The road to Kristal Hill

“Huft, cold,” Toz murmured while clasping both hands hugging the body.

While Reve, he seemed to feel nothing where Near the snake wrapped around his neck. His feet still stepped on the uneven road that was flowed by the roots of trees.

“Reve, are we not going to break?” ask Toz at last.

“This is not a good place, we will take a break after finding a decent place.”

“Huft, alright,” Toz keep going following Reve's steps in the dark night.

Time passed in the noise of the forest. About seven hours later, the two human children woke up. However, Reve was awake first. Toz who had just woken up was confused looking at the cold expression on Reve's face.

In fact, they were not discovered due to the sweat of the snake that had fused with the bodies of the two.

Without Toz noticing, Near had a crush last night. So that the snake's sweat is attached to Toz's body and disguises his human smell. That is the reason why Reve often brought Near to travel, even though his ability is not just that.

While Reve and Toz who had been lurking on top of the tree just silently listened.

About three hours on the way, they arrived in front of a waterfall pool covered in firefly light.

Reve just silently looked at him. “Reve, you didn't take a shower?” toz asked with a cheerful smile.

“Reve?” call Toz slowly. His body shook and could not look back.

“Bruagh!” the sound of a loud water wave due to a big hit. Unknowingly, Toz looked back and saw Reve decapitating a giant snake with two slashes.

“Looks like my body is stiff,” Reve is relaxed as if nothing happened. Though now his feet are stepping on the body of a giant snake that has been floating lifeless.

“Ka-you,” murmured Toz stammering.

“Looks like the scent of his blood stuck in my body,” says Reve dropped his body backwards. He drowned for a while before finally waking up again to the surface.

“What do you see?” tenya Reve on Toz.

The young man still could not escape the sight of the snake that was lying without a spirit on his body. Before long, Reve got up from there and made a camp by the pool. Reve burned five fish out of nowhere.

“You're amazing,” shriveled Toz suddenly.

His body was still wet, without a doubt he was wearing clothes in front of Reve casually.

“I thought my heart would come out when I saw you slashing the snake,” Toz turned to look at the corpse of the snake that was still floating.

“You're just a coward, that's it.” Reve turned the fish he burned.

“You even got fish,” Toz helped flip other fish.

“Near? The snake?!” toz asked with a still incredulous expression.

“Ya.”

“Hah!” Toz looked fixedly at the snake that looked arrogant in his eyes. Winding her body over Reve's bag and glancing cynically at Toz with her annoying eyes.

“Can't you stop insulting me?” ketus Toz finally.

“No, because this is my mouth,” Reve took one fish and blew it.

“Ya.”

Toz's face immediately turned irritated at Reve's senseless rant that was thrown from his ugly flat face. “Who likes you too?!”

Reve ignored and chose to give the fish he held to Near. The snake ate it voraciously, making Toz unable to take his eyes off. “Is this snake always with you?”

“Yes,” Reve gently stroked the head of the snake.

“He looks like your son,” chirps Toz eating one of the grilled fish.

“Child yes,” Reve looked at Near with a smile. It immediately pierced Toz's eyes as it felt strange with the scene in front of him.

“I want to keep animals. At least I won't be lonely in my sleep.”

Reve did not respond, a moment later he said something unexpected. “As soon as you get to Crystal Hill, make sure what you hear doesn't come out of your mouth. Or you'll die saying it,” Reve suddenly said.

Toz immediately gulped roughly at the fish in his throat. “Yes-that I heard? About what?”

“Everything, about anything you've heard and known. You know Toz? This world is so cruel, even a single word can make a life worthless,” Reve's expressionless face is unmoved from Toz's likeness. Making the stared at become unfocused his view.

On that long night, the two no longer spoke after Reve's last words. However, it managed to mess with Toz's mind where they returned to the long journey to the Crystal hill which awaited the arrival of its messengers.
