"Graaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!"

Although the situation is getting more stressful. Amanogawa insisted on making the decision.

"It's bad" whispered Amanogawa. "I have to stop it, no matter how!"

To protect the friends who saved themselves, Nene cast the strongest spell in an attempt to form a barrier.

"Give your protection to your children whom you call, oh goddess Ishtar! Reject all hatred and let this be a holy place that denies your enemy part! [Hallowed Ground!]"

The spell was four verses long, inscribed on a magic circle two meters long, and drawn on top grade magic paper. Moreover, it had been chanted by three people simultaneously. Despite using only one, and lasting just one minute, it created an impenetrable barrier that was indestructible.

However, the labyrinth's trap did not easily escape. They will not be allowed to retreat.

Apart from the giant monster, Shin thought what was happening on the side of the bridge road was much more dangerous.

The dark red magic circle resembled a pool of blood, and gave off an ominous feeling. It pulsed once, and waves of monsters started to come out.

From the countless magic circles at the end of the bridge, there was a swarm of skeletons holding swords.

Their empty eye sockets glittered with the same blood red light as the circles they felt, and their eyes rolled around like real eyes as well. In a matter of seconds, the stairs in front of Amanogawa were full of nearly a hundred creatures, and many more.

"Rin, Orihara, Nazuna, Ryunosuke, Ayuzawa! In the meantime I'll distract him!"

"Wait a minute, don't wait!" Shouted Rin. "We will help too! That giant bat was really something bad! I'll also—"

"Stupid! If it's a creature this big, none of us have a chance to escape! We who are currently will not be able to fight such a large creature, and we will not be able to stand against it. Now you run, I'll catch up later!"

Orihara and the others ran back towards Shin's group, while Rin quietly stood behind Amanogawa.

"What's wrong with you? Go now!"

Rin staggered for a moment at the intensity of Amanogawa's gaze, but he refused to leave. Amanogawa opened his mouth to shout at Rin, but before he could say anything, the monster roared back and attacked.

The huge chain shone, stopping the giant bat. A huge shockwave spread out as it smashed into the barrier, destroying the ground near the impact. Although it was made of stone, the entire bridge shook. The disciples retreated, and some of them fell.

All of the formations were destroyed as everyone rushed to the stairs, trying their best to escape.

"Kiriga-kun?" Nene momentarily glanced at Shin, her eyes wide open when she realized that Shin would definitely do something like dangerous.

"Kiriga-kunn!"

He tried to call her, but Shin did not listen to her.

Amidst the chaos, Shin naturally moved and ran as hard as he could towards where his friend had collapsed. He groaned in pain and looked up, only to see the skull brandishing its sword right in front of him.

"Aah!" At the same time he let out a breath of breath, the skull swung the sword at his head.

Am I going to die here…

His body froze even as his hands did not stop trembling, what he had in mind was death, there was no hope whatsoever as the sharp edge of the sword's eyes pointed before his eyes.

However, at the right time, Shin touched and converted the skull sword into a dust grain. Then kicked the skull as hard as possible until it crashed far forward.

"Grrh!"

After which, Shin quickly grabbed the disciple's hand and pulled it.

"Come, we have to hurry. Don't worry, these bone creatures should be nothing. I can handle it."

Shin patted his back confidently.

"Now, your chance, Ayuzawa-san!"

The student looked at him for a moment before saying.

"Yes!" The disciple nodded cheerfully, even he had not thought of thanking Shin for saving him.

He ran with a sense of so much relief, shedding tears.

Next, Shin started running towards Amanogawa and Rin's place.

"Amanogawa-kun, you must retreat! The rest too!" Shouted Shin.

"S-Shin!?"

"Kiriga-kun, why are you here?"

"In such a narrow place, it would be difficult to avoid an attack." Continue Shin.  "Therefore, the best course of action was to run while the barrier Shirasaki-san made was still burning. I'll open the way for you."

"Come, it's time! We should get together with the others too, Jun!" Rin screamed while pulling Amanogawa's hand, but Amanogawa held him back.

"Don't worry, I'll definitely catch up with you guys."

"Whatchu mean? And more importantly, why are you here!? You can't be here! Leave this place to us, Kiriga-kun, and—"

"This is not the time to say that!"

Shin cut Amanogawa off, implying that Shin would be useless if he had to retreat. And he shouted in a loud tone that he had never expressed before.

"Didn't you see what's going on behind you!? They all panicked because their leader was not with them!" Shin pulled Amanogawa's collar, looked at her angrily and pointed behind her.

For a moment Amanogawa trembled at the words, he could feel something very different from Shin's character which he had known through his gaze.

Due to their inefficient fighting style, the constant push of reinforcements made them unable to get through. Their incredible stats had protected them so far, but it was only a matter of time until someone died.

"They needed someone who had the strength to finish off all of that in a single strike! They need someone who can take away their fear! And the only one who can do that is you, Amanogawa-kun! You're their leader, so stop focusing on what's in front of you! Look at what's behind you just this once!"

Confused, Amanogawa saw from the panic and screams of her classmates back towards Shin, who shook his head angrily, clucked and nodded.

"I understand now. We're backing off, Rin!"

"Yes!" Rin nodded quickly.

Amanogawa and Rin run, while Shin paves the way for them. However, Shin felt a bad premonition after this, as if something was blocking them from escaping the chaos.

To be sure, the barrier Nene had created had now begun to collapse and disintegrate.

Shin shouted before that happened.

"Everything! Get down!"

A huge shockwave headed towards Shin and the others. Shin instantly converted the surrounding rubble to create a stone wall, but his shockwave shattered it easily, sending everyone crashing down. The walls managed to slightly reduce that power, but then the giant bat let out a huge roar and the room trembled with dust flying.

"The barrier's broken!"

"It's a chance! Get out of here!"

"Wait on! Let me go! I have to go to Kiriga-kun's place! I promised him! I promise to protect her no matter what! Let me go!"

Nene kept shouting hysterically until her tears without her noticing had flowed so much.

"Let me. Let me go!"

"Stupid, stop! Shirasaki!"

Ayuzawa held him in a hug. It was precisely because he understood how Nene felt until Ayuzawa could not find the words to stop her friend.

Shin could hear the voices of his friends starting to drift away, instead he could hear a faint and distant voice from Nene.

No one saw what happened after that, but when the dust started to go away, Shin saw Amanogawa and Rin fall down, but Amanogawa was able to get back up soon, he said, but Rin could not stand up because her legs were sprained.

"Rin!"

Without realizing it Shin called her by her name. Reflex, Shin got up to stand up and ran as hard as he could to save Rin.

Amanogawa does not seem to realize that Rin also fell with him, but not to come back and help, Amanogawa actually stayed on the stairs while the others had managed to leave the room.

All that remained were the three of them in the room, Amanogawa, Shin and Rin.

On the other hand, Rin falls in very bad places. Behind him was a giant bat, while in front of him it was already twenty meters away to get to Amanogawa's place.

"Amazo! Can you buy some time?" Ask Shin. Shin seemed to be in pain, but he was still strong enough to kneel down and help Rin stand up.

Since the others had already survived, they had to do something about the giant bat itself. However, there, Amanogawa stood looking giving a satisfied expression and smiled.

"A..gawa?"

"sorry. And thank you."

After saying that, Amanogawa turned around and left the room while the bridge began to crack and slowly began to collapse.

"Hey! What the fuck is this all....what does it mean?!" Shouted Rin. "The bridge is. No, this is impossible. I can't possibly end up here just like that! I don't want to end up here! Jun... Nens.. Don't leave me alone!"

"Your job is a diva, isn't it? By singing, you can give ten times the physical strength. Please, Rin sing for me. This time, we can definitely get out of here—"

Rin opened her lips to try singing, but her voice seemed depressed, unable to come out.

"Oh, yeah..."

It turned out that I was this stupid. With her current condition, she definitely could not sing.

Suddenly something came to Shin's mind. He's realized it. At the moment, Rin could not sing. Due to his current condition, he was unable to make a sound from his vitals.

However, wherever as well the road was locked just like that, and after a final struggle with no results, they fell towards the depths of the abyss. His last shout (Rin) resounded throughout the room.

Shin knelt down to watch Rin cry and kept yelling at himself. While he was feeling extremely irritated, he involuntarily clenched his hands tightly on the ground as if there was no hope in the slightest.

"Graaaaaaah!!" The giant monster roared furiously.

Just then, the giant bat began to rampage flying then crashed into the bridge repeatedly as if intending to tear down the bridge.

"Someone help me!"

Without him noticing, Shin immediately pulled his head slowly and hugged him. For a moment, Rin could feel a warm sensation as their shoulders touched each other.

"Rin, you're not alone, there's still me here!"

Then, Rin turned towards Shin with a pale expression and his eyes were red with many tears. After seeing that Shin was nearby, Rin actually let out more tears.

Ah, this would not work.Shin muttered those words inside his head as he gave up. However, looking one last time, he could see Nene recklessly coming back to reach him in despair, his voice barely coming out as he shouted his best friend and the person he liked, too, ayuzawa and Amanogawa held both hands and held them.

In the end, the entire bridge collapsed, Shin and Rin fell towards the depths of the abyss, Shin's face staring blankly at the sky. His outstretched hand gripped the fading light.

The giant bat flew into the sky, listening to the increasingly dim cries. Listen to the bridge falling apart. And then, all too soon, Shin and Rin are swallowed into the darkness along with the final ruins.

The light faded away quickly as darkness began to swallow it. Kiriga Shin's face was transfixed to see Yuasa Rin terrified as he stared at the lost light above him.

Shin released his left hand desperately into the light, while embracing Rin into his arms. Rin felt her bottom tense as they fell freely through the darkness.

The abyss where they had fallen was so deep, that it felt as if it had fallen into a pit of hell. And the light he saw was a portal to the world of the living. Because of someone he follows, Rin drops a massive tear as she begins exploring the dungeon.

The hole was so deep that they continued to fall after that small prick of light shrank in vain. His entire life flashed before his eyes, with no sound at all except for the roaring wind falling towards the depths of the abyss below. No one can help them, the only hope is life or death.

Before actually touching the bottom of the labyrinth, at least he wanted to apologize to Nene, all this time he never answered his feelings and always hung them. But the opportunity was lost when Kiriga Shin began to give up and thought that this might just be fate.
