82. First Round

"You think we'll let you?" The voices of the gods were heard speaking to him.

A spiritual hand appeared and with a voice so heavy he gave a warning "An irregular like you shouldn't exist" a glow of light surrounded the young man along with the shadow of a snake wrapped around his body.

'you think I care?! You leaders can only take advantage of others from behind. A figure like you doesn't deserve to be called a god!!'

Novan shouted with overflowing emotions inside him. His eyes glowed red and he seemed ready to deflect further.

"Once the opposition remains the opposition huh. Then let's see what you can do if we erase your memory"

A trickle of water hit Novan's forehead, erasing all memories of what he had been through even sealing all the power he had.

"may your path always be met by obstacles, O miserable irregulars"

Novan could feel his body fusing following the clockwork of time that spun against the laws of the world. And just before he vanished the voice of the gods was heard again.

"Catch in your own lucid dream"

The gods expect Novan to continue to be miserable in the dreamland, trapped by his own choice in defying the gods of mythology.

But the other gods loved him. And among all the gods were three gods who expected Novan not to fall. Hades the underworld ruler, Hipnos the sleeping god and Thanatos the god of death.

Thanatos, upset that his brother was deceived by the gods, helped Hypnos and the children to come back to life, but with half the power of their god. Thanatos needed Hades' help and the two agreed to work together to revive Hypnos.

The two link the thread of fate between Novan and the dream gods through a curse uttered by Hades and Hypnos "we hope you will be haunted by your past" hopefully in the future Novan can glimpse the bad nasip that he went through.

While Thanatos will always keep an eye on Novan, making sure the young man dies painfully in each of his rounds in order for Novan to have trauma after trauma that increasingly haunts him in each round, the, and it will slowly impact on how Novan behaves and makes choices.

Hades and Thanatos are confident that they will connect and work together someday in creating a world where the gods will live quietly and without causing disaster. Hypnos and his children unknowingly absorb Novan's soul power to survive, and Novan needs them to help him go round after round.

In the second round, Novan absorbed the power of Morpheus, making Morpheus then inhabit Novan and witness all things that Novan does not remember. In the fifteenth round Novan kills Fobetor, making Fobetor then swear a contract in each round of Novan in the future, that he will serve Novan even though he has no memory of Novan. Twenty-five Novan is overrun by his darkness, making himself a demon king and ending up dead because Kiel killed him on the orders of arc angel Michael. In the hundredth century, Novan kills Perseus and Medusa, disrupting all dreamworld arrangements.

In every round there is always one mistake that makes Novan unable to achieve his goals. It liberates the dream world and all humans. His attitude is always changing, his figure is increasingly unable to be remembered even by himself.

Novan is like a broken mirror, he can't even see what he looks like. How is his nature, his appearance even anyone who is on his side now. All the memories of the round he had experienced hit him like the waves of the sea that hit him so strongly. Novan is now asleep in his own memory, watching as he goes through each round in misery and suffering.

"It seems that it's time" the soft voice from behind her caught the girl's attention and she saw Protogonos standing with Ivan in the hallway. "It's time to go back, Arin" Ivan stretched out his hand and Arin with a smile reached for it.

"Yes, time to wake my sister"

Arin holds his book and he smiles towards the exit of the library of the universe. Arin had spent his time reading all the world's information, and he even read everything that Novan had gone through as well as the fact that Novan and Arin in the original world were a pair of brothers who fell into a coma due to a train accident.

Arin looked at her hand, taking a deep breath while bracing herself to dare to make a choice. The memory of Novan hugging him on a broken train makes Arin back to make up his mind. Novan was always there for her and now it was time for her brother to need her.

Arin steps out of the universe's library and together with Ivan both enter the dream world, heading to where Novan should be.

Meanwhile, a demon king was sitting on his golden throne with an emphasis on his gaze staring at each of his subordinates while a screen appeared to display the figures of the other six demon kings. Mammon and Leviathan have now obtained their crown, creating their own Kingdom in the underworld and alongside other demon lords including Lucifer. Time passed too quickly for them or perhaps because time in the underworld was different from the rest of the world.

Underworld and nightmare times feel slower than reality, while time in other dream worlds feels so fast than reality. Even the difference in comparison between the worlds was very far away. A year in nightmare may even be equivalent to a month in a comfort dream.

"Your majesty, lord Morpheus is sending you a message" a white-haired young man with some black hues appeared to bow, he wore a black robe with a yellow demon emblem of Greed on his back. Kanz handed him a letter and Mammon opened it.

"Are you still in touch with that former god? He's still in a contract with ordinary humans" the mocking voice of another demon king stirred up the anger of Mammon but in contrast to Mammon whom he used to now just quietly let Leviathan mock behind the demon king.

"It seems that you already have no fear huh" Leviathan's voice shrouded in a menacing aura and a cold gaze made all the demon lords on the magic screen now speechless. "Maybe I've always understood all the deeds you've done at Nightmare all this time but remember I'm the ruler of the dark seas of this world, the leader of the monsters of the deep seas." Leviathan affirmed his position, he was completely different from the young man who used to always look down on himself. He is no longer dominated by envy, but dominates everyone with that envy.

"And it's possible that the man you ridiculed will one day ask me to destroy all of you. Of course I would gladly do that"

"Quite Leviathan" Lucifer's resolute voice finally made Leviathan return to calm. "I don't want the demon lords to be divided just because of the selfishness of all of you" Lucifer seems to have devised a grand plan and the plan requires all the help of demon lords including Leviathan and Mammon who have a powerful influence in the dream world.

"As I said before, we will help the gods of legend to confine the gods of mythology"
