Dreams To Return: The God Of The Tower

Dreams To Return: The God Of The Tower
65. Guide the King Candidate (2)

A cold wind blew between the leaves of the trees. In a vast and dense forest Fobetor seemed to be sitting on a branch of a large tree, as far as the eye could see there were only leaves and some fresh fruits and some beautiful mystical creatures. His orange eyes stared at every corner and when he realized there was no threat he sighed.

"It's been three days. There are no more hunters... It was strange that I was given such a dirty job" Fobetor opened his pocket watch, giving Novan a slight smile on his face every time he looked at it. He seems to like his new gift.

Just like Mammon and Leviathan, Fobetor also carries out a mission and that mission is to watch over a large forest that is right on the border of the world, although he is said to be watching more precisely he is asked to keep the forest from humans who have evil intentions.

At first Fobetor did not understand but once he met the slave sellers who were kidnapping the animals and elves in the forest he finally assumed that his task was to exterminate all the bullies who tried to touch the forest.

One group of humans died and the other kept coming to catch the other elves, until finally there were four groups of humans that Fobetor destroyed and drove out of the forest. There was no doubt in every slash of his knife, no forgiveness in every utterance he spoke, only anger and hatred in his eyes.

Fobetor was a former nightmare god, 90th death, blood, and suffering was already not a strange and foreign thing to him. But for some reason since he built a contract with Novan, a feeling called empathy arises in him. It was that empathy that stirred up his anger every time he saw an elf crying and getting hurt.

"I'll help you escape..."

The words were spoken and his hand was stretched out on every creature wounded by the hunter-gatherers. And that was the beginning of the massacre that Fobetor committed, he did not regret his actions because he knew that man would be reborn in the next round and he realized that the humans were destined by the gods to be a threat to the Elves.

That fact made him angry even now he never considered himself a god again. The world that he, his brother and father had led was now really like a prison for man and just a cliche story that someone wrote and kept repeating.

Fobetor sighed and then descended towards the tent he had made, where a witch from the Akasa residence army appeared to come out of the tent "oh welcome back master Novan" Fobetor nodded and then his eyes turned to a fruit basket near their tent.

"Sir, did Kaleid bring these fruits?" Fobetor walked over and then saw the fresh fruit.

"Not that haha I peeked out from inside the tent and realized that some forest Elves were putting the basket here" Fobetor raised his eyebrows in astonishment and then brought the fruit kingdom.

"They just left him? Looks like I'll have to return it" right before Fobetor steps he's then prevented by Nik.

"No, it's not so! They must have left it as a thank you!"

"Thank you? What's for?" Fobetor looked confused, he did not understand at all. Usually, humans will give offerings to the gods in return for the goodness of the gods and the gratitude of humans but elves are not humans. "Why did they give us this? Isn't this weird?" Fobetor is now a human being but he does not understand at all about the relationship between humans and even similar creatures. Because from the beginning the original body of Fobetor is a monster that inhabits Nightmare so he does not have to bother learning to understand living things.

"You helped them! Surely they accepted you and gave you a gift!"

"Then you're the same, right?" Fobetor's answer was beyond Nik's expectations, now silence is between the two and the wind as far as it blows through the green leaves "you also help them, they must also accept you right?" Nik's face looked sad and a smile disappeared from his face.

"Haha where is it possible... I'm just an outcast elf" aware that Fobetor made Nik sad he apologized but Nik shook his head and started telling me something. Along with that the afternoon arrived and the dense forest was now bathed in the golden light of the afternoon sun, and, the leaves were still falling as the wind blew and the sound of birds flying in formation in the sky was heard so clearly in the ocean with birds hiding in the trees.

The bonfire is lit and Nik begins to tell his past, the beginning of an outcast race like himself could be in the Askara residence.

"Isn't he the prince of elves who was expelled for possessing magic power?" Novan asked a young man who appeared to be holding a dagger. Andi then looked at Novaan and nodded. On the other hand the Askara residence seemed so quiet and lanterns lit up everywhere, on a tiled training ground Andi and Novan seemed to want to practice.

"Yes, I brought him here" the wind began to envelop Andi's dagger and then he threw his dagger at the apple on top of the target doll, the dagger was perfectly stuck but a frown appeared on Andi's forehead. "Fear again." he then moved his hand, making the wind that enveloped the dagger pull the dagger back into his hand.

"Oh your ability has developed yes" Novan looked smiling and proud of the development of Andi's wind power, the last time the boy could only use his wind without a weapon, he said, and now the boy can now control the weapon with the wind.

"No, I want to be like a sister"

Novan's eyes widened and he blinked his eyes several times "what?" But Andi did not answer he again threw his dagger and once again the dagger managed to stab another apple. Upset at not getting an answer, Novan threw his dagger and dagger then darted quickly and split the apple into two parts, what Andi could not do was easily done by Novan without the use of magic energy or aura power.

"If anyone asks you you have to answer"

"Sister didn't answer my question last time either.." Andi looked unhappy.

"Questions? Who is the blonde woman who comes every week? About Kinan?" Andi did not answer, as if he was now upset and did not want to continue the conversation "you lash?!" Novan covered his mouth with a look of disbelief, Andi who is famous for being friendly and always smiling is now sulking.

Andi is a child who tends to hide his feelings, he continues to live under the shadow of his twin sister and is more comfortable not to show his real face. Every sentence, every action even every movement could be just a trick he made. But Novan is the one who has known Andi in the fifth roundabout, he knows when the boy is lying and when the boy is honest.

"Alright I won't ask you again, so tell me who Nik is. It seems that he is our proud wizard and Kaleid's best friend"

Andi sighed and began to say what had happened about a few years ago. Right at the time he first met Nik at a slave auction.

At that time I was probably only 14 years old, and I went to the auction place secretly with my twin sister, Dian. Since childhood he was indeed a genius, his mind could be like an adult and his attitude was absolutely perfect as if he had become accustomed to the culture of nobility unlike mine he was more able to take care of himself, he was more, and that's why I always follow him.

One night when the auction began we saw unique objects being auctioned, until we arrived at the event visitors. An elf-eared child with long green hair appeared to be confined in a cage.

"He is the descendant of the elf king, this child was the main star in today's auction session. Elves were usually creatures close to nature and controlling the power of nature, yet this child had a magic aura within his heart! If you take good care of her she can become a witch!"

Dian continued to look at the boy and then shook his head, as if disappointed with something, it was the last auction item and we did not buy any items, because indeed our purpose there was not to buy dark items.

"Destroy everything, make this place hit by a storm and don't let anything remain" that was the first execution order Dian gave.

My wind hits every place like a storm and destroys everything, I shouldn't be able to do this but there's a reason why I can survive in the Akasa family, it's because I'm in a monster that can destroy everything. I am a child blessed with the wind from heaven. My wind managed to destroy everything until there was one cage with Elves I had seen.

Our eyes met each other and for some reason I couldn't let it go, that was the first time I decided to make my own decision. I took the boy to Akasa's residence and Dian helped me get permission from the head of the family. I thought at least he would be able to survive in this place but he learned too quickly, the child whose height is no more than my shoulders is now growing so big and genius, he said, making her the only respected witch of our family.

Novan nodded in understanding with Andi's story and then his eyes were directed to the apple that was pierced by Andi's dagger. The night was getting late and Andi decided to sleep, after he said goodbye now only Novan left.

In the darkness of night and solitude he then muttered "if you were a real man maybe I'd trust you more, Andi"
