Word Division


All human languages are composed of three basic components:




Sound unit called “letah” or “abjad”.


Example: ⁇ – ⁇ – ⁇ – ⁇




The arrangement of letters that have a certain meaning is called “kata”.


Example: ⁇ (\= mosque)




A complete mind-containing set of words called “kalimat”.


Example: ⁇ ⁇ ⁇ ≠ (\= I pray in a mosque)






ISIM (∅ ) or “noun.”. Example: ⁇ (\= mosque)




FI’IL ( ⁇ Demon ) or “verbs”. Example: ⁇ ⁇ (\= I pray)




HARF (1 ⁇ ) or “task” words. Example: ⁇ (\= in, in)




The use of the terms Word Benda, Verb and Task Word in Indonesian grammar, is not exactly the same as Isim, Fi’il and Harf in Arabic grammar. But it can be used to bring understanding closer.
