Honey And Toxins (Not a Common Contract)
Chapter 67: Facts about death

Ammar's decision on the demolition of the tomb has been unanimous. He even asked Sam and the forensic agency to investigate whether there was anything strange about Irene's body. Especially about a mole she had never seen before.

"What...?" Sam is shocked when Ammar asks him to investigate Irene's body.

Ammar piled up his legs, then sipped coffee provided by Sandra. He's coming to the detective's office.

"But why? Didn't you and Nara have seen that body Irene. If for the reason of the recent murders, then this makes no sense." he said, Sam tried to fish, whether Ammar was not involved with the recent murders.

"Didn't you suspect me as the culprit? And you suspect Irene's death as much as I do." said Ammar with a cold face.

"All right..." Sam responded to Ammar's request. He'll call the forensics team to search Irene's body.

It did not take long, three hours later the process of demolition of the tomb was carried out. Ammar and Sam did not take their eyes off the coffin that had been buried just a few weeks ago. Once cleared, the crates are taken to the ambulance and they head straight to the hospital to continue the investigation.

"You okay?" sam asked a little worried, who was not shaken to see his wife's body disturbed like that. Even though it was Ammar's own authority, still Sam could feel the worry and confusion that wrapped.

Ammar just nodded small, this he did for the good of his and Nara. If Irene had faked her death, then the recent murders were indeed Irene's. And that means Nara and her baby will be in danger.

...~~~...

Night came, Nara with a sense of worry since earlier waiting for the return of Ammar. He even deduced the presumption that might have occurred if Irene was alive.

"You haven't slept yet..?" ask Ammar as soon as he enters the room. His appearance looked very shabby and tired, the look of his face also looked crumpled.

"How did it go?" Nara sat on the bed, looking at Ammar full of anxiety.

Ammar took a deep breath, he sat on the edge of the same bed as Nara. For a moment his eyes closed, as if he was regretting what he had done today.

"That is indeed Irene." her voice sounded trembling. Seeing Irene's face after several weeks of being buried, made her heart feel broken. However, there is a relief of its own.

"You must be hoping he's alive, right?" Nara tries to comfort and understand Ammar's feelings.

Frankly, that's not the hope. He had accepted the fate that Irene was dead. He demolished the tomb just to be sure. If Irene was still alive, then she wouldn't be able to protect Nara from Irene's cruel hands.

"I'm relieved..," replied Ammar slowly.

"Who committed the murder?" ask Nara curiously.

"Either.. That's a threat to us." Ammar looked at Nara's belly full of appreciation. He could see Nara's stomach that had started to grow. Adorable.

"May I touch him." - Ammar. If thought during Nara's pregnancy she never interacted directly with the baby.

"I don't want to be touched by you." Nara covered her body with a blanket.

"I want to touch my son, not touch you."

"Stay you'll touch my stomach."

Ammar grimaced, it was very difficult to destroy the little creature. Though he just wanted to feel the taste of interacting with the baby in the womb.

"You don't intend to introduce me to her? You have to start early, in the womb. If it's not possible, she won't recognize Papa's voice at birth."

"I'm sure he has such good hearing that he can hear your voice from there." Nara said quickly. He will not be consumed by the incitement of the striped-nose man.

"Yes indeed. But later when he was born. Now he's still in my stomach, so this is my full right."

"saishhh.. You're so petty." he said throwing an annoyed look.

"Go away.. I'm going to sleep." Nara flicked her blanket to get Ammar out of there.

Ammar stood with a resigned face. I don't know when he can stop himself from treating Nara like a stranger.

...~~...

In his office, the Detective Trio was daydreaming while thinking hard. Ammar recounted the compelling reason he wanted to confirm Irene's death, a mole. But when investigated yesterday, the mole turned out to be just a black spot that was accidentally made by a corpse fairy.

"Eyliner... It wasn't a mole but an Eyeliner." Sandra murmured, they were run out in pranks by someone who was in control of the situation.

"Isn't that makeup for the eyes? Why get to the arm? Do you think it was completely unintentional?" Denying Sam is no less frustrating.

"Then why would he intentionally do that to a corpse? do you think the corpse fairy thinks every corpse is an art that can be scrawled carelessly? It was purely unintentional." Galih quashed Sandra and Sam's doubts.

"We'd better close this case. Just focus on finding out who imitated Irene's actions. I'm afraid he'll take as many victims as Irene." Said Sam throwing a pile of files into a storage box.

At 02:30...

An alarm on Ammar's phone rang, security sensors he installed on the rear fence catching someone trying to break into the grounds of the house.

Ammar immediately called the security guard on the front fence, ordering the officer to move secretly so that the person who broke in could be caught. Armed with a gun he went down to check.

Not wanting to make Nara wake up, he stepped slowly to get out of the room. He tiptoes so as not to cause a sound that can interfere with Nara's sleep.

Arriving outside the house, Ammar ordered two officers to inspect the south and north, while he headed west.

The atmosphere looked dark, he deliberately did not turn on the lights. While continuing to check the camera footage on the phone screen, Ammar stood guard with a gun in his right hand.

"Check the door in the side garden." said Ammar through the ear monitor.

Suddenly the alarm on Ammar's phone went off, indicating people had just breached the fence again. But Ammar didn't see anyone jump over the fence.

"Stay focused, he's trying to distract us." Ammar went back inside and checked the roof top.

Arriving at the roof top, Ammar checked all corners. Who would be the one who so deftly broke through the house? Surely the man was so professional that Ammar could not even monitor his movements through CCTV footage. The very dark atmosphere made Ammar had to open his ears wide to catch someone's footsteps.

HORN...

Unexpectedly, the tip of the gun was attached to the nape of Ammar complete with a bullet ready to shoot. Ammar was on the spot.
