71. The Beginning of the Disaster

Waves of the wrath of the gods, or it could also be called a disaster that would plunge the entire dream world. This disaster is a scenario that the gods make every five centuries, the purpose of the wave in addition to the entertainment of the gods is also one of the efforts to filter out the souls who have the potential to be the cause of a war, especially to exterminate the 'foreigners' like Arin and Novan who are not affected by the rules of that world.

Waves of fighting filled by monsters have the aim to kill mankind who is at its peak or just to damage the natural resources of the world that humans can use. And when the human paar is stricken in despair there are only two paths for them.

Begging and re-worshiping the figures they call the gods or plunging in mannya enjoy hell with the devil. There will be many monsters wandering around and lives falling, among all those lives the gods will filter them into three groups, the first of which is the favorite human of the gods, innocent people and traitors.

Favourite and innocent humans will be sent to other parts of the dream world, while no one knows what will happen to the traitors.

At least that's what Nova knows.

"the gods must have felt threatened because they realized there were people who had helped two would-be demon kings to rule one part of this world, we must be prepared if something happened that was beyond our expectations" Morpheus' words made Mammon and Leviathan nod in agreement.

"Maybe Loki, senses and Retna will also feel threatened.."

"You mean they're gonna make Nikolai, Rian and Dian betray?"

"No, they have to betray"

Meanwhile in a garden filled with blue roses Dian and Dewi Ratna "my daughter, listen to me for this time only" The beautiful goddess looked so anxious. "And you gods just let it go? Just because of Novan? Does that make sense?!" Rian's impact made Indra pause for a moment and with a desperate look he patted the shoulder of the newly-adolescent child.

"Sometimes there's something better you don't know... Right now the dream world should be back 'purified' from the likes of Novan"

"What do you really mean..?"

"Those who desire the destruction of this world"

Rian's eyes were rounded and his face became extremely "impossible shock... Brother Novan is not that cruel person..." Indra's words sounded like a fact that so pierced Rian.

"Rian, maybe you love her because she's the sister you love the most. But hasn't he been missing for 10 years? Then are you sure he really is your real brother and not influenced by demons?" All the memories about Arin had been completely erased on the minds of everyone except Hopeless and Protogonos himself.

"I hope it won't interfere with your performance on this mission" Zeus said and then Nanaru nodded obediently, the other gods beginning to whisper and laugh at him.

"Look, he really looks like a dog that has been domesticated" some consider Nanaru to be such a cute pet.

"That's the result when challenging the world over isn't it? He should have been more respectful. Thanks to us he was still alive even though he had committed a great sin" while others looked down at the demigod-like young man as if looking at an insect.

"I am content to see the man who used to fight against us in the name of humanity now submit to us. I could hardly wait for the next dog" said Hermes suddenly making the whole room quiet for a moment before the sound of whispers became clearer, surely the people they were referring to were dissident humans like Novan.

"Silent" the voice of Hades made the other gods now quiet "I hope you can understand that this is an important meeting" his purple eyes stared straight at all the gods in the white room.

"The Greek god of the underworld is right, we must think well of how we teach those humans a lesson" Odin finally raised his voice and the entire Nordic deity then nodded in agreement.

"For that I want to assign someone to lead this disaster, there will be around two gods who will lead this disaster in two places. Comfort dream and Nightmare" a hand then lifted and all the views of the gods were immediately directed towards the owner of the dark-skinned palm.

"What if Ares is?"

"It's not like you used to be. Didn't you always want to get this turn, Seth?" Hearing his name mentioned by the ancient Egyptian god of darkness and chaos made Ares then ask in wonder. The two have often argued over this issue and usually Seth is the one who wants to destroy the world the most.

"Why don't you two?" Hopeless seemed to smile and then looked towards Hades "I'm sure the god Hades doesn't want to dirty his own hands right?" A faint smile formed on Hades' lips and he nodded in agreement and understood Hopeless's intentions.

"Then we just decide" Zeus's remarks received a positive response from all the gods there. Both Odin, Vishnu and the god-leaders from other mythologies agree but there is only one god who does not approve of it.

A god from among the abstract gods was now only silent staring at the entire god. His face was covered by a mask that showed eyes that curved to carry like a smile but there were also patches of blood crying formed on his mask. It is the representative of all the abstract gods who do not want the meeting, as Hopeless told Novan the abstract gods do not consider themselves gods who have the right to rule the world, they prefer to see and help humans from the shadows.

Around him the stars were flying, his body was covered by a robe and from behind the robe a black shadow looked like a moving tentacle. "Can't you choose another option besides this disaster? It felt like this way was very old-fashioned" his fierce criticism echoed throughout the room and no god dared to retaliate.

"Compassion mission, do you have any other opinions?" Hopeless asked politely but the figure sighed for a moment and shook his head.

"I just hope you guys don't mind me participating" his voice sounded so happy "that way maybe I'll make this disaster a little more interesting" though once all the gods know that he's up to something.

He is a mysterious god and likes to see miserable humans, but when he is satisfied he will help the humans by giving blessings to these humans. The humans knew him by various names because he did not have a definite name, but one nickname agreed upon by all the gods was 'Compassion Mission' which means compassion misery.

"If you don't mind, do you?"

"Or are you afraid of a lowly god like me doing something?"

"What's the reason you're interested in this disaster?" Hermes asked with a puzzled look.

"Not something special, I just feel that there are humans who have a very strong energy of misery" Compassion Mission looked at Hopeless and Hades and from behind his mask he seemed to smile as if he knew what the two gods were hiding. It's as if Compassion Missionary knew the secret to the curse of Novan.
