The fun at the Light and Bannerick residence feels more and more complete with the fanfare of the three adorable breeds that have always been the center of attention. As before, at the Bannerick residence where Laura and Michael spent time together in the old days with the servants always scrambling to babysit their three grandchildren.
Cute and adorable make them an idol since toddler, except Jayden. The little one always chose to hang out with Grandpa and his father who always talked about the development of their business without being interested in his two brothers playing around.
"Why don't you go with your sisters, Son?" nicholas asked Jayden when he saw the little boy who was following him who was accompanying Michael bathed the bird in a cage.
"Boring, Dad. They are like children who have no job. Always playing,” annoyed Jayden while sitting next to his father by crossing one leg. Very similar to the position of Nicholas at that time like a betel on the two different ages.
Hearing such a sentence from a five-year-old boy suddenly made Michael and Nicholas laugh crisply. I don't know what's on Jayden's mind right now, but the boy is too precocious. Until he was able to think critically like a parent and consider playing is not a fun thing.
"What can a kid like you do if you don't play, Jay?" michael asked while spraying water on the bird in the cage until the animal looked fresh.
"Don't call me a kid, Grandpa. Jay is an adult," the boy's protest does not like to be considered a child. But that is the truth. “Instead of playing around like Jonathan who will eventually only get kisses from women, it is better to play stock and collect purses. Isn't that right, Daddy?” jayden said, raising one eyebrow as if he understood all that.
The two grown men laughed and heard the little mouth start talking about stocks, although not mere nonsense because he always played stock behind the name of his mother who now just live to enjoy the results and will continue to grow every day. The soul is not willing to lose in Jessi is very decreased in Jayden and considers all in this world can only be controlled by those who are strong and willing to try.
“If at this small age you all have played stock. What's the point of Daddy's money like yours, Son?” nicholas asked his son.
“Quiet, Dad. There are Mommy, Grandma, and Jessica who like to waste money. They will have no trouble if told to spend Daddy's money that is not how much in their eyes,” Jayden replied innocently as if he knew how much money his father.
The two adult men there can only look at each other with Jayden's behavior that looks adorable and annoying at the same time. It was not Jayden's name that his every utterance could not make the parents stunned by the five-year-old's way of thinking.
They also continue long conversations until the night and do activities like at home. Both Laura and Michael had provided rooms for each of his grandchildren separately as in the Light residence. This is done because the tastes of the three boys are quite opposite in choosing the atmosphere of the room and furniture in it.
Jessica likes white rooms, complete with a variety of gaming facilities in it, while Jonathan tends to be neutral and does not like anything special as long as it still displays a cool side to him. Meanwhile, Jayden's room is dominated by dark, black and navy blue. Because for the boy, this world needs to go through a long dark dream, then he can wake up with a warm sunshine that welcomes his morning.
That night, Jayden awoke from thirst, but the drinking water in his room was running out. The boy went out of the room alone and took a drink in the kitchen. After finishing business, Jayden again stepped up to his room. However, his steps came to a halt as his little ears heard the demonic whispers from his grandfather and grandmother's room he was passing by.
“Darling, your bird hurt me. Why is he so active now when I'm tired of conquering him.” Laura's voice sounded so clear in Jayden's ears, making the little boy slightly tilt his head and digest every sentence that came out of his grandmother's mouth.
"Grandma what the hell is she talking about?" inner Jayden.
A moment later, it was Michael's turn that sounded in the boy's ear. “Don't be wrong, Honey! Although I am old, but my stern is still able to beat you limp and helpless.”
“He tormented me!”
Jayden could only widen his eyes to hear the demonic whispers in his ears from behind the door of his Grandpa and Grandma's room and did not yet know what was really going on. Unknowingly the little boy's hands clenched tightly complete a sharp look in his eyes that showed a disacceptance of what happened to his grandmother.
He also abandoned the intention to go to the room and stepped into the back garden. With his small hands, Jayen strangled one by one the grandfather's birds in a cage without batting his head, while the one hung on the top he took using his tools and did the same to the birds until it was exhausted there was no one left alive.
"Done, in this way no one will ever be able to hurt Grandma Laura again" the little boy said, washing his hands and returning to the room to knit a delayed dream.
In the morning, the Bannerick residence sounded quieter than usual. One of the servants who felt the strangeness started talking to his friend. “Do you realize there was something unusual this morning?”
“No, no, I don't feel that. I don't know I feel like waking up this morning sounds quieter than usual.” The two fell silent and tried to think for a moment what was missing from this residence.
Until a moment later, the two looked at each other with their perfectly rounded eyes and called together. “No birdsong sound this morning.”
The two of them rushed to the back garden. How surprised they were when they saw one by one the cage was empty and did not leave a single bird that was still perched in its place. “Where are they? Did Mr Mich forget to close the cage?”
The handclap on his shoulder from the fellow behind him made the waiter turn towards his friend's gaze. Both of them were equally stunned by the condition of the pool on the other side this morning. Where the water is full of the carcasses of birds floating. “Akh!” yelled the two together causing a stir that morning.
Everyone who heard the noise immediately rushed towards the source of the sound, including the employers and their daughters. “Why are you so noisy early in the morning?” ask Laura to come there.
“That, Mistress,” pointed the waiter towards the pool which made Michael beside his wife instantly angry.
“Who would have dared to do this, huh? CCTV check I want to know who dares to kill my birds,” cried Michael with anger that had gone up to the crown in a matter of seconds.
“No need, Cake,” Jayden said casually while wearing his uniform tie and stepping up like an actor splitting his fans walking over to the pool.
Jessica in Nicholas's arms can only manage to wonder what her brother is doing, as well as Jonathan beside Jesslyn. “What does Brother Jay do all that, Mom?” jonathan asked the mother, but Jessi just put her shoulder down.
“What do you mean, Jay?” ask Michael to Jayden. “Do you do all this?”
Jayden nodded without hesitation. The boy did not even feel guilty at all and instead put both hands into his pants pocket.
Laura who saw the anger that was held in Michael was crouching over to her first granddaughter and asked gently. “Why did you do that, Jay?"
"Because they've hurt, Grandma. Jay doesn't want the parrots tormenting, Grandma. Jay, just want Grandma to live healthy and not droop over." Jay's plain sentence of confession made everyone who heard it frown. What does Jayden really mean.
"Who said the birds hurt Grandma, Jay?" ask Laura again.
"Grandmother herself said last night. Jayden heard it in front of the room when Grandma was angry at Grandpa because his bird was torturing Grandma." Jayden's reply suddenly caused Michael to drop his jaw, while the others could only fold their lips in to hold the laughter. And so did Laura.
"You're dirtying my son's hearing, Dad. Come on, Jay, we're getting ready to go to school!" Nicholas immediately pulled her son away from the back garden, while Laura could only stroke her husband's back while holding back a laugh.
"Patience, Honey. Next time we make our room soundproof." A moment later the woman followed her daughter's son and grandchildren leaving Michael still lamenting the fate of the fantastic bird that died overnight from a mispronunciation.
I don't know how many losses Michael has to bear this time. All of his birds are rare, high-value animals that have been collected for years, but lost overnight by his own grandson. It feels very angry, but it is also useless because actually Jayden is also still an innocent boy who does not understand the activities of parents in the room.
The fate of the one who was greeting this morning was so shocking. Michael could only sigh deeply before finally asking the servants to clean the carcasses of the bird and step away.
