Lixorth
Mathias

If only I could use Mom's magic talent, I would be able to fly without being caught by humans. But, forget it. The chaos that engulfed the house would soon be covered by the TV and this news would reach the ears of the American Magic Union.

I had to escape from the house before that happened, because if the Magic Union had intervened, I would continue to be watched, even quarantined if necessary. Alison must be dealing with Mom and Dad right now, which makes my heart heavy. I shouldn't have abandoned my brother, even though I knew him

can take care of himself.

Father's magic is powerful, I have to fight it seriously, after all my magic type is the same as Father's. Alison with water magic talent that is much weaker than me will stand no chance. Ah, I'm not feeling good about Alison's fate.

If Alison is going to be sent to Norway, it will be delayed. The American Magic Union will be busy taking care of the mammoth who suddenly appears in my house first, he said, at least Alison will be sent to another magic academy in a remote place until all these mysteries are revealed.

The sun began to rise and I was still leaning against the tree trunk, listening to the whistling of the flying birds and feeling the morning breeze. Now Alison's not with me, which means I can fly to San Diego without bothering to think about transportation and money. My only problem was one, I had to fly under my father's radar.

“Mathias? What are you doing here?” uncle Billy's forehead puckered looking at me at his doorstep with a smile as wide as I could. But, it's free. I thought he would return my smile then pat my shoulder while screeching ‘Mathias!' Nice to see you again!’. Yeah, I know, that's bullshit.

“Can I come in first, Uncle?”

Uncle Billy's deepening the frown on his forehead. This way he can look older than you. He looked at my face, looking for anything suspicious, he also had time to examine my entire body hoping to find some kind of gun or knife?

He pulled the folding knife I had hidden in the pocket of his jeans while looking at him in disgust. Uncle Billy weighed the folding knife at a glance then looked at me full of question marks and intimidating. Before I was even expelled, I hurriedly said, “That's just an ordinary knife. Self defense.”

“What do you want?” uncle Billy asked, his face getting serious. He hid my folding knife behind his slightly stocky body.

    “Can't we talk inside?”

“No.” I sneered. “I escaped from home.”

Hearing that, Uncle Billy's eyebrows rose next to his astonishment. “You? Why can?”

“Ingin only.” Answer me as it is.

Uncle Billy was originally silent a thousand languages. He continued to watch my suspicious gestures as if I were an ******** that would blow up inside his house. Well, I can't say Uncle Billy was completely wrong. Dad destroyed his old house. So, it's natural that he did this to me.

Still with sharp eyes, Uncle Billy finally turned around and how surprised I was if he did not close the door. “Log.”

     I comply.

I plan to reveal everything to Uncle. Including my plan to dig up information about one of the witch communities I've been looking for. I was sitting in the middle room facing the television that was displaying animal hunting in Africa. Uncle Billy didn't bully me, he walked past me like I was just the wind. He made no sound, did not ask, and did not give me his attention.

    “Uncle?” i'm embarking.

“You can sleep here for a few days.” That sentence just came out of Uncle Billy's mouth that really made me confused. “The room here is full, so I allow you to sleep on the living room sofa.”

     Doesn't matter.

Uncle Billy's in Seattle. Since that day, we've never had any contact with Uncle Billy.

It's six o'clock in the afternoon. The sun was already hiding behind the darkness of the night. Time is really slow, especially for me. For the past few hours I have only been able to watch television. I wanted to discuss a lot of things with Uncle Billy. He was busy in his room doing nothing and left me alone downstairs.

The sound of footsteps rang out making the wooden stairs squeak. My smile expands. Finally, Uncle Billy came out of his lair. I tried to make my face look as flat as possible before I got up and stood in front of Uncle Billy.

    “Uncle, I want—”

“See this.” Uncle Billy threw a beige mail envelope at me which I swiftly caught. He then walked past me to the kitchen to get some orange juice in the fridge.

Cream colored letter envelope. Looks familiar to me. I flipped through the envelope trying to find the name of the sender. I hope this isn't a letter from Alison telling me she got a ticket to Norway.

I pushed that horrible thought out of my head while patting my forehead a few times. My eyes refocused on the envelope, but the results were nil. No name of the sender. I turned it over once more and I just realized what I saw. In front of the letter was the stamp mark of Lixorth Academy. This was the official stamp of the academy, but perhaps the ink had already run out to the point that it only looked faint.

“Letter from academy.” Uncle Billy said from the kitchen after guessing that I just found the stamp. “For you.”

“Forku?” I repeated the doubt. “But, I've received a letter not passing the exam from the academy.”

    “Bukalah.”

I obeyed what Uncle Billy said and tore off the side of the beige envelope. Sure enough, inside was a letter that looked the same as the letter I had received. Lazily, I took the letter.

“What does he say?” uncle Billy asked a little interested despite his bored expression.

The letter paper looked dull compared to the last letter sent to my house. Is the academy party messing with me now? And again surprisingly, why could a letter for me get by Uncle Billy? How did the academy know I ran away? Why not send it home?

    Oh, ja.

    My house, it's ruined.

The writing on this dull letter looked like an ordinary but beautifully written scrap of pen ink. The letters are neatly linked. I read it fast because I want this stupid charade to end.

My eyes widened after reading the last sentence in the letter. This isimpossible.

“What does he say?” ask Uncle Billy again. He put away his bottle of orange juice and looked at me seriously.

My head suddenly got dizzy. Either because of the news I just read or because I haven't eaten.

I squeezed the letter hard almost making it shrivel like a paper ball. My anger rose instantly.

“Says I was accepted into Lixorth.” Academy
