My Husband's Love Is Not For Me

My Husband's Love Is Not For Me
08. Stay at Kost Anisa

A little hesitant, but Oddie greeted Aarav's hand with a smile on his lips.

"You helped me when we were both sitting on the Junior High. Thank you for your kindness that day" continued Aarav.

Oddie pensively. Trying to remember the figure of Aarav even though he could not remember it at all. But Aarav should not lie because while still Junior High Oddie is a member of the PMR who often provides help to his injured friends.

"It's not a problem" Oddie replied.

Aarav smiled in satisfaction, then watched Oddie closely. The girl is still the same as before. Still beautiful, sweet and nice. But Aarav's smile faded slightly when he noticed Oddie's different eyes and remembered how Oddie walked. But what happened to make it like this?

"Die, are you okay?" ask Aarav.

Oddie looked down. To be honest, this question is one that Oddie hates. If anyone asks how things are going, Oddie always wants to answer fine. But can Oddie lie to the eyes of those who see how his eyes and legs are damaged?

"Die?" call Aarav when Oddie doesn't answer his questions.

"I had an accident not too long ago. My eyes and legs hurt making me like this. Even though I was a little limp and my eyesight was down, but I was fine," Oddie replied.

Aarav nodded in understanding. Trusting whatever Oddie says without suspicion. The man looked around, realizing that Oddie, who was walking alone at night, did not hesitate to give him a ride.

"Where are you going, by the way?" ask Aarav.

"I want to go home" replied Oddie.

"If you don't mind I can drive you," Aarav bargained.

Aarav knows it's a little rude to offer help when Oddie doesn't even remember. But it was late and Oddie walked alone. So how could Aarav leave Oddie. Especially after he managed to find Oddie after a long time looking for him.

"Thank you, but no need to bother driving me. You just go home, I can go home by myself," Oddie refused politely.

"Die?" hold Aarav.

"Please don't do this. My husband could have misunderstood me" Oddie said as Aarav held his hand against leaving.

"His husband? Are you married, Die?" ask Aarav.

The sound was very slow. Really, Aarav doesn't know what to do now. He's happy to finally find Oddie but his heart is broken right when he finds Oddie.

"I'm married" replied Oddie.

Oddie releases Aarav's hand which still holds his hand. Then continue the delayed journey. But God seems to approve Aarav sending Oddie home tonight because it suddenly rained heavily.

"What are you doing?" ask Oddie when Aarav pulls his hand back.

"I'm sorry, but I can't leave you alone when it rains like this" Aarav replied.

"But,-"

Oddie had not yet been able to continue his words. But Aarav had already brought Oddie into the car before the rain started. Oddie's a little tense. This was her first time with a man other than her husband. More tense when thinking about what he will say when he gets home later. But Aarav doesn't let Oddie tense for too long because he's now starting to get Oddie chatting to melt the atmosphere.

After that short talk, Aarav finally finds out Oddie is looking for a job. Aarav also knows Oddie doesn't dare to apply for a job at the company because of his circumstances. So Aarav offers a job Oddie can do.

"Die, I recently opened a branch restaurant. Incidentally there are still some unfilled positions. Are you interested?" tawar Aarav's.

"Restaurant?" ask Oddie.

Oddie had been looking for a job for more than a week, but no one was willing to accept him. Before this he had also been rejected many times despite only applying as a servant. Because for the waiter position, they said they needed someone whose legs didn't limp.

"How, Die?" ask Aarav.

"I'm intrigued. But my legs,-"

"Tomorrow?" ask Oddie.

"If it's too soon, you can start the day after tomorrow or next week" replied Aarav.

"You're serious?" ask Oddie. Oddie who was originally a little closed seemed to start opening. He was also more daring to display his expression.

"I'm serious" replied Aarav with a smile.

"But why do you accept a limp-legged waitress?" ask Oddie.

Aarav turned his head, Aarav did offer a job. But Aarav doesn't want Oddie to be a waiter. Because with his leg defect, Aarav wants to give Oddie a job that is not too troublesome.

"Die, you're not going to work as a waiter. But as a cashier," answered Aarav.

Aarav could have provided a lighter job and a higher position. But Aarav knew Oddie would definitely refuse if he did. So that's the only position Aarav can offer.

"May I work from tomorrow?" ask Oddie.

"Of course you can" replied Aarav.

Oddie hasn't felt like he's been working for a month. At work, Oddie meets good friends and treats them well. Even though the conditions were like that, they did not shirk Oddie in the least. Even Oddie feels treated like a favorite brother considering Oddie is the youngest among them.

Tonight, Oddie comes home with a glowing face. He had already pocketed his first salary even though it was not much. That little salary Oddie has split. Most of it to give to Dean Nathan. The rest is a little for itself.

It just so happened that Nathan was home when Oddie came home. It just so happened that Kirana didn't seem to exist. So Oddie decided to immediately give money that was not how it was as promised.

Oddie knocked on her husband's bedroom door. Nathan who was busy with his laptop knew that standing at the door there must be Oddie. Though lazy, Nathan got up to open the door.

"What?" ask Nathan.

The man was already standing in front of Oddie. Lean on the door goal by putting on a flat face.

"I wanted to reimburse the hospital fees that time. I know the amount is less, but I'll give it again later when I have the money," Oddie replied still with his head lowered.

Oddie thrusts the thin envelope at Nathan. But Nathan only looked and underestimated the money that was in his eyes completely worthless. Oddie's hospital charges that day honestly didn't detract from Nathan's fortune even if it was just a fingernail. Nathan does not expect the money to be returned but Oddie insists on replacing it, being repaid anyway. I don't know why Nathan doesn't like that.

"Die, I don't need your little money. Do you think of me as a beggar who receives money from a disabled woman like you?" ask Nathan.

Nathan looked at Oddie with a look of hatred. Before starting to move to close the door and drive Oddie out. But Oddie braced himself once more to hold him back.

Oddie holds the door, grabs Nathan's hand for the first time and immediately hands him the envelope he was carrying. "I know you're very rich and this money is nothing. But I promised to refund the hospital fees. So please don't reject it" Oddie said.

Oddie immediately let go of Nathan's hand. Then he took a few steps back before he disappeared from Nathan's sight.
