Demon Laws
Chapter 12: The Order of the Demon Knights

Tonight, Joline didn't go far. He brought the bull warrior and archer to roam outside this city for a long time. Even though both of his subordinates thought that they should leave this unlucky place immediately, Joline had other plans. With a doubtful look, he sat hugging his knees and looked at the moon all night.

The next morning, Dewey's entourage began the journey, but added a ox-carriage to the back of their carriage. The chariot contained witches tied up like a sock. The poor witch looked tired and all over her body was wet, as Dewey's subordinates did the task Dewey had directed well. Dousing the witch with cold water every few moments, should not let her have a chance to sleep or meditate to recover spiritual power.

Mr. Dewey read the book on the train as usual, it seemed like he was very interested in reading.

A well-made horse carriage hardly feels shaky when passing uneven roads. Dewey comfortably lay on a soft thick velvet blanket curled up, reading while thinking. But he was disturbed.

Someone knocked on the window, and then Sia's voice seemed troubled. “Young Master, um.. there is one thing that should trouble you.”

Dewey opened the window and found Sia who was knitting an eyebrow. He was riding a horse today. He rode the horse side by side with the carriage, bowed on the horse then said, “Young Master, some people in the beer shop yesterday kept tailing behind.”

Dewey. He poked his head out and looked back. And right, about a hundred steps behind their entourage, the long-legged girl in the tavern yesterday brought her two subordinates, the bull warrior and archer, each riding a horse, tailing from afar.

The other Knights of the Rollin family who were outside the carriage, tried to hold back a smile with an ambiguous expression upon seeing that.

The girl came out of the small employer's room yesterday. May the little master succeed in conquering the girl? She falls in love with a small employer so reluctantly leaves? Ha ha's….

But the knights did not dare to show a mocking smile in front of the master.

Dewey pondered for a moment before saying, “Stop. Call the girl here.”

Joline had been following Dewey's train all morning. His mind's a little fucked up. He himself did not even know why he was following Dewey.

Is it because you can't let go of that poor witch you captured? Seems like no, Joline doesn't care about the dead man's life.

The carriage in front suddenly stopped, then two knights riding horses came here.

“Nona, our Master would like to meet you. Please come with us.”

Considering this leggy girl might have ‘dark relationship’ with her little employer, the knight tone became more polite.

Joline was a bit confused but nodded and followed the knight reflexively. The two friends were somewhat suspicious, more worried, but kept following.

“What are you following me for?” Without getting off the carriage, Dewey simply opened the door and looked at the girl who arrived in front of him with a horse.

Joline came down from the horse and bit her lip. Suddenly, the matter he had been thinking about all night had found an answer.

Wh why? Maybe because of seeing the devilish smile that again appeared on the face of this child.

“I...” Joline stood on the side of the carriage. He inhaled a deep breath, then knelt one foot next to the Dewey carriage, lowered his head and said in a serious tone. “I am Joline Moon, willing to be your loyal subordinate. For the remaining decades of my life, I will keep my vows today with my blood and my life. Merely, are you willing to accept my loyalty?”

Dewey was silent for a moment. He looked at the girl kneeling one foot in front of the carriage, then opened her mouth. “Why do you want to devote yourself to me?”

“I don't know.” Joline said her heart. “Maybe you're right, I'm too tired. A girl is defending all this. I already felt that my capacity was far from enough. Maybe I need to find a tree that can be used as a backrest. I'm willing to be a living bush relying on trees.”

“Do you think that I am a suitable tree?” dewey smiled.

“Ya.” This time Joline answered quickly. “Although I don't yet know what His Majesty's identity is, you give me the feeling that you are definitely not an ordinary person. Or you are destined to be an extraordinary person.”

Dewey asked as if he didn't care. “Um, Milord...” Fortunately, Sia - who used to be a horse-eater, is now a master steward, learning a lot before being promoted. He had memorized at least some rules and traditions that had to be learned. “Sir, you are the eldest son of Earl. Even if you cannot inherit the title of Earl, under Imperial law, you can get at least the title of Baron. And the authority granted the imperial law to nobles like you, you can recruit ten honorary knights of your own.”

“Thank you.” Dewey touched his nose. “Only ten, yes. Although reduced by one, knights can also be accompanied by bodyguards, right? A knight could have several bodyguards. In that case, the honor knights plus the knight guards, totaled to be dozens of people. Not a little bit too.”

After obtaining affirmation from Sia, Dewey massaged the temple then smiled at the girl in front of him. “Alright, I accept your devotion. From now on, I give you the honorary knight title. You are the first person to be awarded the title of honorary knight. Female knights anyway.”

Joline somewhat did not dare to look at Dewey's smile, she lowered her head and said in a low voice. “Thank you. There's one more thing. Since I've devoted myself to you, please tell me about Mr.”'s identity

“Oh, I'm Dewey Rollin, eldest son of Earl Raymond, vice president of the imperial high command, current head of the Rollin family.” Dewey smiled then continued saying, “I almost forgot. I have a famous nickname in the imperial capital. They all call me ‘idiot’.”

“I-Idiot?!” Joline's eyes are breaking.

It's strange! This kid's an idiot? If he was an idiot, then there were no geniuses in this world. If he's an idiot, then most people in the world are mentally retarded.”

Joline did not dare to smile, immediately stood up and pointed at her two subordinates. “Dear Lord, these two are my friends. Their name...”

“No, no, no.” Dewey interrupted impolitely. “Sorry, I'm less interested in their names. After all, you've heard of the number of honorary knights I can recruit. Only ten. I won't waste that title. I plan on leaving some titles to recruit paladins or great swordsmen.”

Dewey did not even glance at Joline's two subordinates.

Joking! The bull warrior was only slightly stronger, whereas the archer, huh, could be recruited easily. Even this female knight. Were it not for her being a beautiful woman with long beautiful legs, with her martial arts skills, Dewey would not have glanced at her.

“Knight Joline Moon, now you are my honorary knight. Think of your two subordinates as your bodyguards. As for your knight badge and equipment, I will have the family servant prepare it after arriving at the destination. Now get your men on the team. We're goin. If everything goes well, we will arrive home tonight.”

Joline was silent, while both of her subordinates seemed frustrated at losing the chance to be knighted.

This is a real opportunity to become a knight.

In general, there are only three types to obtain the title of knight. The first one, having strong martial arts skills, then got the appraisal from the knight association and obtained authentic knight medals of various levels. This type of knight is considered the most formal knight.

The second, devoted to the Temple of Light and faithful to the church since childhood. After being trained in martial arts, he would become a church temple knight through strict selection.

The third, devoted to the nobles and obtained the title of honorary knight directly.

The two men did not possess any strong martial arts skills, thus failing to pass the knight association assessment. Secondly, they were not church people, so could not become temple knights either.

If you want to become a knight, the only way is to be recruited by certain nobles.

However those who had the authority to recruit knights were great nobles. Will not look at those who are low-skilled.

Looking at his two somewhat frustrated friends, Joline could only comfort.

Joline's feelings right now were very complicated. After serving Dewey, it meant that he had lost his independence. The small independent team he had painstakingly defended long ago had been wiped out. He is no longer a leader, but a subordinate who serves others.

Joline had no idea that a few years later, people would bring up this day when looking back on history.

Due to the first official member of the ten demon knights that later took place on the mainland, the first female knight served the devil, Joline Moon. His name is remembered in history for this special moment.
