet at that time, but I who was in Country X could only meet him the next day. But, when I got to the airport, I heard the news of Detective Pannacotta's accident."
The sound of an object falling from Jackson's hands made everyone see it. The man was petrified, he was surprised to hear Alex just say. The change in his expression was clearly captured by Jessi's eagle eyes.
"Is there a problem, Jack?"
Jessi's question roused Jackson from shock. He regained his senses and looked at his nona. "No, Miss."
The lies were so obvious in Jackson's eyes. The man did not want to explain what was bothering him. This is certainly seen by Jessi. He is very familiar with how the attitude of his men, especially Jackson who is introverted and difficult to open his personal problems.
"Sufficient discussion got here. We'll continue tomorrow again. You can come back!" Jessi finally chose to end this discussion. His instincts say that Jackson is also related to this. However, the man immediately walked out of the room without saying a word and simply bowed respectfully to him.
Jackson came out with shaky steps, his mind drifting somewhere. The world seems to play with the destiny of life, he is confused how to explain to Jessi, especially his wife—Alice. During this time the man always looked forward, and did not suspect what happened to his family. However, Alex's statement took him by storm this time.
The tightness returned, the air supply felt thin in his lungs. After leaving the room Jackson headed to the backyard. Inhaling as much oxygen as possible to return neutralizes his burning emotions.
Without her noticing Jessi followed him, and stood from afar to watch him. "Olivia."
"Yes, Miss."
"Take Alice here now!"
"Good, Miss." The woman leaves Jessi to pick up Alice. Although, she did not know what was on her nona mind, but Olivia had no right to ask her superior's orders.
Shortly after Olivia's departure, it was George's turn to face her. "Miss."
"Someone called the base to hire a hit man." George was nervous when he said that. He hoped that the lady would not chop off her head this time.
"Who's their target?" Jessi was still staring at Jackson from a distance while hearing the information conveyed by George.
"That's A–anda, Miss." Jessi turned sharply toward George. However, a second later he revealed an evil smile at the corner of his ripe lips.
"Did Emily hire them?"
"No, Miss. But, a man who contacted us." Despite being used to living under Jessi's orders, George was horrified when he came face to face with her.
What's more seeing for yourself how Jessi finished off her enemies without batting an eye. Plus the training he's been in here, leaves George with no word but 'Amazing' for the woman.
"Find out who that man is! Follow their request and report back to me!" Jessi's sharp eyes were so shiny, as if ready to slash at an upcoming opponent.
It's not my fault for taking your life this time. You chose to end your life.
George nodded obediently, he retreated to carry out Jessi's orders. While the woman steps up to Jackson and tries to speak carefully first.
The sound of pats on the shoulders disperse Jackson's daydream, the feeling of doubt still dominating him made him unaware of Jessi's presence. "Miss."
"Is there anything that bothers you?"
"No, Miss."
Jessi positioned herself to sit on her knees next to Jackson. Although, the man next to her could deceive others, but not with her. A lie that might make him feel guilty for knowing that.
"Jackson," Jessi called out. He tried to talk like a friend this time. "Tell me about yourself!"
"What do you want, Miss know?" Jackson sat next to Jessi, enjoying the breeze while staring at the tigers and babies who began to actively run in the backyard.
"Are your parents still there?" The man just shook his head. "What about your brother?"
"He even died before he was born." Jackson tries to hold back the tightness in his chest as a result of losing his entire family.
If only, he had not left back then, perhaps the result would have been different to today. Jackson will be buried with his little family and will not live for years.
The man lowered his head, trying to hold everything back. However, the feeling of losing a family is not easy. The tightness came back to life remembering the sweet smiles of his father and mother for the last time.
Unknowingly a clear circle dripped down his cheek, living a year without knowing the real events made Jakson feel like a failure as a child for both parents. Also a sister for a sister who is still conceived by her mother.
He wiped the tears on his flowing cheeks without asking permission first. Jessi who heard the soft stuffing could only pat Jackson on the shoulder gently. "I'm sorry if my question hurt you."
"It's nothing, Miss." Jackson rubbed his reddened eyes. There is no point in lamenting the past and simply being grateful for what happened to him now. At least, now he has Alice and Angelina as his small family, giving spirit in times of grief, and Jessi who always guarantees their safety.
"Strictly guard our whole family! Prepare each one of the supervisors for the women, especially those who cannot defend themselves! Including your wife, Angelina, and Stella."
"Good, Miss." Jessi moved from her seat to look for fresh air. I don't know if his feelings were mixed into one when he saw Jackson's pain and also felt guilty for the man's tear. Therefore, he again turned the conversation to a task for its members.
Jessi stepped into the room to change her clothes, then went to the garage with her motorcycle keys. He paused his steps for a moment, pulled the phone out of his pocket to contact Olivia. "Bring Alice to the Light Resto!"
