18. Flummoxes

Shoes that tread on marble make a loud noise. Jake rubbed his hair back and began to climb the stairs. The palace looked deserted, there were no servants passing by, not even he saw Mirae's companion.

"What did you come here for?" A woman's voice made Jake look up. Apparently there's Mirae up there, she's hanging out with some servants.

"You sleeping?" Ask Jake.

Mirae landed smoothly. "I'm trying to calm down, did you come here to tell me about Sunghoon?" Mirae blinked her eyes a few times.

"No, I'm here to pick up some leftover stuff in my room." Jake continued his steps.

Suddenly Mirae doesn't like being ignored by Jake.

"You don't feel good." Offend Mirae while stepping after Jake.

"That's because I haven't changed my clothes after sucking poison with Elena's blood."

"Elena? isn't that the name of the girl Sunghoon was after?"

Jake nodded.

"Has something happened? why are you sucking the poison? you should have just let that woman die so that Sunghoon wouldn't have to stick to that damn girl again." Mirae became very upset.

Jake stops his steps and turns around to talk to Mirae.

"Elena's too special to die." Jake's murmuring makes Mirae confused.

"You didn't fall in love with her, did you not say you saw anything while trying to save the girl?." Mirae's forehead folded.

"When I first touched her, I felt that Elena could make me a king. She has a positive servant aura, that's why I call Elena fantastic. But, I realized that apparently I fell in love with Elena more than I felt for you. Elena was able to make my heart wobble in an instant but I realized that I couldn't have it and I knew that Elena was just like you, you guys liked Sunghoon more than me."

Mirae is silent at Jake's words, there is a tremor when the man says love for Elena.

"You can't fall in love with humans." Mirae made Jake look cold.

"Who should I fall in love with? while falling in love with you fellow vampires alone we can't be together." Jake laughed blandly. "I will never force a woman to fall in love with me because it's important for me to keep her in any circumstance." Jake continued, his hand touched Mirae's shoulder and then rubbed her gently.

"You don't have to worry about your relationship with Sunghoon because I'll stop loving you."

His legs were still unhealed, his brown long hair was broken. Elena's face was still a bit pale, she felt a bite mark in her hand. Elena was silent for a while, her hands revealing the blanket. Her legs were still recovering but Elena forced the legs to move and the result was nil. Can't be moved.

"I hate to keep lying down." Elena muttered and turned to the door.

His eyebrows shot up when he found out that Nicholas was on the doorstep. The man smiled and approached and sat down on the side of the bed.

"You want to go for a walk?" Bring along.

Before Elena answered Nicholas had spoken again. "Wear the wheelchair." The impression grabbed the wheelchair and moved Elena to the chair.

"You're warm." Elena said she made Nicholas smile again.

"That's because my fur is thick." Nicholas started pushing his wheelchair.

They came out of NiKi's house to the park near the lake in the back. Elena slightly could not believe that the house she was taking care of was huge. "Aren't you disturbed?" Elena's question made Nicholas flinch for a few seconds.

"You mean hear the vampires? I'm fine, after all he's the principal of our school." Obviously Nicholas stopped pushing right in front of the lake.

"What about you, you feel good?"

The girl nodded with a faint smile. "I just haven't been able to forget what happened that night, let alone about Chika." Elena gulped her saliva and closed her eyes as she started to get scared when she remembered Chika.

Nicholas touched Elena's shoulder and rubbed her slowly. "You don't have to fear El, Chika's been taken care of by vampires." She muttered but Elena did not feel better.

He felt that he was insecure when Sunghoon was not at his side.

"Sometimes it's fun sometimes it's not. It's up to you to live life." Nicholas sits on the grass.

The wind blew a bit hard to make the two human hair dance.

"El~" Nicholas called.

Elena turned her head while raising her eyebrows.

"Do you have a special relationship with Sunghoon?" Nicholas's question leads Elena to think that the man may be making sure to shoot her.

"No, I don't have anything to do with him." Elena exclaims the spirit.

Nicholas smiled with relief. "Thank God, I'm afraid something bad will happen to you if you keep making friends with the vampires."

Suddenly Elena fell silent, she felt Nicholas' speech was not right.

Elena knows that her life is in danger of befriending a vampire, but on the other hand, vampires are guarding her. Even Jake saved Elena.

"I think vampires are good to me."

"You think so? I think they're good to you for wanting something from you, El."

"What do you mean?" Elena scrunched her forehead, not understanding.

"Sunghoon uses you, he wants to seize the pendant you wear, after getting what he wants then you will be killed by him. She was the one who was being honest with me." Nicholas looked at Elena worriedly.

"I can't let him kill you." Then grab Elena's hand.

"Why? Why won't you let Sunghoon kill me?" Elena asked that.

"Because you're my friend, my little friend. I can't let him kill you, El."

Elena wasn't worried about what Nicholas said about Sunghoon killing her. He focused more on Nicholas' answer about 'friends', apparently the girl did not think that the man she liked did not have the same feelings at all.

"You don't have to worry, Sunghoon can't kill me." Said Elena lazily.

"You'd rather believe in that vampire than me?"

"Why are you being such a bitch?" Ask Elena sewot.

"You're the one that sucks El, I'm trying to save you before it's too late." Nicholas's upset.

"Save me from what? you didn't even save me when Chika sucked my blood." Elena's volume immediately went up.

Nicholas was silent. "That's because it's out of my control." Said slowly.

"That means you can't save me." Elena pushed the wheelchair.

He was tired of feuding with Nicholas, especially his feelings were not reciprocated at all. Everything was in vain, the flowers embedded in his heart for Nicholas died instantly. Especially after learning that how annoying Nicholas is when talking about vampires. Elena thinks vampires aren't that bad after getting to know Sunghoon and his friends.

And Elena was comfortable around Jake and Sunghoon. Jake's aura changes over time, and from the very beginning, Elena knows Jake is not very friendly. But apparently Jake is not so, he has his own way to make Elena comfortable.

While Sunghoon knew each other from the beginning, the immortal teenager always acted annoyingly and at will. The two never want to give up, always fight but return to good.

But... Elena realized that she already depended on Sunghoon. The presence of Sunghoon changed everything, Elena did not like being alone anymore because Sunghoon was always suddenly present. Now that he was not by his side, he went on a journey in search of a book.

Without the girl realizing that she missed Sunghoon.
