My Husband's Love Is Not For Me

My Husband's Love Is Not For Me
06. The Perputunksa

Oddie is terrified when Nathan takes him to his room. The last two years, if Nathan had taken him like this, the next scene would have been tipped with brutal torture from Nathan. Oddie kept his head down, resigned with a punch that could at any time land on his body.

But today seems a little different. Because Nathan just kept quiet without doing anything. The man stood his back to Oddie. Trying to contain his anger because they are currently at his grandfather's house. If not, there must be more carved wounds on Oddie's body that is already full of reproach.

"Do you know your mistake?" ask Nathan.

The sound was still as flat and cold as ever. It makes Oddie skinned even though Nathan isn't looking at him.

"I know" Oddie replied.

Although Oddie is not wrong, but in the eyes of Nathan Oddie will always be wrong and forever will remain so. So rather than dodge saying Kirana deliberately pushed him to anger Nathan, Oddie preferred to give in.

"What?" ask Nathan.

"Make you ashamed" replied Oddie.

"Other times you won't be so lucky. Do you understand?" ask Nathan.

Nathan turns around, approaching Oddie who is still watching what Nathan has to say. Oddie, for the first time, dared to look at her husband's face and answer Nathan's question with a longer answer. "I don't want to embarrass you either. So next time don't take me anywhere" replied Oddie.

Nathan who heard the answer smiled with one eyebrow raised. "Next time don't take you anywhere? Do you think I'll take you away with me again next time?" ask Nathan.

"I'm just reminding. Who knows you forgot" replied Oddie. Oddie takes off the suit Nathan gave him. Giving it to Nathan without saying a word and turning his back to Nathan grew angry.

"I'm home" said Oddie.

Oddie took a few steps. But his desire to go home seemed to have to be postponed because someone had already knocked on the door of the room. She is Leah, a confidant of Grandpa Moeis who was accidentally sent by Grandpa Moeis. The man was not alone, because behind him were four maids carrying toiletries as well as a change of clothes for Oddie.

"Why are you here?" ask Nathan.

"The Great Lord asked us to drop off a change of clothes for Miss Oddie, Young Master!" answer Leah.

"Let's put it there!" said Nathan.

Leah who knew very well how Nathan's temperament was just smiling. Then ask the four maids to put down the items they brought. But after that Leah did not go immediately because there was a task that Grandpa Moeis gave her.

"Young Master Nathan, the Great Lord is calling you now," said the woman named Leah politely.

"Where?" ask Nathan.

"In his private room" replied Leah.

"I'll be there soon" Nathan said. Nathan glanced at Oddie before he went to see his grandfather. Giving out a code of threat through the look in his eyes if he dared to speak carelessly.

"Help Miss Oddie in the shower" Leah said after Nathan exited her room.

The four maids obeyed Leah's word, but Oddie politely declined. "Wait, that's not necessary. I can shower myself!" Oddie.

"Sorry, but this is an order!" said Leah.

"But, but,-"

"Don't be afraid, we're just helping you clean yourself and change your wet clothes so you don't catch a cold" Leah said.

Oddie could no longer resist. He could only resign as the four maids took him to the bathroom and began to take off his outer clothes.

Leah watched Oddie closely, approached and surrounded Oddie to examine the scarred body. Grandpa Moeis actually did not just ask Leah to send her a change of clothes. But also check on Oddie.

"Help her take a shower. After that take him to see the Great Lord," Leah said.

"Wait!" Oddie.

"What's up, Miss Oddie?" ask Leah.

Leah simply smiled then gave the code to the four people to continue their duties. "Don't worry!" said Leah.

Leah immediately came out of the bathroom. Let Oddie be bathed while he prepares the clothes Oddie will wear after this. Of course by reporting what he saw to Grandpa Moeis through a short message.

"Lake in!" grandpa Moeis said when he heard the door being knocked.

"Why did Grandpa call me?" ask Nathan. The man immediately sat down in front of his grandfather and drank a glass of tea that was deliberately served for him without excuse.

"Nathan, grandfather set you free in choosing a wife. Grandpa never tied you up with an arranged marriage either. Grandpa was just wondering why you married Oddie. Is it because you love her?" fishing rod Grandpa Moeis.

That tone of speech came out of Grandpa Moeis' mouth gently. Very different from his treatment of Kirana who also had time to rebuke all out before expelling him earlier.

Meanwhile, Nathan knows his grandfather is not without reason. Nathan also knows the reason Grandpa called him must have something to do with Oddie. So, instead of his grandfather continuing to strafe him with the same questions, Nathan better be honest now.

"I don't love him" replied Nathan.

That answer made Grandpa Moeis dissolve in her daydream. He remembers seeing Oddie before despite forgetting when and where he was. But clearly at that time Oddie was not limping. Moeis' grandfather linked Nathan's answer to Leah's report, which said there were many scars that adorned Oddie's entire body

"Is this Nathan's? Did Nathan accidentally marry the boy just to get revenge for his parents' mistakes? If so, wouldn't this be so unfair to that kid?" inner Grandpa Moeis.

Just like Nathan, Grandpa Moeis is furious with the betrayal committed by Oddie's parents. But punishing a child of a criminal by tying him up in a marriage to the point of disfiguring him is also very unenviable.

The old man let out a long sigh before drinking his tea after knowing what he should do.

"What about you, Die?" ask Grandpa Moeis.

Now Oddie is sitting next to Nathan fulfilling Grandpa Moeis's calling. His fingers were clinging to each other, indicating how anxious Oddie was, especially when he got such a question in front of Dean Nathan.

"Die, you haven't answered Grandpa's question. Do you love Nathan?" grandpa Moeis's.

"No!" answer Oddie.

After solidifying his heart finally the sentence slid as well. Grandpa Moeis immediately pinched his forehead. Take a deep breath before asking any other questions.

"If you do not love each other. Then why are you married?" ask Grandpa Moeis. Pretending not to know what Nathan's purpose is to keep Nathan from suspecting.

The atmosphere became silent after Grandpa Moeis uttered her last question. Both Nathan and Oddie chose silence. Unlike Nathan who is silent because he does not want to say his goal of marrying Oddie is for revenge, Oddie is instead gathering the courage to say something he never dared to say before.

"Grandfather, I want a divorce!" Oddie.

"What did you just say, Die? ask Nathan.

"There is no love between us. Wouldn't it be better to get divorced? Next, you marry the woman you love" replied Oddie.

"Are you serious about what you're saying?" ask Grandpa Moeis.

"I'm serious, Cake!" answer Oddie.
