Evan just silently stared. I don't know what she meant by asking him not to leave the house. Evan usually quite often hang out with his college friends just smoking. Evan is not an active smoker. He only occasionally joined his friends.
Evan immediately went to his room. He felt pretty tired all day. Even so, Evan is quite happy with the development of the health of the mother who improved. Her mother's smile was also more seen lately made Evan feel very grateful.
Evan settles down on the couch. His body feels tired. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
By evening, Evan felt his body shake. A call sounded in his ear. Evan immediately opened his eyes and blinked.
"Pa?" uca Evan with his hoarse voice.
"Wake up and shower immediately. Why are you sleeping on the couch? Your body will hurt later." Papa Jimmy is still standing next to the couch.
Evan squirmed his body. He twirled his body left and right until he felt his bones tremble.
"So tired, Pa. I didn't realize I was asleep here."
Papa Jimmy just sighed in the air. "Yes already. Take a shower there immediately. After that, get ready. There'll be guests at dinner."
Evan turned his head towards the father. His forehead creased when he heard there would be guests in his house.
"Guests? Who, Pa? My mom said that too. But, when I asked, mom didn't tell me."
Papa Jimmy frowned. He did not expect that Evan had not been informed by his wife.
"You don't know, Van?"
"You know what, Pa? What's wrong?" Evan looked confused.
Papa Jimmy breathed heavily into the air before answering the son's question.
"Later tonight, papa's friends and mama are coming to visit. We've known him long enough. He was your mama's friend at school" explained papa Jimmy.
"You could say so, anyway. But, there's something important to talk about."
"What's up, Pa?"
Papa Jimmy looked at Evan with a deep look. He hoped, Evan would accept what he said.
"We want to match you up with their daughter, Van."
Evan rounded his eyes and mouth. He was so surprised by the words of his father.
"Stupid? Papa and Mama want to marry me?"
"Yes, Van. Your mom had that idea when she met them at the hospital during her medical checkup. Your mother really liked their daughter. Take it easy, Papa has also met him, really. She's very pretty. And for sure, he's good. He could love your mom."
Evan still could not accept the words of the father. He was still quite surprised by the news he had just heard.
"But, Pa, I don't have any plans to get married anytime soon. How could I possibly do that? We don't know each other, either, Pa. Two strangers who have never met before, how can they get married?"
Papa Jimmy finds out that Evan will be hard pressed to accept the plan. It seemed, he had to use the last means to persuade the son. Papa Jimmy doesn't want it until Evan's mother's health returns.
"Van, before you decide to reject this matchmaking plan, papa please consider it first. You know, before this your mama actually refused to seek treatment. However, after you go home, your mother starts to seek treatment. And, what makes your mom more excited, is when she meets her friend. Your mother's desire to heal is increasing."
"Almost every night your mom would tell you if she wanted to see you get married and have grandchildren. He already had a picture of what he was going to do with his granddaughter."
"However, your mama also understands that it will not be easy to get, considering you are still alone. The only way is to match you. Of course your mama has chosen the best candidate for you, Van," said papa Jimmy.
Evan could only scoop his face violently. I don't know what to do at that time. Want to go forward, feel heavy, backward even feels impossible.
