Losing Us

Losing Us
All For The Baby

Since knowing the gender of their prospective child is a girl, Arsenio so excited once shopping for baby clothes and various colorful funny accessories. Almost every day, the man came home from the office carrying new groceries. Stocked in Anara's room which is planned to be converted into a nursery.

Anara herself was tired of asking Arsenio to stop. Every time he was reprimanded, the man would say that it would not hurt to waste money on the behalf of their first child.

Like tonight, the man came carrying two large paper bags. It contains several sets of expensive brand new born clothes, several pairs of shoes and special baby hair accessories.

In an excited spirit, the man began to explain the reason why he bought the items. Each item had a philosophy, which in the end made Anara only able to listen while occasionally sighing softly.

What is so special about every piece of clothing that will only be worn a few times?

“Omong-by the way,” Arsenio stopped his chatter about the philosophy of clothes. For a moment, the man gushed his body so that he could look at Anara who was standing on the side of the bed. “We have to prepare a name for baby.”

Ah, name. Anara has not thought at all. The focus so far has only been on how the baby in the womb can grow well and healthy. After all, only one time USG, it is not impossible that the results are wrong, right?

“If you don't have a name yet, let me give you a name for our baby. How?” bargain Arsenio. The man's enthusiasm radiated through his two eyeballs sparkling like incandescent lights.

“As of you. I haven't thought of finding a name.” Anara Pasrah. Seeing Arsenio who seemed to be quite sure about the choice of name he had made him not have the heart to refuse. After all this child was also Arsenio's flesh blood, so at least let the man contribute.

“OK!” sahut Arsenio with passion.

The man then pulled out his cell phone from his pants pocket, checking the note he had left there a few days earlier. In that note, he had prepared several name choices. His smile was glimpsed as he looked back at those beautiful names.

“Gue has several names, try lo denger and which values are better suited to our baby name.” Her speech.

Anara nodded, the omen ready to listen.

“The first, Eclessia Noel Galandra. The second, Neul Audrey Galandra. The third Elana Miriam Galandra.” Three names finished with Arsenio's big smile as the cover. “Which package?”

Anara paused for a moment to think. All three sound pretty. Arsenio seemed to have spent a lot of time thinking about it.

“The first one sounds the best.” He said after thinking seriously.

Arsenio flicked her finger while exclaiming gleefully. “We're through! I'm also more of the same first.” His word.

Only a faint smile could Anara give in response. Well, actually, he's a little impressed. Because this is the first time I have the same thoughts as Arsenio. Usually, they argue more even for trivial things.

Oh, can being a parent make two people who were in the opposite camp finally turn into friends?

If yes, good too.

“Eclessia Noel Galandra.” Arsenio again muttered the name of their future child. Then suddenly, her smile was as bright as the first bud of a red rose.

It was the widest smile Anara had ever seen in knowing Arsenio, so that night, she captured that moment in her head. Keep it for him to remember even though the future still looks gray in his eyes.

...****************...

I don't know how many times Arsenio mentioned the name of their prospective child since they first sat on the mattress. Occasionally the man also looks busy looking at his cellphone, which when Anara peep turned out to be looking for decorating ideas for the nursery.

Men who initially did not want the presence of children in the womb, now even look so enthusiastic to welcome the birth of the little creature into the world. It felt like a dream, like he was living in a fairyland where things were going in an absurd way.

Since marrying Arsenio, Anara no longer dares to expect much of anything. So when he felt the man's enthusiasm start to overdo it, he became frightened.

Someone once told him that storms can sometimes come on even sunny days. He gave no signs. Just came all of a sudden to tear everything apart.

Anara was worried that there would be a huge storm coming if she let her guard down just a little. Moreover, it had been several days that he no longer got terror from Olin. It felt quite awkward to find that stubborn girl giving up just like that.

“Short of pink or sea blue yes about?” the question made Anara turn her head back to the side.

To him, Arsenio showed him an example of a nursery with different decorations. The first is full of pink with all the cute accessories such as Hello Kitty dolls, Barbie and so on. While the second is light blue with ornaments of the sea and various satellites on the wall.

Since Anara is not a 100 percent feminine woman, her direct pink color is eliminated. The existing doll accessories also feel too excessive. Making the original room spacious even so it looks narrow and stuffy.

“Light blue, more neutral.” His advice.

Once again, Anara was made to gasp as Arsenio nodded her head. In one day, they agreed twice. What a record.

“Lusa I call the handyman to repaint. I also bought a baby box, I put it in Mother. New plan I want to bring here if the room is finished in kekor.” Arsenio.

Anara Iya-yeah only. After all, he just accepted the results without having to bother to spend energy. Whatever it is, as long as it's best for her son, Anara will follow suit.

“Udah night, mending you save the hapenya we keep sleeping. You said tomorrow there's an early meeting with a client from Japan, right? Will bother business if you are late.” Anara.

Arsenio glanced at the top of her phone to look at the clock. Sure enough, the time has shown at 11 past 25 minutes. It turned out that he was too engrossed in the scroll until he was unaware that time had passed for quite a while.

Getting rid of his phone, Arsenio begins a routine ritual before going to bed. Swiping Anara's stomach a few times, saying good night to the baby, then sprinkling a kiss of affection on Anara's stomach as a last touch.

But tonight, there was a slight change in the ritual. Instead of lying down immediately after kissing Anara's stomach, Arsenio inching to give another kiss on her forehead.

Women are clearly not ready. His body stiffened instantly feeling the warmth of Arsenio's lips lingering long enough on his forehead. The rhythm of his heartbeat increased rapidly, even with blood flow that was as fast as lightning made his cheeks flushed.

“Good night, Mom.” Arsenio said after distancing herself.

“O-oh, yes ... good night, Papi.” Anara's reply was full of clumsiness and misdeeds.

Ow hell! It can't be like this! Just think about the baby! Anara cried in her heart. While Arsenio was already lying in her position, closing her eyes, with a smile that was still burning.

Seriate....
