It's been a month since I set foot in the most shitty academy I've ever known. I'll bet you, if I go to the academy on the fringes of my circumstances it would be much better. Many disciples did not have extraordinary or unique and special magic talents. I can certainly live happily in that simplicity.
Today is Saturday, a time for us to go through a period of orientation. This is my fourth week at Lixorth Academy, which means that now is the orientation schedule for every witch class. Visiting the headquarters of each class and learning more about witches is always done at the end of each month.
Grade Alpha.
Of course, the first class to be introduced was the number one class in the academy. Me and dozens of new disciples were now lined up in front of the Alpha headquarters which really looked like a manor. I also often hear that they call their own headquarters the Alpha Manor, or Alpha mansion.
Not wrong, anyway. Their headquarters had a multi-storey mansion-like design that was probably twice the width of my home in Colorado. Luxurious crossings lined the front entrance, passing through the small garden on the left and right side of the path leading to the main door.
“Welcome to Alpha headquarters,” said third-class senior Bridget Lyra. I can see the Alpha symbol-shaped pin on the collar of his uniform. Bridget ruffled her waist while looking at the gate towards the headquarters, looking amazed and proud. “We usually call it Manor Alpha.”
My eyes sparkled at the super luxurious headquarters with an ancient touch belonging to the Alpha class. I need to be able to get into Alpha class, which means I have to work harder so that my water magic can be on par with Father's or at least Mathias's. Also, I don't know what Dad would do to me if I couldn't get into this class.
Two third-year seniors who came from the Alpha class led our way from the gate all the way to the veranda. Bridget and Max introduce some important rooms around quickly like they don't want to repeat them again.
This manor has various facilities such as a hotel or luxury apartment. They have their own sports gor complete with fitness, large swimming pool, running track, soccer field, even horse stables and also a small field for riding.
Bridget and Max only show a few rooms, even they do not show the dorm room and Octavius Kyle's room. We were led straight to the seminar room with a large podium and projector screen in front surrounded by the audience seats around.
We orderly sat in the available seats, some of us could not stop being amazed by the Alpha Manor. Of course, this manor was very different from a first-year student dormitory.
About four Alpha class students gathered on the podium and looked like they were discussing something seriously. While we were, the first-year disciples were busy researching the situation and were unceasingly praising everything we saw.
“Alright, once again welcome to Manor Alpha.” This time Max took over the microphone. He stood tall in front of his other three friends, his gaze quickly scanning us from the left to the right end. “We are here who will introduce the number one class in the academy, Alpha. Our leader, Octavius Kyle, is on assignment outside the academy. So, we'll replace him.”
Bridget and her two other friends came forward and stood in line with Max. They also open a fairly wide distance from one person to the next. The man standing at the left end smiled obliquely. He stomped his right leg and instantly the seminar room shook. Then, the floor on the podium cracked and slowly the earthen fortress rose from the senior's footing towards the ceiling of the seminar. Standard earth magic tricks.
Bridget who was standing at the man's side brandished her hand to the roof, from afar I could see the air spinning into a kind of mini wind vortex. Max just plucked his finger and the flame was on the man's index finger. Lastly, the leftmost girl raised her palm upward and a round of water her fist formed. Beautiful and elegant.
“As you know, elemental is a basic magic talent that almost everyone has.” Max continued, his face was shaded due to the growing flames. “Then, that means you can all enter Alpha class, right? Of course not.”
The flame, which had only been at the base of Max's index finger, now extended to his fist until his wrist. Max still watched the fire quietly as the heat did not bother him at all. Max raised his other arm and lit another fire in the fist that was as big as the fire in his right hand.
Max smiled slightly and opened his arms wide, the next second the fire in Max's hand was ignited even bigger and spread to every corner of the seminar room around us. The room gradually heated up, my sweat began to wet the temples and neck, some disciples were busy watching the fire around and some were even rumbling to wipe away the sweat.
The water girl next to Max with a small whirlpool in her palm chuckled. Then, he closed the whirlpool ball with the other palm, as if he were holding a baseball. The girl acted like a pitcher, she was ready to throw a water ball in her grasp with high seriousness. Subconsciously, I also let out a tense breath.
He then threw the hand of water into the air into the middle of our seat and
BYUUR!
The heavy rain drenched us and slowly put out the fire around us. I heard some people laughing enjoying this show, but I took a piss. Yes, other than because my uniform was wet, I was also unsettled to see a strong water magic talent and could be well controlled by its users.
In a drenched state, I could see Bridget with a wind twist on her index finger coming into action. Now he floated a few meters and flew towards our seats. Bridget stopped right in the middle of the disciples, still in a flying state. I looked up to see Bridget up there, floating. After staring at us
Bridget continued to spin gracefully until the raindrops that fell followed in this round of great winds. I had difficulty maintaining the shape of my hair for fear of being sucked in this huge whirlwind.
WOOSH!
The wind was thrown in all directions, which pushed us hard into the backseat. My skin seemed to be pulled back, my eyes were sore from the wind and water, my hair was a mess, and my clothes were wet.
Seems like not enough, the last man of the land suddenly made the entire seminar room sway. Bridget flies across the audience seats back to the podium along with Max and his friend.
“Do not destroy the seminar room, Pedro.” Bridget gave a reprimand when she got on the podium.
“Can't? Then it won't be exciting.” Reply to the land man called Pedro slightly begging.
I swallowed spit. What the fuck?
A block of earth suddenly descended landing on the front seat, separating the audience seats with a podium. A large earthquake occurs when another rock falls on the ground. I have to hold my arm hard if I don't want to be knocked off the bench.
I was ready to protect my head in case this seminar room collapsed as the shaking slowly stopped. The seminar room was boisterous by the screeches and complaints of the new students. So did I. Unknowingly my breath was hunting as if I had just been chased by a stray dog and it looked very bad to me.
“Thanks, Pedro. If you don't stop, you can bury us in the ground at once.” Max's voice was very calm in the midst of the commotion.
I gasp. So do my other friends.
“You want to show off?” said the water girl I heard named Vivienne Wright.
“Just because you all show off, I also have to show off.” Reply Pedro a little did not accept because the action must be stopped by Max and his other friends.
Max clapped his hands loudly to attract the attention of everyone there including his colleagues who were arguing. Within seconds, the atmosphere calmed down. All the gazes headed to the podium. I know, we turned submissive because we were afraid that a second storm would hit us again. Well, yeah,
I can't blame my friends because I did the same.
“Well, New Disciple, as you have seen for yourself. Although elemental magic is the basic talent of magic of every magician, but only magicians with elemental talent as strong and as big as us can be accepted into.” Max with his flat voice suddenly continued the explanation that had been delayed due to the spectacle of talent
those seniors.
I'm sighing. Of course, Alpha-class elemental talents were as strong as them. Max's fiery streak, Vivienne's water, as big as Bridget's wind, and as strong as Pedro's land. Not to mention if they had any other magic talent other than this elemental basic talent. They all deserve to be accepted in this class. Francis Bancroft was also trained in Alpha class with an amazing talent for wind magic and he wanted me to be in this class.
Can, huh?
