That day was monday. It was a very sad and exhausting day in a week. 

As usual Shin came later than the others, people thought that he was always late to come to school for staying up late. But in fact, there are several factors that he should avoid.

After the long holiday ended, this April Shin began to enter the new school year in his second year. To begin with, Shin had to attend the opening ceremony and officially become an upperclassman.

However, Shin deliberately did not attend the opening ceremony this year. As said earlier, there were several factors that he should avoid.

In general in Japan, the method of people going to school consists of two basic variants. Walking, or cycling.

The walking distance from Shin's home to High School is not too far away, so he can still take his time on the way, but when he has to work after school, Shin tends to use a bicycle.

Shin walked away from the red light intersection with a row of buildings behind him as the school building he knew began to be seen.

While in front of the school gate, there were two students in the same uniform, one with a large body and the other with a tall body. Both of them had trained postures and were no match for a Kiriga Shin at all. Unmistakably, the two students were acquaintances of Kiriga Shin.

They are Shin's classmates who like to truant and often intimidate him because he looks weak. Even so, Shin did not have the strength to fight back and ended up obeying them rather than getting sick.

From the front of the school gate, someone called out to Shin in a loud voice.

"Oh, aren't you Kiriga?"

He should have realized, that they would never miss him even though this was late from school hours. Shin was deliberately late to avoid morning events like this. But they stubbornly waited for Shinnya's arrival.

"A-ah, Tanishiro-kun, and Yorikita-kun as well."

"Yahoo, as always you're late huh?"

One of his friends, Tanishiro showed an evil smile like he wanted to commit a criminal act. Shin seemed to be evading but he could not escape or ignore the requests of his friends. If not, then he will enter the class with pain.

"Y-well, what can I do."

Unilateral exchange. Shin gave some of the tuition to Tanishiro.

Tanishiro smiled widely. 

"Sorry, yeah." 

"Woh, Masbro we bang Kiriga is great!" Praise Yorikita.

"We will return it later. Sooner or later, maybe. If there's a nyebelin at school, tell us, yes. Let us beat up!"

The man is in front of me.

"See you later! Kiriga-kun."

Tanishiro and Yorikita come out of the school gate and truant. They looked happy, but on the other hand they were looking for someone to beat up. That was what made Shin somewhat afraid of them.

Why do all the students hate Shin? The answer is pretty simple. Shin was closer to the most popular primordial girl in his class. Shirasaki Nene's. 

When talking about Shirasaki Nene. She is a kind and gentle-hearted girl. For some reason, Nene smiled more sincerely when she saw or was near Shin.

As usual, Shin barely managed to arrive just before the bell for the first period rang. Somehow, he managed to calm the sleep-deprived body and opened the door to his classroom. He found himself on the receiving end of many scornful gazes and yelled resentfully at the majority of the students once he set foot in class. None of the students seemed too happy to see it. 

It would be nice if they just ignored him, but also gave a contemptuous look. Shin did his best to ignore his classmates and go to his seat. But as usual, there were some students who could not resist the opportunity to disturb him.

"Yoo, Kiriga-kun! Staying up all night playing eroge again?"

"Wow disgusting. What kind of loathsome vandal stays up all night playing eroge?"

All the men laughed out loud, somehow as if they found the statement amusing. One of the students is Orihara. 

"So soon stop that. Class will soon begin, so return to your seats."

"Curtain, goddamn class leader!"

Amanogawa Jun's. Very good class leader. He said something amazing. Some of the students could not find the words to refute him.

Due to the warning from Amanogawa, Orihara and the group with her moved away from Shin's seat and returned to their seats.

From a distance, there were a few girls in the class indeed looking towards them where her amazed gaze was only on Amanogawa Jun. However, Amanogawa was not aware of this. It was precisely Kiriga Shin who realized it, immediately turned his gaze in the other direction and thanked Amanogawa.

"Amanogawa-kun, thank you."

"You don't have to thank me. After all, this is my duty as the leader in this class."

You really have a lot of courage. And you even talked about football. After talking about football with that refreshing phrase, its popularity is multiplied 2 times, no, 4 times. Look, look, all the girls near Amanogawa have hearts in their eyes.

Like this, Amanogawa Jun becomes the central figure of the class, and will probably attract everyone's attention until we graduate.

Shin smiled wryly. 

"You're really great, Amanogawa."

"Eh?"

Deep down, he also wanted to become a figure like Amanogawa Jun. He really has a lot of courage to talk and be open with anyone.

"Jun, can you teach me how to do this job?"

"Ah. sorry. Looks like I have to go there. See you later, Kiriga-kun."

Amanogawa moved away from Shin's seat. Meanwhile, not long after, a girl came to greet him.

"Good morning, Kiriga-kun! You barely made it in time today either. I think you should at least try early." 

One of the girls smiled softly as he approached Shin. She was one of the few people in the school who treated her well, and was also the reason why everyone hated her.

Face stiffened.

"A-ah, good morning, Shirasaki-san."

Shin stiffened as he felt the bloodthirsty gazes of his classmates, and he replied awkwardly to Nene.

Instead, Nene smiled happily as she looked at him. 

Why do you always see me like that!? 

Shin was desperate as he felt the gazes of his classmates burning him.

Shirasaki Nene, one of the most popular girls in school, is very beautiful to be considered a goddess by many. His long, black hair reached to his waist, and his big, alluring eyes were filled with kindness. Her petite nose was perfectly raised on her face, and her pink lips were the epitome of perfection.

She always had a smile on her face, and her ability to take care of others combined with her strong sense of responsibility made her one of the most respected students in Shin school. 

Moreover, he was tolerant and understood a mistake, to the point where no one had ever seen him look unhappy before. And, for whatever reason, Nene took an interest in Shin.

Most people think Shin is a terrible student because he always sleeps in class because he often stays up late 

(actually, he did not really stay up late but to avoid events like this morning. So this Shin deliberately came late to his school on foot). 

And since Nene always looked after the other students, they were sure that was the reason she talked to him.

"What about your job today, is it done?"

"A-ah, looks like it already is, maybe."

Nene changed her face and put both hands on her waist.

"I want to check it out. Here let me see your duty."

"Y-that's right…"

Shin was very confused. She did not understand why the most beautiful girl in school cared about a man like her. To him, it seemed like there was something more than just a natural trait to help others. He must be convinced this is a one-sided misunderstanding that can involve feelings.

Of course, she neither expected nor was arrogant enough to believe that Nene might have a romantic interest in her. Shin handed over his training book to Nene. 

Nene grabbed the book with her soft fingers and immediately opened the task sheet Shin had been working on. 

After examining all the answers Shin had worked on, Nene was somewhat surprised that the entire answer was correct. Then smile and say something in a small voice.

"Ah~ if this is the case, my chance will be lost..."

In the classroom, Shin did not really clearly hear what he said because in his class it was always like a market. However, Shin saw that Nene must have said something earlier. He also asked.

"Did you say something earlier?"

The question made Nene surprised. Did he hear it? That was the first thing that came into Nene's mind.

"U-um, it's nothing." Nene smiled sweetly.

Again he always shows his good nature at all times. Honestly, if I may wish I wanted him to realize that you are one of the reasons why everyone hates me right now! 

Shin shouted inside his head. However, when it comes to Shirasaki Nene is an exception. 

Actually Shin had a lot of respect for Nene as his classmate. He also fosters some romantic feelings towards her and sometimes Shin is groggy when talking directly to her. Moreover, as we know that it was Nene who always took the initiative to approach Shin.

"I'm so grateful for one class with you again, from now on please help Kiriga-kun!"

"A-ah, me too. From now on please help, Shirasaki-san."

Nene smiled happily as she looked at him. Instead, Shin felt his heart beating start to irregular. His face turned red and then turned him away.

Oi, what's wrong with me. Why did you turn your face away from her!?

On a different side, from a distance, Amanogawa clicked his tongue in annoyance.

As soon as Shin finished his conversation with Nene, a new person approached them. He looked like a vulture, waiting for him to finish talking. Among those who are said to be 'better people' maybe this one is just the opposite.

"God. Meet him again to talk to failure like he spent a lot of your time, Nens."

The one who said it was a bit cliche was Yuasa Rin, the vice-chairman of the class as well as his closest friend Shirasaki Nene. Yuasa Rin had brownish red hair tied with a ponytail. His shaped eyes gave him a rather sharp look, but deep within his gaze, there was a kindness that made him look cool rather than cold.

However, Shin did not like girls like her much more than Shirasaki Nene. 

"Rin, you shouldn't have to say that to Kiriga-kun."

"But, Nens, I can't let him continue to waste your kindness. An otaku maniac, late and up late, he's the worst."

His sharp words directly made Shin feel annoyed to hear it. He was less willing to hear that humiliation by a girl like her than the others.

Regret, and annoyance could not be contained anymore, Shin declared himself wrong.

"Good morning, Yuasa-san. Heh, well, you know what they say, you reap what you sow. It's my own fault to always stay up. I'm sorry, yeah." Shin smiled wryly as he greeted Yuasa Rin. 

Rin glared sharply at him, their eyes meeting as if burning like fire.

"If you realize it's a problem, shouldn't you be trying to fix it? I don't think it's appropriate for Nens to let him spoil you. So, I want you to be more self-aware."

"What are you talking about, Rin? I talked to Kiriga-kun because I like it."

The whole class huddled to hear the remark by the school goddess.

If looks could kill, Shin would have been killed a hundred times more than the sharp gazes he had gotten from the students. They gnashed their teeth as they glared at him, while Orihara's group stepped back and began discussing what place was best to pull Shin during the lunch break.

Yuasa Rin was surprised to make his eyes not blink though.

"Huh...? Ah, so. You're very kind, Nens."

Then Rin stared at Shin's two eyeballs very intensely. Shin did not turn his face away, instead he became confused.

"What is this time?"

"Huh," Rin let out a heavy sigh. "I'm sorry. I took back my words."

Meanwhile, the bell that signaled the start of the class finally rang, and the teacher walked into the classroom. The teacher started the morning announcement, which seemed too used to the turbulent atmosphere in the classroom to care. Then, as usual, Shin drifted into dreamland as the class began.

Nene smiled as she watched Shin sleepy and fall asleep. Rin gazes at the two strangely, and contemplates that Shin is really famous in a sense. The men ridiculed him while the girls stared, staring full of scorn.
