It's crazy, Alex couldn't believe what he saw.
Clearly Alex saw the gentleness in Ambrosia's eyes as she looked at her mother, the gentleness that in an instant turned sharply sinister as the secretary's gaze whistled with her.
How could she be so kind to my mother while she was so fierce to me? Basic sycophant, or maybe the woman has a double personality? Alex shook his head not understanding.
"Why, Lex? You jetlag? Sit here then," pinta Roxanne as she guides her son to the sofa.
Alex nodded automatically, but his ears were not focused enough to hear Roxanne's worried reaction to him. Alex's body also reflexively follows the mother's guidance to the sofa, without words. Because in his mind, Alex was busy analyzing the attitude of an Ambrosia Heart.
Alex was still wondering in his heart, but if that Secretary Ketus was indeed a sycophant, that woman should have been kind to me as well. In the future, I am the one who will take over the leadership of the company. She should have known that, then why was she just nice to my mom?
Roxanne becomes increasingly concerned for her son when Alex does not respond even after they sit comfortably. He looked at his son's face fixed and full of anticipation. Seeking for any tired expressions or traces of sadness that might have been left behind after Alex broke off her engagement to the woman Roxanne knew her son loved so much.
Unfortunately, until now he still did not hear the reason for the breakup of the engagement because Alex was reluctant to discuss it. Roxanne's worries are mounting.
Roxanne's maternal instinct is split in two, on the one hand she doesn't want to see Alex languish, but on the other hand Roxanne is relieved to know Alex has broken up with a woman she doesn't think is good for her son.
Regardless of the mother's astonishment, Alex was comparing Ambrosia's behavior towards her mother, to herself, and also the other people they had met before.
No, come to think of it, the woman was behaving normally to others, Alex recalled.
Obviously the secretary was very good to my mother, and earlier she was also good to the parking lot, if to the other two secretaries she was quite firm but not exactly fierce as well. Then why is it only to me that he's so thin, as if he thinks of me as an enemy. Did I do something that touched her? But we've never even met before. Damnit damnit! That woman is driving me crazy.
The more you think about Ambrosia, the more frustrated Alex becomes. And that pisses him off.
"Lex," call Roxanne one more time, "did you hear me?" roxanne asked while flicking her fingers right in front of Alex's face to attract her son's attention.
"Oh, uh, yes ma'am?" this time Alex woke up.
"I was just wondering how you got here?" roxanne asks preparing to start a long chat before scraping deeper about whatever reason Alex broke off her engagement to Luna.
Hearing the mother's question, Alex seemed to get a chance to complain, an opportunity that he would not miss to complain about the attitude of his mother's secretary who had upset him.
"Well, at first everything was fine until I got off the plane and met the guy who picked me up at the airport. All of a sudden it's all so annoying" Alex grumbled frankly.
Roxanne frowned who still looked smooth even at her age of five. All because of the expensive body and facial care and routine he did of course.
"What's pissing you off, Lex?" Roxanne asked because she did not understand the source of her son's frustration.
"Who else would it be if it wasn't for your flagship secretary, ma'am. She's the one who's pissed me off" Alex replied honestly. "and how can you possibly say she's a beautiful woman?" ask Alex not to think.
"But in my eyes Ana is a beautiful girl, Lexi. He is also smart and competent. What don't you like about her?" bela Roxanne still did not understand.
"What's wrong with Ambrosia's gaze? She's a girl who's always been gentle," Roxanne's still trying to defend her secretary.
"Soft what? Since the beginning of our meeting, her gaze was never gentle on me, and again, how could you hire such a woman, she was not at all beautiful. She's like an ugly duckling among swans compared to the rest of the female staff at Levine enterprises." Alex spoke with a fiery voice.
Instantly Roxanne's expression groaned. He really disliked every sentence that came out of Alex's mouth just now. In his ears, Alex's speech sounded like a mockery to Ambrosia. Roxanne is about to protest Alex's way of talking about Ambrosia, when her secretary suddenly steps in after knocking twice as usual.
Ambrosia showed up with a trolley filled with tea and some snacks. "Sorry to wait a long time" said Ambrosia politely.
Alex and his mother both fell silent awkwardly. The two simply exchanged lyrics as Ambrosia moved the teacups from the top of the trolley to the table in front of Roxanne and Alex.
Roxanne was worried that Ambrosia might have heard Alex just now. And not much different from what Alex felt, the man suddenly felt bad if the bad comment was heard into the ear of Ambrosia. But seeing Ambrosia's calm facial expression, the mother and child were slightly relieved to think that Ambrosia had heard nothing.
After moving the entire contents of the trolley he was carrying onto the table, Ambrosia resigned naturally to continue her work and left Roxanne and Alex in the Director's room with their concerns.
"Alex Levine!" roxanne snapped while folding her arms in front of her chest, which instantly showed Alex the superior position her mother had as an older person.
Alex gasps. He forgot the last time his mother had acted so hard on him. But at this time, his mother scolded him as if he was not a grown man, but a child who was still sitting in school. Alex was silent. Sechildish is my attitude? ask Alex in your heart.
"How dare you mock a good girl that bad. What if Ana heard that and she was sick the other day because of what you said?" Roxanne scolds Alex for her disrespectful comments.
A minute of regret that had grown in the niches of Alex—'s heart since he was worried if Ambrosia heard his taunts—kini growing. He also realized that his words were outrageous. How will he face the woman in the future, if it turns out that Ambrosia really hears him? How would he apologize to that woman?
"But, he's annoying me, ma'am?" Alex tried to defend himself, though timidly.
"Then? Is that why you have the right to mock him? Not very polite. Is that what I taught you, Lexi?" Roxanne now stared intently at Alex.
Alex just looked down at his mother's words. His mother was right, although she was upset, although she did not accept Ambrosia's treatment of him, she should not give him a bad nickname.
But come to think of it, Ambrosia had never done anything wrong to him intentionally. He alone raised his ego too much. And was upset because of his own thoughts. So there was no reason for him to ridicule the woman's appearance.
Roxanne softened her gaze again as she realized the look of regret on the handsome face of her only son. "Look, Lex. I asked you to get along with Ambrosia. Because other than you and your late father, that girl is one of my favorite people on earth" Roxanne said.
Alex snorted loudly, but finally replied, "I'll try, Mom."
"All right, I believe you. So I'm sure you won't mind, too, if I trust Ana to be your tutor on a mission to learn to lead the company" Roxanne said firmly.
Alex was surprised. Can only curse in heart, Holy ****!
