19. Sunghoon I

Running as fast as lightning dodged the scattered dark creatures everywhere. They are trying to get out of another dimension.

His sharp eyes managed to dodge the pointy spear that shot towards him. Before he finally realized there was a lump of water that hit his stomach until the man was blown dozens of meters away.

Julius is shocked to realize his friend was hit by an attack.

Sunghoon did not hit anything because he could control himself. He ran up a tree, jumped on one branch and the other. His eyes looked down at the soft target, Sunghoon's hands stretched out rapidly while letting out a black fireball. The blob of flames shot through the body of Tryco, a creature in the deepest darkness.

Tryco shouted so loudly that it was finally crushed into ashes.

Julius climbs to the top of the tree following Sunghoon but the twigs trampled by Julius melt due to being exposed to another Tryco's magic. He almost fell down but his speed was very good, Julius was already in a new tree. His eyes were shiny and turned blackish red, his hands moving to make the roots of the tree out of the ground and drown one by one Tryco creature.

The darker the darkness, the more Tryco numbers will appear.

Sunghoon and Julius looked at each other, they came down from the tree and began to create a barrier but failed because one Tryco threw red fire into the hands of Sunghoon. Fortunately he was not a lowly vampire who could die in an instant when exposed to red flames.

"They're too many." Julius looked around.

"Flying up there, we can fight them all. Take out the roots again, I'll kill all the Tryco here." The two Sunghoon hands created a large lump of fire.

Julius locks up all the Tryco creatures using the roots of the tree, the blob of fire Sunghoon makes gets bigger. The two stepped forward and without Sunghoon's cue removed the blob, sending a burst of hot water overflowing, killing Tryco and damaging some trees.

Foolish with plants, they ran towards the gate and just as they set foot on the ground of the Huyl mountains, the dimension of darkness disappeared into the morning light. The rising sun made Sunghoon and Julius panic.

"Dam." Umpat Julius ran into any barn.

They hide from the sun. Sunghoon moved his index finger making a large board cover the window. Both are now safe.

The damp barn was also filled with nests and straw scattered everywhere. Some of the frames were already creaking when stepped on by the rats.

"You need to rest." Julius.

"If I hang up there it's likely that the barn will collapse." Sunghoon grabbed the book held by Julius.

The two of them managed to get back his book, there were so many obstacles and negotiations that Sunghoon went through. Moreover, he became confused about something. At this time Sunghoon became worried, he felt that he had made a wrong decision but he was a person who always broke the rules and promises so Sunghoon did not worry too much just in case it did not go according to plan. His hand rubbed the book slowly but his focus was on the red thread that bound around Sunghoon's arm.

Sunghoon gave a small laugh considering that the red thread would bring about a great calamity.

Julius looked at Sunghoon. "Your burden seems to be getting heavier."

A small smile spread on Sunghoon's lips. "I can't believe that Baj*ngan dare to harass me."

The moon shone on Elena's nursery, a small wind went inside making the curtains sway. The candles that were originally lit are now only two pieces that still emit fire, the rest is extinguished because of a sudden strong wind.

Her eyes instantly opened as the bed creaked, Elena turned her head steadily to the end of the bed right on her legs lying down.

"It looks like I woke you up." Sunghoon muttered softly.

Elena didn't answer. He is still unconscious.

"I think I'm dreaming, again." The girl closed her eyes again but the cold stung her cheeks. He did not close his eyes, Elena turned to the right side.

Sunghoon was lying on Elena's side, his left hand was made to support the head while his right hand was stroking Elena's cheek. "I think I'm dreaming." He pulled Sunghoon's hand from his chubby cheeks.

"You dreamt of me often?" Sunghoon asked.

"Who said, never really." He denied.

Sunghoon chuckled at Elena's prestigious answer.

"You found the book?"

"Well I found it, apparently not as easy as imagined."

"What's wrong?"

"Julius and I almost drowned in the dark."

Elena scrunched her forehead. "Is the book okay? not broken?." A second later Elena grimaced in pain as Sunghoon touched her forehead.

"You're not worried about me? you cruel girl."

"But you're back safely, there's not the slightest injury while if the book is damaged, I can't read it and the stupid ritual you said it won't work." Elena gruntly looked at Sunghoon with her frowning forehead.

He did not answer but just stared. "I miss you, El." Sunghoon muttered making the frown on Elena's forehead disappear. Now the look on the girl's face turned calm.

Elena gulps down her saliva, and Jay forbids her from telling Sunghoon about the carnival night. "I was careless to break my leg during sports lessons." A set of lies created by her.

And Elena started thinking 'Sunghoon isn't a mind-reading vampire right?'.

"You broke your leg? how come? jesus Christ, is Jay not around? so something like this happens." Sunghoon rubbed the blanket. A cast of broken bones stuck to Elena's right leg.

"My broken leg wasn't Jay's fault but it was mine." Elena defends vampire friend Sunghoon.

"Alright, next time you should be more careful. Your body is precious to me."

Elena's mind was instantly unstable. Dirty Mind's.

"Do I want to heal?"

"Using your magic?"

Sunghoon nodded, "But not only spells, there's a way."

"How?"

Sunghoon moved, his two hands were on each side of Elena's body. That man is now above Elena.

"What are you gonna do?" Elena's panicking.

"I can heal you in a way." Sunghoon smirked making Elena goosebumps.

"Stop! I'd rather go to the doctor than kiss you." Elena pushed Sunghoon's body.

The man laughed as he managed to prank Elena.

"Jeez, your face is so funny." Sunghoon did not stop laughing.

"Basic sucks!." Elena threw a pillow over Sunghoon's face.

The girl felt better, her fear a little lost when Sunghoon returned. Yeah, although Sunghoon sucks, Elena likes him.

Considering Nicholas had already rejected Elena's feelings indirectly. He became thinking of his feelings towards Sunghoon.

"Sunghoon." Calling Elena made the man stop laughing.

"May I know why we have to go through the ritual?"

Sunghoon fell silent, thinking for a moment.

"You remember when I said I wasn't a vampire?"

Elena nodded.

"You are the first human being to know my identity. Three more days is my birthday, a hike will happen because my foster father will give some of his strength to me. Long before the magic that was currently in my body, I had great power. The power that might make me overpowered. But unfortunately that power was snatched away and then sealed because as it should be I am a wolf." Sunghoon stopped telling stories to look at Elena who was watching him seriously.

"My mother was a vampire and my father was a werewolf. They married secretly until my mother gave birth to me and she could not be saved. I can tell that my mother did not get the recognition she deserved because my father was a king. Dad hid his marriage to my mom, vampires are cold-hearted but they can also feel pain."

Elena felt pity and sympathy for Sunghoon, without realizing that his hand was already grasping Sunghoon's slightly warm hand.

"I hate my father so much. After concealing her marriage to my mother, she also hid my half-vampire identity. Announcing myself as the crown prince of the wolf and what made me most want to kill him was that I was recognized as the son of his second wife who was a werewolf."

Elena was teary-eyed hearing Sunghoon's story. "It must have been very painful." Elena muttered her lips holding back a cry.

"Now I feel better about being able to get out of the palace for a while."

"You're coming back?"

Sunghoon nodded slowly. "I wanted a harmonious relationship between wolves and vampires, it was all because of my mother. He made me want that. That's why I need to be stronger than anyone. Being the king of half vampires and half wolves." Sunghoon looked at Elena, again.

"Because I'm part of MiX, I can't read the book. Therefore I am looking for a servant who will help me become stronger. And I found you."

Elena was not happy to hear that, there was no sense of pride either. El, knowing that in the end after Sunghoon became king then the relationship between the two would stop. Elena, no longer needed by Sunghoon. And Nicholas was right, that the girl was just used.
