Demon Laws
Chapter 1: The Idiot

Actually, no one dared to call Dewey Rollin ‘idiot’ when he was just born. Even he was once considered a genius of the Rollin family.

Three years ago, after Dewey came out of the Countess' stomach, he made the servants responsible for the birth process shocked.

Because she didn't cry nor did she scream, there was no need to be comforted. The routine is more regular than adults. Waking up at the same time, eating and sleeping at the same time. Other than opening his mouth to eat, the child's mouth was unwilling to make any sound. The only thing he does every day is daydream and daydream.

He rarely even wet the bed. Since he could shake the bell beside the cradle, over time, whenever he heard the sound of the bell from Young Master Dewey's cradle, the maid would immediately take the potty for him. The action made the family praise the cleverness of this Young Master. Later he must have become a genius of the Rollin family.

Unfortunately, the word ‘jenius’ lost its resounding after being pinned to him for less than half a year. Because he can't talk.

Children the age of Young Master Dewey have learned to speak or issue simple pronunciations, such as ‘papa, mama, peis’, and others at his age. But Young Master Dewey's mouth was like it was sealed with a spell by a witch. The countess taught her to speak until her mouth was dry, nor did she take out a single memorization.

If you were born mute, you could at least buzz. But this Young Master was silent like a rock. If he feels cold, hot, hungry, or wants to pee, he will only use a bell.

The Young Master had never opened his golden mouth until the age of 3. The countess invited many healers, even some famous magicians to see if her son was exposed to certain magic. But all in vain too. In the end, even the most optimistic Countess let out a sad sigh. Apparently, this son is an idiot.

Fortunately, 3-year-old Young Master Dewey was able to learn to walk. Despite stumbling around, this was no different from his peers.

But such a small child just daydreams all day - unable to cry, laugh, or talk. Other than ‘idiot’, no other words can explain it.

More than a month ago, suddenly there was a thunderstorm, lightning and thunder were earthy, the rain was pouring down. Even the huge canal outside the imperial capital nearly exploded. And a big thing happened at the Earl's residence.

Young Master Dewey crawled out of the room as the servant who cared for him let his guard down. In the rain, he stood in the courtyard and looked at the sky with his head turned up. Lightning and thunder did not make this child afraid at all. Maybe idiots don't understand what fear is.

Young Master Dewey clenched his hands together while shouting at the sky.

The countess who came after hearing the news instantly fainted upon seeing that. The servants immediately lifted the Little Young Master and the Countess into the room. The countess quickly muttered, then cried while holding her fainted son. The healer summoned here hastily concocted various types of medicine for Young Master Dewey. Two witches use healing spells to guard the Countess' son.

But when the child's body temperature still did not stop decreasing, the Countess ran to the Goddess of Light temple. Pandita in black was invited to perform a blessing on the boy. And the Countess knelt in front of the goddess statue in the Goddess of Light temple for one night, unceasingly praying for the child.

Until the next day, Young Master Dewey's body finally warmed. His life was saved. But he fainted again for one day and one night. When the boy fainted, the Countess carried his son almost without eating and sleeping. Two days later, the Countess' pretty face turned dull. Young Master Dewey was delirious in his sleep. A few words came out of his mouth. It was just that everyone did not understand what it meant after hearing for so long. Come to think of it, this Young Master Idiot has never learned to talk. What he said might not mean.

However, the Countess cried so happily. He fell face down on the child's side and heard it for a long time, finally getting a hint. The countess turned her head, looked at the silent group of servants, then said in a low voice. “Is there a waitress named Sia among the maids who usually take care of Young Master?”

Everyone stared, finally a brave man bowed before saying, “Mistress, there seems to be no one named Sia among the servants responsible for the daily routine of Young Master.”

After that everyone searched the entire Earl's residence and finally found a horse-feeding giver named Sia in the stables. He was called by the Countess.

“My son called your name in a dream. Sia. Although it didn't know why he mentioned your name, it was probably a hint from the Goddess of Light. Goddess bless. From now on, you do not need to feed the horse anymore, move to the side of Young Master.”

Sia was happy. He suddenly became the Young Master's servant inside the Earl's residence of a horse-feder. He seemed to see a bright future waving at him.

However, Dewey who was in the dreamland did not know that his little life was almost lost due to rain due to anger at the sky. Nor did he know that he who cursed ‘sial’ in the subconscious even benefits someone.

Young Master Dewey was sick for a month. His body which was indeed the body of a child became increasingly weak. A month later, the tiny face was colored again.

But, as usual, this Young Master still did not speak. Ever since he regained consciousness, no more memorization came out of his mouth. Even a waiter named ‘Sia’ whom he ‘select yourself’ in his dreamland is also not loved. Every day just daydreaming and daydreaming. The only difference was when the servant occasionally talked about the Countess holding her for two days and two nights without rest, and kneeling before the goddess statue all night when she was gravely ill.

From then on, while visiting her son every day, the Countess found that this boy's originally flat gaze turned slightly warmer as he turned to her.
