Demon Laws
Chapter 37: The Servant

The skin of this hand was old, dry and extraordinarily thin, like a bone wrapped in leather, fusing the black trunk of an old tree.

His finger raised and hooked on Dewey and the comrades, giving them a signal to enter, then his hand pulled back.

Dewey was the first to calm down. He took two steps forward, placed a hand on the moving cave wall and felt a soft surface, like pressing against water. An idea emerged, he reached out into the cave wall.

“Sounds like it can go in.” Dewey's voice was a bit hoarse.

The two girls behind Dewey held each other's hands and stood clasped.

“Are we going in?” Joanna looked at Dewey, she was a bit tense. “What if he has bad intentions?”

What happened was a little strange.

“Living here will also die,” Dewey said flatly, then he waved to Vivian. Vivian immediately walked to his side.

“Do you believe me?”

Vivian nodded strongly. Dewey clasped Vivian's hand, then gave her a quick glance, before turning around and entering first.

Vivian took a deep breath and prayed in her heart. Almighty God, bless poor little Vivian and Dewey…. Oh, and also brother.

Seeing the two lovebirds enter, Joanna gritted her teeth and entered.

So, Dewey pulls Vivian, Vivian pulls Joanna.

This view looks strange. Three people entered the cave wall. When the three people entered, the cave wall was like the surface of rippling water, then regained its calm before finally turning into a hard cave wall.

For Dewey and the others, they seem to get into a nightmare.

This place was pitch-black, there was no light at all and no sound whatsoever. They can only walk according to instinct. Dewey wasn't even sure if the direction he was heading was right.

The old man was probably using magic. If they were in the middle of the road, then the old man had stored his magic, wouldn't they be buried in stone?

Just when Dewey was wondering about how long this darkness would last, this place suddenly became bright.

This was another cave, much larger than the previous cave.

Someone was standing in the middle of this huge cave.

The person was wearing a long black robe, a tall hat, and looked extremely thin. Dewey was surprised because he discovered that the person was floating.

“Hey, were you the one who lured us here?” dewey asked, braving.

The man was silent, his hands still raised and clinging to Dewey and the others.

Caves this big are bad and airy. The man was floating and dressed in black. This sight is a bit scary. Dewey felt his throat dry.

“You're scared...”

Still the same old, weak, and almost broken voice. “Why?”

Inhaling deeply, Dewey gritted his teeth and said, “We should have asked ‘why’, right? Wh why? Why did you bring us here?”

The man did not respond.

Dewey dared to ask again. “You're the employer of this place, right? You're the one who turned our raft over at sea, right? You're the one who kept the monster? Or are you the monster itself? We fell into the sea and were swept into that cave by the whirlpool was also your doing, right? Where are we? Whoareyou? Why did you attack us?”

There's no answer.

The sound that was heard was a burst of laughter. God can be a witness, Dewey never heard the sound of laughter as ugly and as hideous as this in his lifetime.

“Stupid...” The old voice replied, “You should thank me. If I hadn't used magic, you'd have been eaten by him.”

This answer surprised Dewey and the others.

“You mean... You saved us? ‘Dia’ is what?” Dewey's heart is pounding. “Who are you? Where are we?”

Again the sound of laughter was heard.

This person floated up and stopped in place a few steps away from Dewey and the others. Dewey could finally see his face clearly.

His face was very pale. What made them afraid was that this face was as transparent as its white. The skin of his face was almost transparent, the bones behind his skin were even visible.

Anyone who saw this face would definitely have a nightmare.

Dewey was still able to brave himself, whereas the expressions of the two girls behind him had changed.

Dewey feels great because he can still maintain a calm tone when faced with a face covered in dry and almost translucent skin. However, his attitude became more polite. “If you may know, who are you and where are we?”

“Can't you ask more meaningful questions?” Jeers sounded in his voice. This person raised both of his thin arms which were under wide robes slowly.

Light appeared in his hand. Dewey and the others felt bright.

A row of candles appeared around the wall of this hollowed-out cave. The candlelight illuminated the cave.

Then, in a lighted place, appeared stone tables, chairs, even stone cabinets.

These things are amazingly beautiful. Lastly, several stone doors appeared on the walls of the cave.

Then, he remembered something. “Oh, let me think what else is lacking. Ah, I know.”

He looked up to look at the ceiling, then raised his finger and a beam of light bounced off to the ceiling of the cave.

Under the shocked gazes of Dewey and the others, the roof of the cave collapsed.

The roof of the cave fell at a certain distance, then the dome-shaped roof turned into a flat roof. The golden light slowly spread from the roof until it turned into a chandelier. Twelve candles hang there.

Dewey and the others were stunned.

Especially Vivian and Joanna. The two people were magic geniuses so they understood better.

This kind of magic is a god!

“My little guests, do you guys still have any other requests?” This man's voice sounded cold.

“Food and water.” Dewey tried to speak. “You didn't eat for a few days.”

This person smiled without a sound, fortunately he did not laugh this time. The translucent skeleton smiled at you, this sight is not pleasant.

“Sorry, I can't do it.” This person shook his head and smiled helplessly. “My magic can create anything here, except food and water. All you see is a shadow of magic. Chairs, tables, and light can fool your sense of sight and sense of touch. But I cannot create food and water, for I cannot lie to your stomach, cannot quench your thirst.”

He seemed a little sorry.

However, Dewey and the others felt that this person was already very great.

“Vivian, can you create something in empty space?” dewey whispered to the stupid girl next to him.

Vivian immediately shook her head. “G-Teacher can't do it either!”

Dewey then sees Joanna. Joanna said, “You think witches are gods?”

“Oh, white haired girl, what did you say?” He heard Joanna's words. “You said, ‘you think witches are gods?’ Hm, then..”.

He took a few steps forward, approaching Joanna. His tone sounded serious and low. “Then, what do you think is god?”

Joanna was a bit tense, her body retreated subconsciously. “God. Gods create the world..”.

Before Joanna finished speaking, this person spontaneously exploded.

His robe expanded as if filled with wind, then he roared, shocking Dewey and the others.

“Long!”

His roar echoed in the cave, making Dewey feel dizzy.

The person in front of him looked ferocious and furious. His robe was bloated, he was clearly wrathful.

Dewey immediately said carefully. “Then, do you think, what ‘fact’nya, Mister?”

This question immediately calmed him down. He lowered both of his arms and saw Dewey at a glance. “Now is not the time to talk about that.”

He backed off and looked at his three guests, then said, “Please say your name first, my little guests.”

“Why?” ask Joanna.

“Because this is the most basic respect towards the host.” This guy is smiling mockingly.

Without hesitation, Dewey immediately said, “Dewey Rollin, son of Earl Raymond – head of the Rollin family as well as deputy high command of the empire.”

Vivian could only tell her name as well. Then Joanna seemed to hesitate for a moment, finally also saying helplessly. “Joanna.”

“Oh, very good.” The host smiled faintly. “A noble noble and two witch girls. Guest this time more interesting than last time.”

“Then, what's your name?” Dewey smiled at him. “As a host should also have the most basic respect towards guests.”

“I?” This man's voice was low. “My name is not important. If you insist on wanting to know, my name is Chris Durier Sauniere Arabat Kiera Iglar.”

He called his name super long in one breath, making Dewey and the others dizzy.

Then, this man had just talked about the core of things. “Actually, I'm not the host here. I'm just a waiter, the most loyal servant of someone.”

A waiter?

A servant alone has magic power like this? Who could have a servant like this?

“Then, your employer is...” Dewey asked carefully. His tone sounded more polite.

After all, he had already shown his strength.

“My employer...” This guy is smiling. “You must know his name. Although he has many different names in various books, the people of the world call him..”.

He was silent for a few seconds and smiled.

“Device.”
