I knew Reza was waiting for me until I finished decorating, and despite not saying anything, I knew she wanted us to go downstairs together, she said, let everyone see that our relationship is fine.
However, when we came out of the room, Ihsan's mess was holding me back. I asked Reza to come down first, while I approached Ihsan who was dumbstruck by herself on the front porch. He is neat with the appearance of office employees, with a long-sleeved plain shirt, his favorite gray color. Her eyes glazed over as she looked at me -- with puffy eyes that I couldn't cover even with mekap. "You cried all night?" tanyakanya.
"Not really," I said. "Only last night, and. this morning."
Ihsan's face turned red, the same color as the dress I was wearing that morning. "I'll kill him!"
Ihsan turned around and was about to descend. I quickly grabbed her hand and begged her to calm down. That expression again reminded me of the old High School days, when he protected me from the naughty teens that bothered me. But this time he was much more angry, even more angry than his anger at my father who came with Rhea first.
"Not that bad. It's just that I'm too emotional" I said.
Cupping both hands to my face, Ihsan looked at me. "I know this is wrong. But I want you to come home with me. I don't want you to suffer here."
"No. I'm not leaving" I said, holding her and lowering her hand that cupped my face. "I'll be fine. I have to solve my own problems."
Ihsan*. "Alright" he answered.
Not wanting to discuss this already very uncomfortable topic, I quickly said my request, "Ihsan, I want to...."
Ihsan grinned. "What?"
"Please, you apologize to Mas Reza. For me. I know you stood up for me, but." I shook my head, unable to finish my sentence. "I want you to make up."
Ihsan nodded. "I'll do. For your sake," he said.
Five minutes later, Ihsan and I went down. His anger has -- a little - muffled. As we were descending, Alfi and Reza were sitting on bar stools. While Mayra and Aarin were in the kitchen, preparing breakfast.
Mayra agrees with me. "But it's good to be put where?"
"Maybe we should turn the back porch into a dining room" Reza said. Then he spoke of his next ideas: breaking into the middle of the wall between the kitchen and the dining room - - by still leaving the upper and lower walls, and then, because it's a pity if you want to dismantle the drawer attached there. At that time I could imagine that it would look like a cafe-style interior. Then Reza added the idea to take advantage of the remaining space as a new terrace - which immediately merges with the children's pond on the right side, and the fish pond on the left side. Also put minimalist patio chairs in each terrace area. While in the middle - between the child's pond and the fish pond - - is left plong as a path to the backyard area.
"That sounds interesting. I think I like the idea. But by the way, Ihsan wants to talk to you."
For a split second, everyone gawked at the sudden diversion of the topic of conversation that I had triggered. It was as if the chat that had just happened was not enough to melt the atmosphere.
"Come on, don't be so tense."
Reza stood up from his chair and took Ihsan to the backyard. "Come," he said.
While they passed, Aarin's face instantly turned pale. "Is it okay, ma'am, we let them both?"
I'm nodding. "Hopefully safe, Rin. I've asked Ihsan to apologize."
"Hopefully" Mayra said. "I'm glad you guys made up."
I don't say -- don't agree, nor do I argue.
Reza and Ihsan returned after a few minutes. I knew Ihsan would not let me down, and even though I did not ask - Reza must have forgiven Ihsan and apologized to him as well. And despite not hearing what they were talking about, I'm sure - Ihsan must have delivered a few sentences in the form of "subtle threats" to his sister-in-law. While Reza must have just agreed, he wouldn't have denied it in the slightest.
- Even if accidentally, one day he must break it. Again.
