Losing Us

Losing Us
She Still His Number One

Anara woke up from her sleep because her phone was roaring ever since. Normally, he would activate silent mode at night. But since Arsenio hasn't come home yet and she's not sure if the man is carrying a spare key, then Anara accidentally activates the ring mode to let her know if Arsenio is calling.

And sure enough, the man actually called her at half an hour in the morning.

“Halo, Arsenio.” She held it with a hoarse voice and eyes that were not yet fully open.

“Gue in front, please open the door.”

“Iya, wait.”

Beeping. Anara's phone just put it on the bed, then she with eyes that were still half-brim running out of the room.

One lamp near the stairs he turned on, to make it easier for him to see the road he was about to pass. Then, he tried to swing a step wider so as not to make Arsenio wait too long outside the house. The weather lately is cold, pity if her husband was too long exposed to the night wind.

Handle was grabbed, the door was opened wide so that Arsenio could enter immediately. Anara did not expect that she would get a friendly look or anything from Arsenio, but she also never expected that her husband would come home, late at night while carrying his lover who is in high condition. Luckily he refused Mother's desire to accompany him here. If he accepts, what will happen? How does Mother react if she knows her favorite son is like this?

"Thanks, though,"

Anara only responded with a nod of her head, then she closed the door and locked it back. "I went straight back to my room, yeah. If you need help, knock on my door." He said after turning his back to look at Arsenio.

Arsenio also just nodded, so without saying much more, Anara walked ahead. It is better that he immediately go back to the room and go to sleep, before his random thoughts make his feelings come back.

While Anara had moved on, Arsenio was still standing at the door with Olin increasingly unconscious in her cradle. The man was fixated, looking at Anara's back which slowly drifted away before finally disappearing behind the bend.

For a moment, Arsenio pondered back to what had happened between them all along. His unilateral decision to touch Anara that night, until his high confidence considers that he is able to be a good husband for Anara. When Anara said to assume nothing had happened to them that night, Arsenio felt angry. But now, after he thought back, it was only natural for Anara to make that decision. In fact, he still cannot take responsibility as a husband. He still always cared more about Olin, and forever probably will remain so.

"Aight, let's pretend that nothing happened." He muttered, and then he swung a lousy step carrying Olin's increasingly heavy body.
