The Dark Secret of the Actress

The Dark Secret of the Actress
Chapter 18 RGSA - Quitting Can, Surrendering Don't ^^

While living in Valdes, Catalina has always been herself. While living in London, he did the same. He does not care about the feelings of others and does not care whether what he says hurts them or not. To him, thinking about the feelings of others was exhausting. Just like if you keep listening to what people say. Equally exhausting. And for him, it doesn't help much.

The only way is to ignore them. Ignore what they say, ignore what others think of us. They don't know anything. They don't know what we're going through, don't know how we're fighting, don't know how hard it is, they won't care. So, closing your eyes and ears is the best option to choose in order to live life calmly.

"Aren't you angry?" ask Julie. He remembered the last time he met Tatiana. When they were cover models with Lexus. The three of them are believed to fill the cover of the magazine with the theme of 'togetherness'. And it became their last cooperation because a few weeks later Tatiana had an accident and was in a coma.

Julie's voice breaks Catalina's daydream. He puts his shoulders. "Why should I be angry?" There is no harm in speaking honestly. To him, it was even a thousand times better than full of falsehood. Behave well yet behind the stab, praise but behind the scorn, is not such accursed behavior worse than an animal?

Julie laughed a little. "For some reason, I feel like you're different" he said.

Eh? Catalina.

Seeing the change in Catalina's expression, Julie hurriedly explained. "I mean, you're bolder and more confident. Also, you're a little cold and indifferent. I don't know if you're feeling the change or not. But, honestly, I like you now." Although indifferent and unfriendly, at least he no longer saw Tatiana's disgusting naivety. Too plain, not good either. Yes, everything must be in accordance with the measure to be balanced. If less or more, it can ruin everything.

Catalina smiled faintly. She did not expect Julie to think so about Tatiana. But there is nothing he can deny. It's reality. Tatiana, she's sweet and naive. She could even imagine Tatiana running in a flower garden with a big smile like a child in a short dress of floral motifs fluttering in the wind.

"Hey, are you daydreaming?" ask Julie. He tilted his head slightly, waiting for an answer.

Catalina flinched, then shook her head. "Someone can change, Julie," she replied, responding to Julie's question about her change. And yes, it is not Tatiana. Their differences are clearly far away. But he won't make that distinction too clear. He will disguise it as disguised as possible and make people think Tatiana's change makes sense.

When Julie was about to say something, her manager waved her hand, asking her to come. He nodded before looking towards Catalina. "I think I should go now."

Catalina nodded. "Uh huh's. Good luck."

Julie smile. "You too." Then he stepped away.

Catalina sees Julie leaving until her silhouette disappears in the crowd. Not yet able to turn his face, Nick was already standing next to him. When she turned her head and found that the man's face was very close to hers, Catalina was shocked. "God. You surprised me." He almost hit Nick because of reflexes. Fortunately, he was able to stop his movements in time. Otherwise, he's afraid one eye Nick blackened like a panda.

"What do you see?" Ignoring Catalina's words, Nick asked this question. He looked towards Catalina looking at it. But he didn't see anything interesting.

"I met Julie" Catalina replied, not covering anything up.

Nick's forehead wrinkled. "Julie?" There were some Julie he knew. And there were some Julie that he included in the information document he gave Catalina. So he didn't know which Julie the girl was referring to.

"Yes, Julie Purman." There were indeed some Julie that Catalina had to remember. However, even though their names were both Julie's, other than their last names, their faces and figures were much different. And it's pretty easy to memorize all that.

"Oh." Nick's lips formed the letter O, looking disinterested.

Seeing Nick not scolding her and not even seeming to care, Catalina was a little distracted. "You didn't keep me close to him, did you?" He deliberately set up a little bait. Want to see how much difference Nick treats himself and Tatiana.

Nick shrugged his shoulders. "Why should I?"

Catalina raised her eyebrows. "Didn't you do that to.. Tatiana?" He whispered as he mentioned the name 'Tatiana'. After all, she played Tatiana, it was impossible for her to call herself by her name. Although she was quite certain Tatiana did just that, yet she did not want to be childish by calling herself by her name.

"You and him are different," Nick answered flatly as he stepped away towards the casting room.

Catalina goes after Nick and aligns her steps. "What's different? We're both girls."

"You two are different." Nick refused to explain. For some reason, he felt Catalina was setting up a pass and waiting for him to misspoke.

"Shut up!" snapped Nick. He could no longer bear the chattering of Catalina that filled his ears. "Take your queue number and sit there quietly." Nick crammed his queue number into Catalina's hands and then pointed to a row of chairs waiting for the queue number to be called. After that he pushed his back.

"Hey, hey, hey, I'm not done talking yet." Catalina refused to be pushed by Nick. "It's called coercion, you know?" He almost got something. If all stopped here, he wasn't sure he would find a moment like this in the future.

"It's not coercion, it's an order."

"What government? It's obviously coercion."

"It's up to you to interpret it."

"In that case, I refuse" Catalina said.

"You're not allowed to refuse." Nick also confirmed his words. "Here you go, sit down, and wait for your number to be called." He pressed Catalina's shoulder and Catalina sat down angrily. "good. Be good." Then Nick steps away, leaving Catalina on the verge of exploding out of anger. But the girl had to hold back because there were a lot of people watching.

If it was the former Tatiana, they would not need to do such a troublesome casting. The offer came and he just needed to choose a suitable role. But because Tatiana had a fatal accident and just woke up from a coma, many people doubted her ability. Be they casting to get a role.

But for some reason, Nick felt casting was no big deal. If they did not cast, he did not dare to let go of the girl without seeing her abilities. She's not Tatiana. She was Catalina who knew nothing about the role world. So, casting is the best option to choose to see how good the skill is.

***

Thirty minutes later.

"How's it?" nick asked as soon as he saw Catalina out of the casting room. Although he believes the ability of the girl is not bad, but the director who will direct the series is a perfectionist old man. The man always paid attention to the cast from all sides and looked for gaps to scold him.

Just one thing was not right, he could scold everyone who came. An artist loses his confidence.

Tatiana has starred in a series directed by the man twice. And so far, Tatiana has rarely gotten into trouble. For the beginning it may be difficult, but if you get used to it, it is no longer a difficulty.

Seeing Catalina's lethargic look, Nick suspects that things are not going well. Yes, although it was not good news, yet he did not intend to scold her. He would comfort her if she really failed.

Catalina raised her face slowly. Then he smiled widely. "Well guess?" Although the director is a fierce and perfectionist, then why? In the end, they had to applaud when they saw his incredible acting.

Nick touched his chest, sighing in relief. "Damn. You scared the shit out of me. I know you'll make it." Although Catalina did not say anything, she knew the girl had succeeded.

Catalina's smile grew wider. "Oh yeah? I thought you were underestimating me?" Seeing how Nick looked at him earlier, he knew Nick thought he was a failure. If not underestimated, then what?

Nick shook his hand. "Forget over! The important thing is that you succeed" he said. "Now what do you want to do? You want to visit him?"

Catalina nodded. "Uh huh's. Let me drive."

"alright. You're gonna drive," Nick agreed quickly. "You already have a SIM, so it doesn't matter." Although the real owner of the SIM is Tatiana, Catalina plays the role of Tatiana. Even if Catalina made her own SIM, she couldn't possibly use her own name. So, borrowing Tatiana's property, it's no big deal. After all, Catalina's driving skills weren't too bad.

"Again" replied Catalina. "But before that, they want to meet you and talk about the contract."

"Then wait for me in the car." With that one sentence, Nick ended the conversation and walked away.

Seeing Nick's hasty departure, Catalina shook her head. "That guy, always moves fast when it comes to money."
