Mission Rey

That day after delivering Maurer home, Ben returns to the hospital to look after his son. Upon arrival there looked a middle-aged woman was sitting beside Rey's bed while taking her son to a joke.

"Ma" said Ben when he saw his mother-in-law was there kissing the woman's cheek. "When did Mama arrive?"

"Just now, Ben. Why don't you tell Mama that Rey's sick?" his mother said a little upset that Rey was the woman's only granddaughter.

"Sorry, Ma. It's also only been a few days now that Rey's been treated." Ben smiled rubbing the head of the son who now looks more cheerful.

Rey is a favorite grandson of Grandpa and Grandma, because the late wife Ben is their only child puppet. However, living abroad makes the two rarely meet Ben and Rey. However, their relationship is very good. Not infrequently the mother-in-law asked Ben to marry again to continue life and mengikhlaskan the departure of their daughter. Unfortunately, Ben is still reluctant to stay married again because he has not found the right companion, also too busy with company affairs.

"Didn't Papa come, Ma?" ben asked again after seeing no one else there.

"Your father still has business. Maybe next week we can come here. Mama came with Nata earlier." Nata is their nephew, the cousin of Ben's late wife. Her mother-in-law deliberately invited the woman to be close to Ben and Rey.

"Pa, what, Papa drove Aunty Maurer to her house?" ask Rey enthusiastically. Ben only nodded in response to his son, while the mother immediately stared intently at Ben.

"Who's Maurer, Ben?" asked her mother-in-law with a slightly suspicious look, lest Ben had found another woman.

"She's a very pretty aunty, Grandma. The person is beautiful like, Mama,” Rey replied honestly because for him Maurer is a beautiful figure like his mother's photo is also good. 

“What's more beautiful than Aunt Nata, Rey.” A woman whose age does not differ much from Ben's late wife suddenly entered the treatment room without permission. For him, either the aunt's family or his real family is the same because the departure of Ben's previous wife makes him a golden child now. 

“Of course beautiful Aunty Maurer. If only Rey had grown up, surely Rey would have married him immediately.” The plain words from the mouth of the six-year-old boy sounded so funny to everyone who heard them. However, it was not for Nata who let out a fake smile, but cursed inwardly. 

"My granddaughter is good at judging beautiful women apparently." Meanwhile, the grandmother of Rey can only gently rub the shoots of her grandson who now looks more cheerful than usual. Moreover, Rey is actually very difficult to be approached by women, whether it is a disaster or a miracle the boy can praise other women besides himself. "But remember, Rey. Not all beautiful women are also beautiful heart. We never know what the human heart is."

For a moment the middle-aged woman also saw the reaction of her son-in-law. There was a sense of unwillingness in the moment the twinkle of happiness that grew the seeds of love was clearly printed on his face. It does not matter if Ben really intends to remarry and start a new life. It's just that there is a sense of unrequited if the daughter-in-law married a woman whose origins are unclear. Moreover, Ben himself no longer has a biological family, so certainly many women who seduce him in various ways in order to achieve the goal of becoming Mrs Gerald. 

And then, before far away. He'll try to bring his nephew closer—Nata— to Ben and Rey. I wish they could fill the void with each other.

“Did you find a place to stay for us, Nat,” asked the middle-aged woman to Nata. 

“Already, Aunty. There's a resort not far from here and I made a reservation. What, Auntie wants to go there now?” 

Ben could only nod obediently and glimpsed his head at his son. "Papa goes first, Rey," he said as he kissed Rey's head like Maurer had done before. 

"Be careful, Pa. Hurry back! Don't dawdle!" There was a sense of dislike in Rey's heart, when the Papa who had just shown his attention was suddenly taken back. Though because of meeting with Maurer, his father is more attentive to him and is no longer indifferent as usual. Ben was even angry before and never said softly or kissed her. However, it seems Nata is trying to take her Papa. "Rey, won't let that happen" the boy looked at his father's departure after saying goodbye.

“What does Aunt Nata want to be Mama Rey, Grandma?” rey asked without further ado to the grandmother until the woman was surprised because her plan could even be guessed by Rey.

“Rey, Aunt Nata is good. She's gonna be a good mom to Rey. What, Rey agrees?” The woman tries to persuade Rey subtly because she does not want her grandson to be hurt if she chooses just one wife for Ben. For him Nata is the best candidate after many women who he had previously tried to get close to the son-in-law did not get a response at all.

“No! Rey doesn't want Aunt Nata to be Rey's mom.” Without heeding the words of his Grandmother who was in front and intended like that, Rey immediately went back to lying down and covered herself under the covers.  She doesn't want Nata to be her mother. Although the boy has not yet felt how affectionate a mother is, but at least he knows which is sincere which mode and only wants her Papa only. 

The nanny who tried to kill him had at least taught Rey a lesson. Not all women love him, Maurer said. Especially with Rey's mischief all this time. 

Maurer was the first to clear Rey's dirty mind, which had previously been provoked even if he was the cause of her birth mother's death, making her hate him. All that teaches Rey, if she has to find the best wife for the Papa also Mama for herself and the answer is Maurer. 

Although Maurer is very chatty when angry like last night, but clearly his Papa is of concern to him because of it, and Rey chooses Maurer if it should have Mama. He did not care about the hot ears of his Papa later if Maurer continued to be angry. For the boy, the most important thing is that he is not scolded like other women who always snap at him to get close to his Papa and pretend to be good in front of the Papa.

“Rey, why ignore Grandma. What Rey doesn't like Grandma comes here.” The woman tried to persuade Rey gently. He knows it's not easy to let Rey or Ben open his heart to other women. That was why he would do everything slowly and make sure his plan ran smoothly with patience.

“What, Grandma doesn't like Aunty Maurer? Why choose Aunt Nata?” rey said under the blanket.

“Rey, when, Rey knew Aunty Maurer?” There was no angry or rude tone said by the woman, so Rey was able to be close to her grandmother. 

He then opened the blanket that covered his face slowly and looked at the old face of the grandmother in front of him. “Barin.”

This immediately made the old woman laugh at Rey's confession as if lifting a heavy weight in her heart. He thinks Maurer has been close to Ben for a long time, in fact, the first step. It certainly hasn't left too good an impression on both of them. “Rey, did in one day Rey know the true nature of Aunty Maurer? What if it turns out he's planning to do evil to Rey and has bad intentions on Papa? Does Rey want Papa to get hurt?”

“Aunty Maurer isn't like that! He's very kind to Rey and can't possibly have bad intentions.” Angered by her grandmother's words, Rey closes herself behind her blanket. 

Maurer is the most valuable thing to Rey. Because his presence brought great hope to the boy and he would not let anyone take it let alone demonize his name, including his grandmother.
