Shin recalled the words he had said that night. It was a promise Shirasaki Nene had made to Kiriga Shin. 

"I will protect you, Kiriga-kun."

When he remembered those words, Shin felt that he was sorry and sad. If only, one day if they could meet again, that was when Shin would lower his head and apologize.

"Shirasaki-san.." he said softly.

Rin widened her eyes that she was surprised. He quickly concluded that Shirasaki Nene expressed her feelings for Kiriga Shin that night. 

Unknowingly Rin pursed her lips and said.

"The boy was quite whiny, but I was very sure. I'm a whiny, weak and unreliable girl. Even when I cry, I can't stop."

Shin clasped his hand and continued. Rin lowered her shoulders, her hands shook and lowered her head because all Shin's words were true.

Shin placed his hand on Rin's forehead. Rin did not push the hand, and let him measure his body temperature. His forehead feels burning.

"Your fever is bad. You'd better get some sleep this time. I'll prepare a mattress and futon for you."

"Eh."

Depleted of his usual strength, Rin gave an honest answer by nodding.

After the mattress and futon is finished. Shin immediately lifted his body and placed it on the bed.

"K, why... You're doing this for me?"

She fell onto the bed after Shin took her to the bed. 

His head was placed on a pillow, his whole body was placed in a straight position. Although he usually acted violently, he was now exhaling a painful breath.

Shin did not reply, he covered Rin with futons.

He turned around to look for some of the materials needed to make the thermometer. He didn't know if it worked or not, but there was no other option to try it.

"It's better if you check your body temperature properly."

Shin was about to give her the thermometer. However, Rin had mistaken him.

Rin took off her red tie and blazer. Despite being in front of Shin, Rin tries to unbutton his school uniform. However, he did not have the strength to do so. His hands were weak and trembling.

"Open your mouth."

Listening to Shin's words, Rin slightly opened her mouth.

Shin gently placed the thermometer in the gap between his lips which let out a few weak and hot breaths.

Rin did not even have the strength to hold the thermometer properly so Shin helped for her. The thermometer displays a number slightly higher than 40 degrees after a while.

"40 degrees, bad is too high. Give me a minute."

Then Shin went to fetch some water, and returned as soon as possible.

He was too weak to get up, so Shin helped him to sit down. He holds a cup in Rin's mouth and lets her drink water. It was hard to let her drink everything so Shin gradually poured water through the cracks on her lips.

"Haa..haa..hah~"

It seems that even drinking water is too tiring for Rin, as she leaned on Shin, Rin let out a heavy sigh. This level of helplessness was unusual for him.

"Your body is sweating…"

"At that time, my family wasn't rich enough to send me to medical school. Then I was told, if I agreed to marry you, then she would finance the needs of my medical school. That way, I thought I could take care of my mom without having to pay any hospital fees, but ... "

At that time, he got word from the hospital that his mother died in a state of illness.

Shin immediately cut it off.

Shin immediately pulled the futon.

"What are you saying!" snapped Shin. "I can't leave my wife in trouble!"

Rin's eyes shook, her face flushed red.

Is there some kind of medicine in this place?

Shin looked around him towards the left and right quickly. But he did not find any kind of medicinal plants there. His face looked so panicked and trembling. 

Then, it crossed his mind.

When he realized that the potion was a healing medicine, Shin immediately opened his suitcase bag and picked up some. 

He thoughtlessly smacked his hand against the floor so hard that his hand bled, then immediately drank a bottle of potion and waited for a while.
