"I'm ready, Mum." Ambrosia is in ready mode to type every important point that will be thrown from the mouth of Roxanne Levine—bos is best for Ambrosia throughout her life.
"First," Roxanne said as she began to walk back and forth. "Have our people in New York execute the acquisition procedure as planned. Give them some advice in order to convince the partner company, that Levine Enterprises is able to repair any damage caused by previous management. Advise them to be rational and cautious. All we need is their sense of understanding of the fate of the hundreds of victims, so this is not the time to hesitate."
"Good, Mam." Ambrosia typed up quickly, then stopped to wait for the middle-aged woman to continue.
"Second," continued Roxanne with an intonation that was still as firm as before, "I decided to take the set of emerald jewelry that Pawn Stone had offered at that time. But, I need proof of validity or the transaction is canceled."
"I think it's manageable, it just takes extra time for the confirmation process." Ambrosia predicted as she continued typing on her notepad.
"No problem, Ana. I don't need it for me to wear anytime soon anyway, I just want to have it as one of my collections. And put that emerald jewelry set on the list of things that will be stored in our new gallery in Perth."
Ambrosia nodded in understanding, her fingers stopped moving to wait for the next point. When the director did not immediately continue, Ambrosia looked at the woman who was almost the same age as her late mother questioningly. "Has it all, Roxy?"
"Almost, Ana. Almost..."
Ambrosia is the only executive at Levine Enterprises who calls the company's number one 'Roxy'.
Roxanne allows it because she really likes Ambrosia Heart as her secretary and as a person who is so brilliant in her eyes.
"Last and most importantly..." Roxanne returned to the glare-coated glass wall and looked out gloomily.
It's time to get serious, Roxanne warned herself. He did not want to be rash but he also did not want someone who was so precious to him than anything in this world, to suffer.
"Last but most importantly, and also very personal," Roxanne repeated in a softening voice.
The word 'personal' that Roxanne said at the end of her sentence, making the right hand of Ambrosia who had been typing was stuck in the air— above the notepad. As a secretary he doubted whether to write the point also into the notepad or not. Ambrosia decided to hear it first before making a decision.
"I want you to find a professional private detective, Ana." Roxanne said slower than usual. It was as if something was clogging the woman's esophagus.
Ambrosia blinked her eyes from behind thick-looking non-minus glasses. "Sorry can you repeat, Mom?" ask Ambrosia confused.
"No, you didn't hear me wrong, Ana. I did ask you to find a private detective, who is very skilled in his field, and very reliable, who is professional to the point that he must have managed to find something that is not even possible," roxanne answered more vehemently.
"I'm sorry, Roxy. But if I may know, what is impossible, what do you want to look for?" Ambrosia again asked after being able to restore her poker face expression.
Ambrosia's flickering fingers, which were still floating in the air, instantly trembled after hearing Roxanne's brief explanation. Fortunately Ambrosia was still conscious enough to keep his left hand stable, which still holds expensive electronics worth three times his monthly salary.
However, Ambrosia remained at a loss for words, as well as unable to make up the last point that came out of the President Director's mouth. Roxanne's words echoed in her ear, but were not clear enough to be accepted by her left brain.
After a few seconds, finally only one sentence managed to slide from Ambrosia's lips to respond to the orders of the First Director.
"You must be kidding me" guessed the desperate Ambrosia.
Ambrosia sincerely hopes that the final order from her boss is a prank Roxanne deliberately made to tease her, or an April Fool's surprise aimed at her a few weeks ahead of time.
Unfortunately, Ambrosia's hope was instantly dashed when she saw Roxanne shake her head firmly. "No, my dear, I'm not kidding" Roxanne replied with her motherly face.
Ambrosia wished she had misheard, though she believed she had not heard wrongly. "In other words you want to separate your own son from the woman he loves? That so?" ambrosia asked in a sudden voice.
This time Ambrosia clearly saw the Director nodding his head confidently. Although she also noticed a glum expression on Roxanne Levine's face, she wanted her own son to be heartbroken with confidence.
Ambrosia's jaw hardened and she looked at Roxanne with a look of disbelief, as well as helplessness. He tried to think of an answer that could indicate his objection and not get him fired of course.
"But, sorry.. but why, Mam?" Ambrosia was not willing with Roxanne's attitude.
Because she knows Roxanne Levine not only as a successful woman who is independent and hardworking but also as a single mother who loves her only son.
Although Ambrosia has never met Alexander Benigno Delwyn Levine or commonly called Alex Levine since he worked for almost two years at Levine Enterprises, but Amnrosia is so sure if Mr. Alex is a great man who grew happily out of his mother's affection.
"Don't you say all this time that Mr. Alex loves his fiancee so much. And you don't care if they're both married?" Ambrosia no longer held her notepad, now she clutched it tightly with a body that almost trembled with emotion.
Roxanne sighed softly. He chose to sit back on his big chair and take off and put his glasses on the table. Leaning back, Roxanne pinched the base of her nose with her right hand.
"That was before I met the woman," he replied flatly. "You know Ana? Oh, Naw... You won't understand because you're not a mother yet. But when I met Alex's fiancee, my maternal instinct immediately warned me that she wasn't good for Alex" Roxanne said.
"Oh, Roxy..." Ambrosia's heart was like a dagger, looking at Roxanne as if in despair.
