Honey And Toxins (Not a Common Contract)
Chapter 21: Submitting the Evidence

Nara is preparing to go to Sam's office, she has requested permission with Ammar through a message. And Ammar allows.

"You want to see that detective?" Irene asked suddenly. Nara turned around, she thought Irene had left for the office earlier.

"Yes." answered Nara.

"I want to see him too." Irene invites Nara to get in her car.

He also said there were important things that must be discussed with Sam about the events of 20 years ago.

Arriving at the Detective office, Nara immediately entered and Irene followed behind her. Irene looked around, she took off her sunglasses.

"Good morning." said Sandra, her smile faded as she saw who had come with Nara.

"You brought your sister-in-law today?" Sam was pretending to be ordinary. His heart wondered what made Irene go there.

Irene stepped past Nara, then greeted Sam with her sharp and glaring smile.

"Hey... I've been looking for you guys for a long time."

"You know us?" sam asked, he and Sandra stood next to each other throwing confused gazes.

"You're Mr. Jasman's son, aren't you? The man who was in prison for his negligence. I'm sure you've been investigating me through Nara."

The thing that Sam was most afraid of now filled his mind, did Irene come to change her father's punishment?

"You're Mr Erland's eldest daughter?"

"My parents died horribly..."

"My dad didn't do it. He was trapped by someone!" cut Sam into a ketus.

"I know.. That's why I've been looking for you all these years. Your father was framed by someone who trusted my parents very much."

Sam and Sandra again threw gazes at each other after hearing Irene's words just now.

"Room. Start an investigation of her." Irene handed him the piece of evidence she got from the police.

But all that evidence is useless because it looks like the police are very submissive with Damar. That's why he wants to handle the case thoroughly.

After handing over some of the items that could be used for investigation, Irene left Nara there. He went to the office to take care of the rest of his plans. You can tell now he and Sam are working together.

Neither Nara, Sam, Sandra nor Galih. The four of them were both daydreaming, addressing the file in disbelief.

What an unexpected surprise, the years Sam and Sandra hid their father's identity. But now the son of the victim who caused their father in prison instead asked them to reveal the truth.

For years their father was locked behind bars, as long as the devil that trapped him roamed freely.

"I need coffee..." Sandra left their desk. He went upstairs to make coffee.

Seeing the look on Sandra's face, Galih caught up with her. He knew it must be very difficult for him. He left Sam and Nara in the room.

"I didn't expect you to be involved with the Ammar family." Nara tried to think positively, after all the traps she went through. Bringing this case to Sam isn't someone's scenario, is it? Why does this feel so coincidental?

Nara nodded, she also needed something to realize that this was not a dream.

Sandra and Galih were standing on the balcony. I don't know what they're talking about. Sam and Nara make coffee with empty minds.

Because the atmosphere was very quiet, Sam also started a conversation. He asked her something that intrigued her from the beginning.

"Is your cheek hurt?" he wondered why Nara always put the plaster there.

Nara was about to answer, but she locked up her answer. If he said it was a dimple that was deliberately closed because Ammar did not like it, Sam would think strange later.

"This. scratches. only small scratches." he said. Making Sam think far, he didn't believe the answer. Understandably, the soul of the Detective is very attached to the investigation.

Sam pulled the plaster in an instant. Sticking a little bit of Nara's fine feather in the plaster.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Nara pegged on the spot, her loud voice making Sandra and Galih approach them in a hasty step.

"Dry cheek?" sam muttered in amazement and surprise. Why would Nara lie about that?

Nara pressed her glass against the table.

"You're violating your Client's privacy!"

"Sorry, I thought you were experiencing domestic violence. Let alone looking at the faces of your sister-in-law and husband. I thought you were..."

"Why their faces?" cut Nara, for some reason it feels like she doesn't want anyone else to vilify Irene and Ammar. It was still stuck in his heart that the two were saviors.

"It's nothing.." Sam immediately returns the plaster to Nara.

The atmosphere that had been silent was even more awkward. Sam mused at his attitude just now, it was indeed very disrespectful. Nara was like that, why she was so angry because she wanted to know Sam. In this world he no longer has anyone, it is not good if there is someone who is worried about his condition even if only limited to Clients.

The night was late, instead of returning to Ammar's house. Nara went back to her grandmother's house. He deliberately used the bus so that Irene's men did not follow him.

With a lethargic face and a clenched mind, Nara walked slowly through the beach. The waves are smashed, the typical sound of the area makes Nara long for the difficult times that he passed first.

"It's not what I mean by God." - he lamented, tears fell as he tried to hold back.

Nara used to pray day and night. He hoped God would end his troubles, hoping to be free from his grandmother. But it seems like God willed something else, He replaced Nara's suffering with something even more amazing.

After about thirty minutes down the beach road. Nara finally arrived at her old house. As soon as she opened the door, the scent left behind made Nara re-enclosed in the memories of the past.

While living his sorrow, suddenly a voice crept from the top floor. The sound was like the clattering of footsteps that disturbed the calm arrangement of the wooden floor above.

Nara forced herself to check, she held the broom handle to be on alert. And when he got to the door, how surprised he was to see someone lying on his bed.

"Goddess?!"
