09. The Coffee Shop

After Oddie's departure, Nathan returned to his room. Look at the envelope Oddie gave her with a flat expression before putting it in the drawer without seeing how much it contained. Sometimes the man coughed. But he still tried to finish his pending work.

Actually, the reason Nathan's home at this hour is because he's not feeling well.

After quite a long time berjibaku, without feeling the clock has shown ten o'clock at night. Nathan's work is not done yet but his head is too heavy to continue. Finally Nathan decided to finish everything and lay down on the bed.

"Where did he go. Why haven't you come back yet?" nathan realized that Kirana had not yet returned home.

Nathan tried to close his eyes. Either his head, his eyes, or his mind. It's all heavy tonight. He lay down for ten minutes, but Nathan opened his eyes again because his throat was dry. Too bad the drinking water is over. So inevitably Nathan had to go downstairs.

The kitchen is Nathan's current destination. To be honest, Nathan forgot the last time he visited the kitchen. But the atmosphere is still the same as it used to be. Silent, quiet, and clean.

"Den Nathan tumben here" said Lastri after seeing who was in the kitchen.

"Take drinking water" Nathan answered briefly.

"Den, I make turmeric milk huh? Let the cough subside!" lastri bargained when she realized Nathan was coughing.

"no need. I'll take medicine after this" Nathan replied after moistening his throat with bitter-tasting warm water.

The man turned around, wanting to return to his room to take medicine and rest because he was already very tired. But almost fell because his illness could not be invited to compromise.

"Den?" lastri shouted as she saw Nathan staggering. The middle-aged woman shouted to Maman to help Nathan immediately.

"Bring it to the hospital, Las! The body's hot like this" Maman said as he touched Nathan's skin.

"No need, I just need to rest" Nathan refused.

Maman and Lastri finally help Nathan back to the room. As Maman laid Nathan down on the bed, Lastri deftly prepared a bucket of water and a small towel. Of course with a body temperature gauge as well. His intention was to check his body temperature and compress Nathan but Maman whispered something into Lastri's ear, making him doubtful.

"Den, check his temperature first, huh?" permit Lastri.

Nathan asked did not answer anything. Frankly, Nathan doesn't like being touched and served by anyone other than Kirana. For this reason Maman warned Lastri not to touch carelessly earlier.

"It looks like Den Nathan is asleep" Maman said when Nathan did not answer Lastri's question. His body also did not move at all other than his blooming breath.

"Keep we got to how this is, man?" asked Pastri, getting confused. Nathan hasn't even had time to take his medication. Without taking medication and without compresses, what if the fever is getting higher.

"Let Non Oddie take care of him, Las!" Maman.

Lastri who heard the suggestion from Maman directly hit the man. Nathan hates Oddie. Nathan must be mad if he finds out Oddie's taking care of him. "If Den Nathan hits Non Oddie again how is it?" ask Lastri.

"Den Nathan is sleeping. Provided that Non Oddie immediately comes out after completion should not matter," Maman replied.

"Sman snore! What if Den Nathan wakes up tomorrow morning and sees a compress on his forehead?" ask Lastri again.

"Oh, yeah?" answer Maman.

The two were hesitant about what they should do. Nathan won't be taken to the hospital. Want to compress but do not dare to touch. But now Nathan has begun to delirious because of a fever that is too high.

And here's Oddie now. Standing beside the bed looking at Nathan curled up on his luxurious bed. Maman and Lastri just stood in the back. Plans to accompany Oddie and get out together after Oddie is done.

This is Oddie's first chance to take care of Nathan. But even so this does not make Oddie happy. He even squeezed out the little towel expressionlessly. Oddie almost put the little towel on Nathan's forehead, but his hand stopped when he recalled the lines Nathan used to say to him.

"Never touch me. I'm disgusted!"

"Next time don't ever dare go into my room again. This room of mine is not a place you can enter as you please."

"I hate you so much, Die!"

Oddie smiled faintly, then pulled his hand back. The little towel he was originally going to use to compress Nathan was also he returned to the bucket. Then the thermometer that had been prepared also he put it before getting up without saying anything.

"Non, what's wrong?" ask Lastri and Maman at the same time. The two men did not understand why Oddie was standing.

"I don't want to take care of him. I've been warned not to touch and enter this room. So I'll just go" replied Oddie.

"But, Non! Nathan's Den is sick?" lastri.

"What does this have to do with me. Is it because she's sick and I have to take care of her? Bi, next time if he's sick like this again there's no need to look for me. Because he's healthy or sick I don't care at all" Oddie continued.

Lastri and Maman are left speechless other than to step aside and let Oddie through, but Nathan suddenly rises from his sleep. Nathan held his still-heavy head. Then he kicked out everyone who was still in his room.

"What are you doing here. Didn't I tell you I need a break?" nathan asked, holding his heavy head.

"B-well, Den! We're going out now" Maman and Lastri replied simultaneously.

The two men immediately left, followed by Oddie who walked behind him. Whether conscious or not, but Nathan keeps Oddie from staying.

"Why are you going too?" ask Nathan.

His hand quickly grabbed Oddie and pulled him, making Oddie sit on the bed with his back to Nathan. Maman and Lastri who saw Nathan's actions can only keep their mouths shut. Not knowing how and what to do. Is Oddie gonna get hit? But why is his position strange like this?

"Let me go!" Oddie. Oddie breaks away from Nathan's pull, but Nathan grabs it again.

"No way!" reject Nathan.

Nathan didn't just grab Oddie. But he also wrapped his hands around his stomach and leaned his heavy head against Oddie's shoulders. With a position like this, Oddie inevitably feel also how hot Nathan's body is feverish.

"How is this, Las?" ask Maman to panic.

"I-I don't know either, Man!" answer Lastri.

Looks like Nathan is not recognizing who the woman he is hugging is. Now it might be safe for Oddie, but what if Kirana suddenly comes home or suddenly Nathan wakes up?

"Why are you still standing there? Get out, I'm gonna take a break!" said Nathan.
