The drizzling rain still faithfully accompanied the day until noon. It was the last day of the try-out before the national exam in about three weeks.
Retta tightened her jacket that covered her body. His school bag was still on his lap. He waited for an online taxi at a stop near the crossroad.
Abel, Retta's best friend, calls her when she sees her best friend still at the stop.
"Not yet come your invitation?" abel asked as he leaned his head out of the car window. Abel was picked up by a driver every day.
Retta turned her head and found that her best friend was not far from where she was sitting. " hasn't. Maybe in a minute." Reply Retta with a smile.
Abel watched Retta and her surroundings closely. He saw six people there. There were five guys at the stop. Two people seemed to come from PB High School (Putra Bangsa), while the remaining three were Abel's younger siblings. They were joking while laughing at the end of the stop, while Retta the girl herself who was at the end of the other stop. Abel scrunched his forehead.
"Okay, I'll drive you home!" pinta Abel's.
Retta shook her head quickly. There was no way he would accept Abel's offer to drive him home. Their houses are opposite directions. It could be said Abel's house is farther from school than Retta's house.
Retta takes about 30-40 minutes to get to school. While Abel, he took about an hour to get to school. If he had to drive Retta home, it could be sure to spend up to two hours just arriving home.
Retta really doesn't want to trouble her best friend. In addition, until this moment no one knows the status of his marriage with Vanno other than the friends of Vanno who happened to meet him at home at that time.
After convincing Abel he will be fine, Abel finally wants to go home. That day Retta was not picked up by Vanno. After trying out, Vanno immediately went to the airport to pick up his parents. The family driver was ill, so Vanno had to pick up his own parents.
From morning Retta felt bad. I don't know why his heart was agitated. His hands continued to move to and fro to dispel the anxiety that had no idea what was causing it.
Retta took the drinking water she had in her bag. He took a slow sip and looked at the water bottle that was in his hand.
Some of the guys at the stop noticed Retta. They whispered something to each other until a smile appeared on their lips.
"You're being driven home?" ask a student from PB High School. Retta looked over and was surprised. He was unaware of the arrival of the two men who were now beside him.
Retta shook her head. "No, thank you." He replied politely while shifting his body slightly away.
"Rain gini hard to find angkot," said the man who was still standing. "Gue often sees you being picked up by a PB guy. Lo's dating a PB kid?" Further.
Retta is getting backwards. He immediately shook his head in response.
"No need to lie, I know it's a motorcycle that often shuttle you have who. Got a Vanno, right?" ask the first guy. "Lo has anything to do with Vanno?" he continued with eyes full of intimidation.
