LOVATY 1.0
The Creative Department

Tap tap tap

The sound of footsteps could be heard from a pair of light brown shoes with three-centimeter heels. Relaxing steps that echo along the 7th floor hallway. The move led him into a room that read Creative Department at his door.

Just as a few pairs of eyes looked towards him. They exchanged greetings with a small smile, the woman continued walking. He stopped at a table at the end of the room with the signboard Calya Shalitta Creative Director displayed there.

Putting his beige Givenchi on the table. Remove the smartphone and switch to a computer on the left side of the table. Another woman came to the table. The 27-year-old woman, 160cm tall, sat in a chair across the table and started talking.

“Did you see?” tanyakanya. Calya glanced at the woman while again asking “See what?” The woman, Qeiza looks very excited when answering “LOVATY.”

But the interlocutor does not look too excited about the topic they are talking about, heard from his tone when answering “Yeah. They rejected our proposal and chose to use that simple advertisement. Such a wise decision, doesn’t it?”

“Really!” Qeiza sighed. Realize that they are discussing the same topic but with different points. While Calya was unaware of the difference and kept talking

“Maybe Klandestin spend almost the entire budget on LOVATY, so they save the budget for advertising?” he leaned against the chair while putting his left arm over the handle of the chair.

“Well, who cares about their budget. Hey Cal! That's not what I meant!” the woman replied, really not interested in the word –, said Calya who smelled of work.

Hearing Qeiza's response made Calya again ask “So?” he said, raising his left hand. Starting to not understand the direction of this coworker's conversation.

“LOVATY!” Qeiza reaffirmed, hoping that Calya understood. But not “Ya, then?” the woman began to look impatient.

Qeiza leaned her body towards the table. Raise both hands with both elbows attached to the table and continue the conversation.

“Look at social media? Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, all at the LOVATY conference. Ni ya anyway we.. you and I. we.. it can not miss,” he continues to talk while moving – move both hands, too excited.

“Seriously? You can still discuss that while we have failed one tender with the opposing company?”  this time it was Calya who was upset, it seemed like only she responded to this job really – really.

“We just lost one right, the company has not collapsed. After all our projects are also still a lot,” Qeiza rests her back on the chair, too relaxed.

“OK. Because our poject is still a lot, Art Director mother Qeiza Oksana please return to work,” Calya ended their conversation with a command. Qeiza is very understanding with aba – aba given, quickly he replied “Oke boss!” he got out of his chair and went back to his desk.

Every morning atmosphere in the Creative Department always begins with a chat about hot topics. Wh why? First, as employees who work in an advertising company it is very important for them to know the development of trends that occur around them.

Second, as normal ordinary humans they definitely need communication or more accurately called –ngerumpi-. But it only happens in between – between their working hours. While for companies like Parama Ad, between – between working hours can sometimes be very little.

“Everything we meet in 10 minutes.”

The words that have often been heard by the staff are a sign for them to speed up whatever they are doing. Typing faster, printing faster, doubling faster, or whatever it is all done faster.

No exception for Calya herself, she is busy preparing all – files that will be discussed during the meeting. He didn't realize ten minutes had passed and everyone had left the room except him.

In the meeting room all the staff take turns to convey the ideas they have prepared for the upcoming – project. When all was done the atmosphere turned silent.

They were all nervously looking towards someone whose facial expression looked flat. Calya, the Creative Director. The woman breathed a heavy sigh.

“At the beginning of the month I have announced a list of projects that we must win, now it is almost two weeks and where is the progress? Layout that you leave to me criticized out – exhausted by management.”

the initial sentence he said explained the atmosphere of silence that had occurred.

All the staff were silent and just lowered their heads. Some were seen looking to his left and right sides.

“Should I repeat again what is the most important thing we have to do in order to win clients?” Calya who did not respond back to speak “Davidya, how long have you interned here?”

All the staff had understood the direction of this conversation, which was why they were just silent. Silence that makes Davidya more nervous, with doubt – hesitates he replied “Three months mbak.”

Calya again asked “What is your answer?”

Davidya tries to answer “Fresh ideas that are in accordance with the wishes of the client.”

“Ide – fresh ideas to suit clients' wishes. The most important thing to remember to win clients is an idea, more than an idea. If it is not the first idea they can choose the second idea or so, the point is not to let the client pass to another company. But that's not to say because of quantity you've forgotten the quality of the idea!”

Calya quickly adds to Davidya's not entirely wrong answer that the question is not a test but a bridge to connect the next sentence she will say.

“Wikan, what kind of idea should we give?” the next bridge was addressed to other interns.

“A unique idea, according to the trend and can attract market interest,” Wikan replied as soon as possible.

“Don't the – people in this room have the appropriate qualifications for it? Or am I misjudging you guys?”

Calya ended her long series of talks with a sentence of affirmation. That may sound like a question, but no one in the room wants to answer it.

“Remember that our department is a machine from the company. If we move slowly the company will fall. If our performance is not the maximum the company will fall. We have an important task to keep the company ahead, and that's not just a task for some people but all. Whether it's old staff or interns, you all have to work actively here. Understand?”

I don't know how many times Calya has to remind them of this and she really hopes this will be the last time.

“Understanding!” the answers of all the staff made the woman sigh again. This time it was tough for him too. With the workload they had coupled with their company's big name, he didn't want to let his staff experience a performance downturn. Making sure everyone is working as they should is his job as Creative Director.

“Then please go back to work and I want to see your progress this weekend.”

All the staff came out of the meeting room in a bad mood. Everyone would not feel happy after attending a meeting filled with - chirping-.

At least some understand, the old staff who have often faced situations like this. But not for the interns, they got together and started complaining. One of them started to take a long breath.

“Poor meeting atmosphere!” David started to complain.

“They say things like this are common, especially when we lose a project,” Rana responds to Davidya's complaint by giving him information, it's possible that his friend will understand.

“Not that we just lost one project huh? LOVATY is it?” ask Davidya who still does not understand the situation.

“Stay, she’s not gonna miss even one small thing!” rana replied.

“Indeed Calya is always that strict huh?”

"You want to hear something?” The only – male interns started interrupting their conversation.

One sentence from Wikan managed to make the two girls interested “What?”ask them both.
