Nathan has now been transferred to the nursing room after the cornea transplant surgery has been completed. However, the bandage in the young man's eyes had yet to be opened. The plan today is scheduled to open soon to ascertain whether the operation was rejected or worked out perfectly.
Everyone in the room, Nathan no exception, looked alarmed. Their hearts beat uncharacteristically, feeling unsettled before knowing the success rate of the operation.
"Are you ready, Mr Nathan?" ask the doctor gently.
"Ready, Doc!" nathan said firmly.
"Are you ready to accept whatever the outcome will be?" the doctor asked again.
"Yes, Doc. I'm ready for whatever the outcome will be!" nathan, murantap.
"All right! then, you please relax first! once you're calm, we'll open the band,"
Nathan took a deep breath and exhaled it back outside. "I've calmed down, Doc," Nathan reopens.
"Ok, then I'll open it!" The doctor opened a bandage that closed Nathan's eyes very carefully. After arriving at the last layer, everyone's feelings grew even more uneasy.
"It's done! now open your eyes slowly" the doctor said.
Nathan did as the doctor ordered. When his eyes opened slightly, he already felt he could see a glimmer of light, not as dark as before the operation.
Now Nathan's eyes were completely wide open. The man circulated his gaze in all directions which seemed to be still very blurry.
"How, Son? can you see my mom?" asked Naura who was completely impatient.
"Why is it still blurry, Doc?"nathan asked, panicking.
"Let's close your eyes for a minute, then open them slowly again,"
Nathan did as the doctor asked. Nathan's dim vision began to function. The look on Naura's face, which was still blurry, gradually began to be seen clearly.
"I can see. I can see your face, Ma!" nathan's cheers were accompanied by a smile.
Tears and happy tears immediately dripped from Naura's eyes, hearing Nathan's words.
"Congratulations, Son. Congratulations!" naura said, hugging her son.
"I'm sorry, can I check it out for a second?" the doctor reopened his voice.
Naura immediately stepped aside and gave the opportunity for the doctor to do his job.
"Well, congratulations, Mr. Nathan, your operation for now can be said to be successful. However, I suggest that for the next few days, be well guarded. Do not press and do not wipe. In addition, avoid doing strenuous activities and maximize to lie down usually for 5-7 days. I'll give you some eye drops. You can use it, according to the doctor's advice. Do not drive a motor vehicle, and eat nutritious food and one more, do not smoke!
"Good,Dok. If you smoke, relax. I'm not a smoker" Nathan said. It was obvious that the young man was very happy now.
"Thank God! then I'll leave first, because I still have to deal with other patients. Tomorrow, I'm gonna do another checkup,"
"Good, Doc. Thanks again!" The doctor nodded his head, then passed away.
After the doctor left, Nathan immediately got congratulations from the people who were in the place. But when he saw his sister Nabila, the man immediately squinted his forehead, because he did not see the whereabouts of Nicholas.
"Bil, how can you be here? did you come alone?"
"Why can't I be here. I was of course worried and wanted to meet my sister who left not to say anything," Nabila pursed her lips. "I came here yesterday alone with Brother Nicholas, but somehow Sister Nicholas suddenly returned to Indonesia again" continued Nabila again.
"That donates corneas to the eyes, isn't Brother Nicholas, is it?" ask Nathan, was-was.
"No, Nath! Obviously, he didn't come here yesterday to be a donor. Papa asked her to go back to Indonesia, because there was a lot of work she had to do. But, you take it easy, he always asks how you are doing now. Later, papa will also contact him and share this good news," Rehan opened his voice, explaining.
"Nathan, congratulations!" suddenly a voice that Nathan had longed for was heard from behind Bastian and Dava.
"K-sister, Arsen?" nathan's eyes began to glaze over
Arsen stepped closer to Nathan and immediately hugged his youngest brother. Arsen broke his embrace and looked Nathan in the eye. The man was instantly unable to hold back his cries, as if it was not strong to see the eyes that Nathan was wearing. He hugged Nathan tightly.
"Sir Arsen, how can Big Brother be here? who told you I was in London?" nathan asked after Arsen returned to break his arms.
"No need for you to know where I know you're in London. Obviously, I'm happy to see you again" Arsen said.
Nathan again circulated his gaze, like he was looking for someone.
"What, Brother came alone?" tanyakanya. Somehow he hoped that his eldest brother Angga would come along, although it was quite impossible, considering that his eldest brother hated him so much.
"Yes, I came alone. Angga brother did not come because he was busy with his work," said Arsen, as understood the purpose of Nathan's question.
"Oh, like that?" said Nathan. There was a disappointed tone tucked inside the young man's speech.
"Oh yeah, I want to know who's really kind enough to give me his cornea? can you tell me now?" ask Nathan.
Everyone in the room looked at each other and their faces turned sad. Especially Naura. The middle-aged woman even turned her face away from crying. Yes, to be honest they all knew from Arsen, who the donor was, but to avoid the unwanted they agreed not to tell Nathan for a while, waiting for Nathan's eyes to fully recover.
They were afraid that Nathan would cry a lot, so that it could disturb his new cornea.
"Why doesn't anyone want to answer?" Nathan is back.
"Emm, obviously he's a good guy, son. Now you rest first. Remember the doctor said, you have to lie down a lot for maximum eye healing. Now, you're laying down first!" Naura tried to divert the conversation.
"But, Ma. I really want to know," Nathan looked puckish with his stance.
"Mamma promise, you'll find out soon enough. For now, please listen to your mother's words first. You have to be patient for a few days." persuaded Naura.
"But why wait a few more days? why not just now? is that person I know, so you're all afraid that I know, I'm so sad and crying?" guess Nathan made it all quiet.
"But, it's just that if you guys are like this, it makes me even more curious and curious. Please tell me, who is the donor?" Nathan urged again.
"Darling, please listen to me this time. If you love Mama, you must hear your words to be patient for a few days, "please Naura with a sad face.
"Alright, I will be patient," concluded Nathan finally relented, because he could not bear to see the face of his mother who was clear.
"Sorry, Son! mom can't tell you now. Not because you don't want to, but this is all for your good" said Naura, who only dared to say in her heart.
The Flashback
"A-Arsen!" naura muttered on the sidelines of her shock.
"Hi, Auntie!" greet Arsen by publishing a smile on his lips.
"Ba-how are you ... Don't tell me the donor is ...." Naura hung up her words, because she felt unable to hear that the donor was the person in her mind right now.
"Yes, Tan. What Auntie's mind right. Donating corneas to his eyes is Angga," said Arsen with watery eyes.
"Ja-don't tell me that Angga has ...." Naura again hung her words because she could not get out the words she wanted to say.
"Yes, like that, Tan. Brother Angga is no more," said Arsen trying to toughen up.

Congratulations to those who managed to guess that the donor is Angga. But, why can Angga? doesn't he hate Nathan so much?.🤔
