“How to think you're always weird.” Jenson got up and approached him. Rachel had to admire the way she moved. His movements are less haughty, because Jenson does not try not to look arrogant. “If we play again, whatever we play, you won't be able to cheat me again.”
Rachel smiled at him. “Jenson, we've known each other for a long time, so you can't intimidate me.” He raised his hand to pat Jenson on the cheek and found his wrist blocked for the second time. And for the second time he saw and felt something similar, something dangerous that he had felt upstairs.
Now there is no longer Grandpa Robert who usually mediates between the two of them. Maybe they're both just starting to realize it. Whatever was between them that made them growl and snarl, had to face a long six months.
Perhaps none of them wanted to deal with it, but both of them were too stubborn to back off.
“Maybe we just started getting to know each other,” muttered Jenson.
Rachel agrees but still doesn't like Jenson even though Jenson isn't a big-witted fool like Yagil or a big, harmless one like David. Maybe he and Jenson are cousins, but the blood between them is always boiling. There is violence in Jenson, and sometimes it is reflected in the look in his eyes, in the way he restrains, as if he is trying not to avoid danger but instead to face it.
Rachel recognized him because she herself also had the violence. Perhaps that was why he always felt compelled to throw arrows at Jenson, just to see how much Jenson could return to him.
They were glued to their places for a while, appraising each other's strength. The wisest thing to do now is to step aside. Rachel lifts Jenson's chin preparing to push him, but Jensontak moves as Jenson holds her hand tightly. “We fight next time, Jenson. I am tired of traveling from Malang. Do you agree we're at peace for a while?”
“Regulation number five,” said Rachel, Jenson has not been willing to let go of her hand. "No kissing, s*x and such. In any case this is a temporary marriage so I don't want to give up my virginity to you. I still wish I could meet the right guy, then get married and live happily with him. And this includes not interfering in each other's romantic affairs. You please date that crazy dancer, and I'll find my white equestrian prince."
Jenson frowned. "I told you I had nothing to do with her" she took Rachel's arm off and looked at her cousin's tiny body. "While who's gonna fuck you, you're not my type at all."
Before Rachel chirped more to return her words. Jenson left him. "See you at dinner, Cousin."
...****************...
Rachel WOKE up before sunrise, awake, well rested, and full of energy. Whether due to the cool air of his grandfather's residence or six hours of deep sleep, he was ready for his wedding with Jenson.
There was not much for her wedding day. Rachel just bought a simple dress without a tail from the boutique she visited yesterday in Malang, for his makeup, he planned to make up and dip his own hair like he usually does when attending a party.
No need to wear real bridal makeup, she thought. Because no one will come, including both parents who are busy covering one of the forests in Kalimantan, while Jenson's parents are busy with their new partner. Both his parents and Jenson's two parents simply leave prayers for them.
Presumably both of their parents, also thought that he and Jenson were married just because of Grandpa Robert's inheritance, too, as in the minds of their other brothers who yesterday were present in the reading of Grandfather Robert's inheritance.
They made it through dinner without any fuss. Maybe they were friendly because of Nyoman and Jesica, or maybe because they were too tired to criticize each other. Rachel wasn't so sure.
They had dinner under the dim light of a large candle holder and talked about, wedding plans today, weather and food.
At nine, they looked for their respective activities, in their respective rooms. Rachel reads until her eyes are closed and Jenson works in her study.
Finished finishing off a piece of muffin and a glass of warm tea, Rachel returned to her room, preparing to apply makeup. Although it looks simple, in fact Rachel spent almost three hours to apply makeup and style her hair.
Nyoman comes to pick up Rachel when Rachel is ready. Jesika praised Rachel's beauty while giving her a bouquet of flowers picked up from the garden of Robert's grandfather's residence.
"What is the pastor and Mrs. Zephaniah is here?" ask Rachel.
"Everyone is waiting for you to come down" Nyoman thrust her arm, ready to take Rachel to the park, where she delivered the blessing.
Who and when in the magic garden next to Grandfather Robert's residence, became a beautiful wedding altar, surrounded by fresh flowers. Jenson looks different than usual, he looks neat with his white coat stelan, can't Rachel deny, if he looks handsome today. He smiled, standing before the priest, welcoming Rachel's arrival.
Rachel briefly tears up her harrowing tears, as Jenson makes a wedding vow, but she quickly turns her face away and wipes away tears. It felt like he looked stupid, feeling sorry for something that would only last six months.
Unbeknownst to Rachel, Jenson's tears reminisced in the corner of her eyes, as Rachel made her wedding vows. A brief blessing, Rachel glares at Jenson as the priest invites Jenson to kiss his wife.
Oh my God, my lips that I've been guarding only for my future husband, are stained by Jenson, Rachel's inner self. He closed his eyes tightly as Jenson brought his face closer to him. Oh, my God, how is this?
Cup..
Jenson lands her kiss on Rachel's forehead, and Rachel exhales her leg. After the event, they all enjoyed the dishes that Jesica had prepared. Jenson and Rachel have just signed a contract approving Grandpa Robert's terms of inheritance, after the priest and piano player who accompanied their blessing have left Grandpa Robet's residence.
"I'll always keep an eye on you two" Mrs said. Zephaniah.
