The arrival of Byan and Maureen was already very much awaited by their guests. The capital's street gridlock makes them a few minutes late from their due time. Lucky their colleagues faithfully wait.
In the meeting room, there were already a few people waiting. There are contractors, Riswan, Edwin, Melda and some people from the legal department. It seemed like there was something very important that they had to talk about.
“Thank you for waiting.” Maureen shook one by one their colleagues kindly as well as Byan.
“Please sit.” Maureen welcomed back the guests who had stood up to greet her.
“Thank you Mr and Madam,” timpal a man who is a representative of the contractor who is currently cooperating with Byan company.
“What is this? Seems like there's a serious problem?” Byan was so curious about the look on the face of the middle-aged man he knew named Alam.
"Please, Sir." The man did not answer, but immediately showed a file to Byan and Maureen.
“Defonds?” byan asked as he scrunched his forehead not understanding.
This contractor has been working with Anggoro corp for decades but why suddenly filed a lawsuit?
“We apologize Sir, we have to hand this over to Sir. Because we feel Anggoro corp needs to read these demands.” The man named Nature was bowed languidly before Byan.
Byan sighed deeply, he read the details of the demands submitted by one of the families of construction employees who died while working. The man died of electrocution while installing an electrical installation in a residential cluster that was being built.
His family did not accept that this was considered an accident. For this reason, they filed demands both from the head of the contractor where the man worked or from Anggoro Corp.
“How are the actual incident details?” Maureen is the first to react. His voice sounded firm with a clenched hand. He didn't expect that this kind of thing could happen again.
“Begini madam, this employee is indeed a duty as an officer who installs the electrical installation of the building. He holds the construction area one. Of the three development areas, construction area one is the last one completed in install installation.”
“Some of our colleagues did a test run by powering the main electrical panel. We are very confident that our employees on this one have finished installing the installation. But it turns out, he entered again into the roof of the Building to connect the electricity of the first and second floors.”
“He did just that beyond our expectations. So when the main panel was turned on, the employee was still on the roof of the building and was electrocuted to death. We found it one day later after the family reported that the employee did not return home.”
The man bowed languidly before Byan and Maureen who were still trying to digest what they heard.
Surprised? Yep.
The myris? For sure.
“How can you guys seteledor it?” that question was then thrown byan with a rising voice.
“Inspuse us, Mr.” That is the answer that Nature can say.
Nobody spoke, everything was quiet. Including Maureen who just sat down while clenching her hands. Byan looked at Maureen's face filled with anger.
“What do you think?” Byan was curious because Maureen had no reaction.
Maureen just shook her head. This woman cannot think right. He can always answer quickly to any question.
“Have not panicked, a problem like this is easy to solve.” There was Edwin who said casually.
“What does Om mean?” Byan looked at this middle-aged man inexhaustibly.
Edwin tidied up his appearance first before replying to Byan. He felt it was time for him to perform.
“Yes Om, this is just an accident, yes do not be enlarged. After all, this is not the fault of Anggoro corp, but rather the negligence of the contractor.” Edwin pointed at Nature until the man was stunned. I want to protest but this man's words are true.
“Just show our condolences with the family of the employee, love the sorrow money is rather large. Later also they are silent,” added Edwin casually.
“You think it's that easy?!” suddenly Maureen was inflamed, startling Byan and all the meeting participants.
His eyes barked at Edwin in annoyance.
“Loh, yes yes. Their ultimate goal is to make money. Do they want to stop our management and contractor management to be imprisoned? Yeah no! The ends of the money kok.” again Edwin spoke lightly.
“But we can't act like everything is that simple, Mas! Do you think about how the victim's family feels? It is possible that the victim is the backbone of the family that does not only bear him. There may also be family members who rely heavily on the man not only financially but also morally.”
“Can I have a little empathy for them?! Do you think everything can be replaced with money? NO!!!!” Maureen was really angry and it made the entire room shocked. Just this time they heard Maureen's high and emotional voice, over three octaves. Usually this woman is always calm to face problems as complicated as anything.
“Yes, you mean, let's just let them sue us, so? Waste of Maureen's time! Don't let it be because of the negligence of one rat, we lost all the cheese we had. Loss on know?!” Edwin remained with his stance.
“Ya justin! That is their right to sue. We just follow it because maybe actually they do not need the money that I mean but what they need is the truth. They want to see the extent of our responsibility, care and attention to this issue,” Maureen said excitedly.
“Akh, you're ribet! Your brain is not running because of this problem doang!” Edwin pointed at Maureen's head in dismay.
“Udahlah, we are ready for big money. Do not need to mengemuin them, later they get bigger head. Ask them to sign a statement that they won't talk much with coarse support to sue us. There they will only lose. The money they made the koar-koar must have been greater than the money they got. Just now, just bother! Stupid all of you, want to be played with the same unimportant demands!” edwin spoke with great confidence.
Not so with Maureen. This girl disagreed with Edwin's opinion. He even tends to look angry and choose to leave the meeting room with his firm steps.
What's wrong with that woman?
