Lixorth
Mathias

It doesn't feel like I've finally reached the end of the year that feels long enough for me. Just so you know, my life is boring. I mean, although it's fun to be adventurous with the community, the attention of that strict Union is destroying everything.

Plus I have to be extra careful taking out my natural magic if I don't want to be quickly captured by the Union. The more days, they cornered me. They were so curious about the natural magic that I mastered and that made me want to ignore them even more.

I live well with Uncle Billy when the community is on holiday. The rest, I live anywhere with the community. But, I know Silas is right. Yesterday, Silas and I –The Chief of the Explorers Witch Community— talked about my future situation. Yep, a topic I hate.

The point after that serious conversation, I agreed to choose this path. I hope I don't regret what I chose. Better stay away from Daddy and Mom now.

    “Mathias Bancroft.”

I looked up when my name was called. This big man in front of me seemed very interested in researching me. It had been more than ten minutes since we were both left in this forest, only now did he finally talk about what we were going to do.

“This time, you must wait earnestly. I don't want you to accidentally fail like the entrance exam yesterday.” Threaten the man who introduced himself as Instructor Snowden. “Now your second entrance exam will begin.”

Ha-has. Right enough. I decided to follow the advice of Professor Riggs and Silas who advised me to attend the academy instead of living in the pursuit and shackles of Dad out there. Today, the academy will hold a special entrance exam for me. Actually I know that this is all just a formality, Professor Riggs himself asked me to come in. But, I also agree about this mock exam. It feels strange to just enter without an exam.

This second entrance exam is very simple. I just need to paste the academy's official stamp on Instructor Snowden's forehead and finish. Easy, right? Of course not. From what Silas said, Instructor Snowden came from the Beta class and several times obtained the highest marks.

The afternoon breeze at the Lixorth Academy Education Complex was indeed refreshing. The smell of wet soil and leaves fused into one. It doesn't feel good if I have to ruin it a little bit here.

While I was still enjoying the afternoon atmosphere while thinking, Instructor Snowden suddenly darted forward before me without any cue. Her body was three times bigger, her muscles were sticking out, her body was suddenly towering, and I saw fangs from her mouth. He seemed to have just changed his physical form into a ferocious muscular bear. Of course without feathers all over his body.

I jumped as high as I could then started to float and fly. Body shape transformation. It looks like it's Instructor Snowden's magic talent. It was like being an angry bear. In that case, he would definitely not be able to fight in the air, right?

A thin grin was engraved on my mouth. Good then.

The wind gathered around me quickly as I began to summon wind magic. I only need to shoot him once, but my strength must be great.

“Down here, basic man wind.” Raung Instructor Snowden. Even his voice already resembled the roar of a tiger and an angry bear.

Then, Instructor Snowden jumped up and climbed up the trees. His claws stuck into the tree trunk and he quickly climbed to the top while continuously growling. I could see saliva coming out of the corner of his mouth, like an angry dog.

It's critical. I don't think he's this crazy. But I can master the magic of nature.

The tree on which he stood slowly moved to the right and left like it was releasing the grip of Instructor Snowden. The tree is wrapped and shrinking. Instructor Snowden looked shocked then his grasp just slipped off. Nimblely hurriedly jumped onto another tree trunk and returned to the ground.

“Well, this is what I've been waiting for.” Instructor Snowden looked excited from down there.

I flew higher then sent my natural magic at once. The roots of the tree started sticking out from within the ground and chased after Instructor Snowden mercilessly.

The agility of my opponent really irritated me. He jumped, rolled, shifted, then repulsed the roots of the trees with an incredible rhythm. A roar was heard all over the forest.

It's not time he won. Other roots rose up and returned to the same attack. Back then, I was completely focused on my assault side. After all, Instructor Snowden was in a dangerous position. But, I was wrong.

    Byurs!

God fucking. Water slapped my face. Feels shitty. For a few seconds I had to adjust my vision and try to breathe.

    Byurs! Byurs!

“Down here!” pekik Instructor Snowden. His voice blared through the forest.

I coughed several times resisting the choking sensation of water and flew higher.

     Sreth!

Something grabbed my right arm. His sharp nails pierced my skin mercilessly and within a split second, I was slammed directly into the ground.

Ugh. My body felt like it was being electrocuted but with an unusually big bang because I felt pain radiating from the legs to the crown. My view blurred. Oh, urgent. Don't tell me I lost with just one slam?

Even though it felt painful, I hurriedly sent a huge wind towards the opponent for him to immediately move away. Originally Instructor Snowden tried to endure his physicality, but over time he was knocked back by my wind.

Lfs nice. I gather all my magic energy and send wind magic towards the opponent. Mercilessly. Not as big as Dad's, but enough to get Instructus Snowden cornered. With this, he would be busy maintaining his balance while restraining the wind's pace.

I got up slowly. My energy is running out. I don't know how many more minutes I can still maintain this consciousness of mine, while Instructor Snowden doesn't look tired at all. It is not time for me to think about the opponent. I have to maximize what I can do now.

With magic energy left in me, I summoned nature magic. The trees around seemed to answer the call to rise. Not as strong as usual. No problem, as long as it's enough to attack.

I took a deep breath. This wind impulse I can't hold on much longer and I'm ready for my next magic. I'm gonna stop this now. The wind magic cornered Instructor Snowden slowly stopped, just as the tree roots rose to the ground level. In a matter of seconds, the tree root I summoned wrapped around Instructor Snowden then pulled him down into the underground.

Instructor Snowden rebelled wildly, but too late. His entire body was trapped underground. Only his head was on the surface.

I smiled a big smile, even though I actually did not have the energy to go to him.

No, Mathias. Finish it first, then you can sleep.

Slowly, I galloped towards Inspector Snowden who was watching me being coed. I forced my consciousness to stay awake while I grasped the stamp. I can't believe fighting a witch like Instructor Snowden is really exhausting. I can't protest because it's also part of the entrance exam and I have to be this serious about it.

“Oke, welcome to Lixorth Academy, Mathias Bancroft.” Instructor Snowden announced in a formal tone after I tucked his forehead. Geez, even though I could hear the irritated tone of not accepting that he lost. Instructor Snowden twisting eyeballs, “Now, release me.”
