Mathias

My existence was already known to the American Magic Union, more precisely by my father. But, beyond estimation, they didn't hunt me down at all. Though, I already thought I would be chased, surrounded, forcibly crippled, even kidnapped suddenly by the Witch's Peacekeeping Force.

Silas is right, they just want to know where I am. After they confirmed that I was in a community that was still within the grasp of the Union, they only watched from afar. I'm very grateful, of course. I was still able to follow various activities with the Witch Explorers Community for several months

fore.

I hope, anyway, the Union gave permission so that I can officially not have to get an education at the magic academy. I also learned by being part of a community. But, about this I can't be sure.

Who knew they'd kidnap me next month? Well, I still don't want to take a headache.

I entered my second month with the community. We just landed in Sao Paolo, Brazil last night and we were given time to relax. I used this time to calm my mind in the hotel fitness room while running on the treadmill.

“Hah? The Witch Security Force? You serious?”

     “They will arrive tomorrow morning.”

“You what are they? Want to show off power?”

“Do not know. Silas didn't say.”

My eyebrows rose when I heard the chatter of the community members in the back. Slowly, I pressed the button to slow down my running pace while putting on a fine ear. Usually good information is obtained from people's gossip.

“But, it has to do with the new kid who was taken in California, right?”

     “I heard, anyway, so.”

     “What relationship?”

“That boy, right, the golden boy in the States now.”

    “That's right?”

I grunt. Do they know how much I hate the words golden boy? During school, I always got that title. Elite golden boy of the Magic United States of America, golden boy Francis and Lindsey Bancroft, special golden boy, and other stupid nicknames.

It's true, when compared to Alison, my talent is growing much faster than hers. Alison mastered elemental magic much earlier than me, but she had a hard time developing. As for me, my magic talent develops rapidly and promises with age. That's what made me do what I did in the academy entrance exam.

I turned off the treadmill and jumped up and left the place without ever showing my face to them. Just let them gossip about me as they please. To be honest, I still wanted to eavesdrop further, but after hearing the golden boy's insinuations, I automatically wanted to leave from there.

The hotel looks quiet tonight. In addition, we chose a hotel that people rarely visit as our stopover in Brazil, so almost half of the visitors in this hotel are community witches. The witch talk bothers me. Especially if the discussion is about the American Magic Union where Francis and Lidsey Bancroft are one of the officials there. Rather than me not being able to sleep all night, I decided to visit Silas' room.

“Mathias Bancroft?” one of the tall young men blocked my way who was about to climb the stairs. He wears a white shirt with a sky-blue striped tie and a deep yellow, thin dark-blue cardigan covering his shirt except for the collar and neck. Without even asking, I knew who he was. That color pattern is the color of the American Magic Union.

     We're with each other

stare for a few moments until I grumble and shift one step into

side then preceded him up the stairs no matter what he would be

tell the.

“Hurry to go where, Mathias?” Silas who was at the end of the stairs stood up. He smiled slightly at me, then his eyes turned to the young man United who was also looking up at me and Silas. Although Silas seemed ordinary, I knew that he was reprimanding me right now. I

prefer to be rebuked with a firm reprimand rather than subtle but painful innuendo. And from that, I shriveled.

“I didn't expect to actually be able to meet Mathias here. I guess it's all just wind news.” Said the young man. He watched me from head to toe with a bright expression. It makes my hair stand up. His smile rose suddenly as he extended a hand. “It's nice to meet you, Mathias. I'm Zavier Lotts.”

    I don't like him.

My shoulder was nudged a little harder by Silas until I almost hit Zavier, but my good balance saved myself. Silas laughed awkwardly and loudly at my side, “He's talking to you, Mathias.”

Oh, ja. Of course I know. I'm not deaf.

Zavier pulled his arm and now he stood clumsy. Good though. Witches with faces that are often clumsy like this do fit the role of stupid and awkward, not dashing like the other Witch Security Forces. Zavier just nodded and glimpsed at me. Now, his gaze was different. “Long time I want to meet the children of Francis and Lindsey Bancroft.”

I stared back at him fiercely. What is so great about Francis and Lindsey Bancroft in the American Magic Union that they treat me like this? I know their magic is powerful, but they don't deserve to be praised and treated like this.

“Come, we chat elsewhere.” Silas finally led me and Zavier along with Silas' right arm grabbed my arm and his left arm pushed Zavier.

I let Silas pull me as he pleased out of the hotel door and wander the front yard until we arrived in the backyard close to the pool. There, Silas just let go of me and Zavier together like he was pushing me and Zavier away from himself full of emotion. Wasn't he the one who just said that I should show some courtesy to the guests? While himself origin pushing and pulling Zavier. Unfairly.

“Lucky once you came when we were about to look for you.” said Silas pointing at me with his gaze. Oh, fine. I was really unlucky. Silas pointed his index finger at Zavier then looked at me and the young man took turns. “Mr Zavier Lotts has something to say to you.”

“You will join the Witch Relief Force for a few weeks.” Zavier flat. The face full of smiles like that of a fool had vanished and all I could see was the look of a seriously high face. Want to not want me to be tense and also getting goiter.

I'm riding a pitam. What the fuck?

“You must have known that you are indeed under the supervision of the American Magic Union at this time. The Union will not ask you to leave the community, but since you are not in school either, it will be difficult for the Union to measure your magic abilities. Therefore, the Society decided to test your magic skills by including you in the Witch Security Force. Only for one week every two months.”

“Yang is right.” I chuckled cynically in disbelief at what I had just heard with my own two ears. It's outrageous. Do they have to do this just to keep me who has this rare talent under their watch? If this is the story, why would I bother running away from Dad? My boiling blood channeled a turbulent fury. I glanced at Silas inexhaustibly, “You think this is a joke?”

Silas shrugged his shoulders relaxed. “I told you, right? If this is a United order, I can't say no.”

I felt like throwing a brick in his face smashed the look of his face pretending not to know it.

Zavier smiled again. He must be happy because Silas and I could not dwell on the authority of the Society at all. Even if I run away now, where am I going? And again, Zavier Lotts, one of the members of the Witch Security Force whose magic talent alone I don't know about. He is definitely a powerful wizard.

I sighed loudly. My decision to come to the Explorers Witch Community may not be the right one. I think the Unions don't care about this community because they care more about sponsoring other groups like the Witch's Religious Army. They only care about everything that can give them more

there is a lot of power in the magic world of America. An explorer magician with a hobby of traveling the world while collecting scrolls? Not their style.

But, wait. It's all because of me. If I hadn't come to this community, where might Dad be interested. I'm stupid. Why don't I think clearly and more carefully?

“Do not worry, our first mission starts the day after tomorrow.” Tukas Zavier gave his thumbs up while smiling obliquely.

I'm looking down in despair. Zavier likes him because he's gonna bully me. Francis will love it because I'm getting closer to him.

     I hate all this.
