Return of memories of the past (Fourth part)
-- Hospital X, Downtown Malang----
Radhif POV
a - sebait Radhif prayer for Mayang---
If the night no longer cools the tired heart waiting for you,
If the morning dew no longer blot out my thirst for love and your affection,
Destiny should have taken me away...
Go far away, you,
Until you realize what I mean
in life.
Radhif wrote the poem in Radhit's diary that Mayang had read and kept. The diary was deliberately taken by Radhif secretly so that Mayang no longer read it. In Radhif's mind if Mayang keeps and reads Radhit's diary, Radhit's figure will continue to shadow Mayang's life for life so that he will find it difficult to open the door of Mayang's heart to receive his love.
Mayang should have realized that all this time I really loved him. The care and affection I gave her was no pretense.
Will Mayang be able to realize my deep feelings for her? Is it possible that this is too late? Too late to start over. Could Mayang still be able to reopen his heart for me after what I did until disaster befall him and take away something of his very precious possession.
Is this all my fault? Or is this a fateful vision so that I can start everything with Mayang without the shadow of the late Radhit? Is this selfishness when in my mind think like this? Do I sin for causing the love fruit of Mayang and my late sister to die?
'Yes, God, why does destiny still play tricks on our feelings. Where is the happiness that You should give to the woman who has lost her life. Radhit's grave has not yet dried up, why have You taken his possession which he so desperately wanted to be present on this earth. Let her feel happiness, though I should feel bitterness and sadness. I will sincerely accept it, for the sake of my love for Mayang and to make up for all my mistakes for causing Mayang to lose the fetus in her birth, Radhif cried.
Radhif poured out all the grunts he had in his heart on the book of his late sister Radhit. Scratch by scratch that describes the atmosphere of his heart at that time. Just by writing it in the book was a heavy burden that made his chest tightness slightly reduced.
If you knew how much I wanted you and wished I could spend the rest of my life with you. I want you to know that Mayang, my love will never change even though I know your heart and love belong only to Radhit. I'm willing to be Radhit's shadow so you can feel happiness. Only then am I happy to see you smiling and enjoying the paradise of the world with me in a sacred bond that is truly based on love without coercion. You know I've been drifting in your sea of beauty
Without Radhif noticing Mayang began to open both eyelids. His eyes wildly swept through the room space.
'Awh.why does it hurt so much. Why does my head feel dizzy. This pain made me unable to reverse my body, ' he murmured inwardly.
Mayang tried to move his legs, the sound of the bed squeaking was heard. Instantly he stopped moving. Returning to silence and closing his eyes, enduring the excruciating pain in his stomach.
'I heard something, it seems Mayang woke up, ' inner Radhif.
On the lid of the black leather-bound book, put it back in the desk drawer next to the sofa where it was sitting. Hurry up to move his feet towards Mayang's bed.
'What should I do? Did I just go see a nurse and ask her for help? Yes, I'd better ask the nurse to check on Mayang. Maybe that way Mayang will feel good, ' Radhif said in his heart.
Radhif then walked away towards the door, the sound of the door opening. Now he passed leaving Mayang alone in the room.
'Where did Radhif go? What the hell is he doing? Why did he leave me alone in such a situation? Could it be that his love is only a formality? It means there's no place for me in her heart. I'm the only one who won't be able to get Kak Radhif who is so perfect, ' Mayang cried in his heart.
Heart's torn. An indignation pierced his heart, leaving a deep wound. Wounds that are now bleeding over scars that have not yet dried up because of the loss of those he loves.
Out there in Radhif's hospital lobby looking for a nurse on duty.
"Assalamualaikum, Sister!" rang Radhif while in the hospital lobby.
"Wa'alaikumsalam, how, sir? What can I help you with?" ask the nurse kindly.
"I'm sorry can I ask the nurse on current duty to check on my wife?" ask Radhif again.
"Sorry, Sir. What room is your wife in? what room is the nomir, sir? What's your wife's complaint, sir?" the nurse asked Radhif.
"My wife's out of surgery, Sus. I'm in rose room no 86" Radhif replied.
"Owh, yes, sir. Immediately I called the nurse on duty. Please wait in the room, the officer will be here soon. Thank you," he said kindly, inviting Radhif to return to the hospital room where Mayang was treated.
"Sorry, Sus. If I could go to the hospital first. There's something I want to buy. Not for 25 minutes" cried Radhif.
"Good, Sir. Later I tell the officer to see you in 30 minutes in the room where your wife is hospitalized. Please if you want to go to the cafeteria first, sir," explained the nurse with a friendly smile.
"Thank you, Sister for the help!" exclaim Radhif then walked to the cafe which is right next to the hospital.
He wants to buy coffee and snacks as a booster of his hunger. Because it's almost afternoon the second day his younger brother has not come. It had been thought by him to ask for help from his lieutenant who was in the same battalion where Heru and Dwi served, but in the absence of that intention, because he believed Heru would not betray his trust. Although he knew that both of them had lied to him by allowing Setyo to become a donor for Mayang.
'Why are they so long. Did they get in trouble for having to help me? What am I supposed to do? Am I trying to contact Heru to ask?' batin Radhif's.
Radhif's feelings began to be disturbed because the two did not go to the hospital where Mayang is now in care. Radhif was worried because of his promise Heru and Dwi would arrive at the hospital in just 3 or 4 hours after he arrived.
