Sitting on the sofa, Catalina's gaze did not move in the slightest from the skinny figure lying on the bed. The girl was silent with her eyes closed. There was no sign he would wake up. Even if there were no breathing aids and others, Catalina was pretty sure it would be difficult for her to survive.
But, such a beautiful girl, how could it possibly be so helpless? Wh why? What's problem?
Thinking about it, he became sad.
There are many things he missed. A great deal. And he regretted not being a part of his life journey for the past thirteen years.
If he had been there and accompanied him, would the future have changed? Could it be that bad things will not happen? Could it be that her Tatiana was still as cheerful and happy as before? Could it be that Tatiana had not fallen into the valley of sin and used illegal drugs?
What kind of depression is he?
How bad was his life?
"Catalina." Nick's hoarse voice broke the silence.
"Emm?" Catalina flinched from her daydream. He looked up and looked at Nick. His eyes flickered rapidly for a few moments before fully arranging his thoughts. "What's wrong?" tanyakanya.
"Is there something you're thinking about?" Nick swallowed back the words he wanted to say. Instead, he asked this question.
Catalina nodded. "Uh huh's. There's a lot I think about" he replied. It was very numerous and filled all the space in his head. There is almost no empty place to think about yourself. All filled with Tatiana.
Nick immediately understood what that meant. He nodded slowly and his gaze landed on the figure of the girl lying on the bed.
The room where Tatiana was being treated was not close to another room. It is far and hidden. Very rarely do people get to this place. Except for coming to see Tatiana.
This room has a slightly different design. Although there are sofa sets and others, but like intensive care rooms in general, this place has complete medical equipment. That's what makes this place a little creepy. Not to mention the sound of "BEP BEP" that was heard, making the aura of death more concentrated.
A patient lying in an intensive care room is not necessarily going to die. But seeing how Tatiana is now, Nick honestly lost his confidence.
Nick is not sure Tatiana will wake up.
The fatal accident injured his head. Even the doctors were not sure of his recovery. When she wakes up, she fears the girl is paralyzed.
"So, what's the plan?" tanya Catalina then, said straight to the point. He is not a person who likes to talk and waste time discussing something that is not important. What is discussed, must go directly to the point of the problem.
Nick jerks. He hesitated for a moment before asking. "You sure you don't know?" Catalina's not a stupid girl. Bringing her here, there was no way she didn't know what her motive was. Nor is he a fool, such a question, why would he answer it?
"I need more details" he replied. Catalina already knows, but she needs a more detailed explanation. Coming here, it was impossible just to meet Tatiana and accompany her. It's not all that simple. Replacing his position, was the biggest one in his mind. Then find information about what really happened. But besides that, what?
What are his duties?
What's he supposed to do?
Should he be as similar as Tatiana? Should it be a duplicate? Mastering all his abilities, imitating his behavior, and becoming him completely?
"For now, you only need to stay here for a few days, depending on when the Doctor lets you go home" Nick said. Tatiana had just woken up from a coma, for comatose people in general, it should take at least days or even weeks for a gradual recovery. But since Catalina played that role, three or four days should have been enough.
And yes, Nick will make the Doctor make the most realistic reason about Tatiana's condition so as not to make any party suspicious, including Tatiana's adoptive family.
"You take it easy, he'll just be moved to another room. He'll still be hospitalized."
Catalina breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank God. At least you didn't throw it away." Even though it's impossible, there's no harm in thinking so, right? After all, people's thinking is very difficult to guess. And human habit, they will worship something that can make money and then throw it away if it is useless.
Although Catalina doesn't think Nick is that cruel, he would rather anticipate than improve. As the saying goes, get an umbrella before it rains. Regardless of whether it will rain or not, at least have prepared an umbrella.
Nick glares. "What kind of man do you think I am? Am I that cool?" He did not expect it to be that bad in Catalina's eyes. But he cannot change the perception of others about him. How else, he hires mercenaries to hunt Catalina, then they weaken by beating her. He built the bad image himself. If Catalina had a bad impression of him, he would admit that it was indeed his fault.
"Yes, did you just realize it?" Didn't Catalina tell you that Nick is a psychopath? Hunting down a girl then beating her, what bad image is there for Nick other than a psychopath?
Nick shook his hand. "Here you go, don't talk about it anymore. The more I talk, the worse I'll be in your eyes." The point is, now that he has not done anything like that, he has changed. Problems in the past, can't the girl forget about it?
"Without being discussed your image is already ugly and honestly, you will find it difficult to change the image you have built." When she got a look of doubt from Nick, Catalina nodded slowly. "Trust me, I've learned a lot of social science." Although he studied social science but what he actually learned was economics, not psychology. So what he said was just something he wanted to say. Whether it's related to human psychology or not, he doesn't know, and he doesn't care.
"I told you not to talk about it anymore!" Nick's voice is rising. "You really don't listen to me." He's really angry right now. This unlucky girl, really knows how to piss him off.
Catalina chuckles. Teasing something that irritated Nick, it turned out to be quite fun. Especially when he saw the man's face red with anger, he really couldn't bear to not pinch his kidneys.
Catalina averted her gaze, looking back at Tatiana. "So, should I stay here and sleep there?" In Tatiana's bed?
Nick followed Catalina's gaze, then shook his head slowly. "Why sleep there? You're in recovery. You should stay in the inpatient room." That makes sense, right? Tatiana was already conscious, why continue to lie in the intensive care room? Isn't that suspicious?
"Oh." Catalina's lips are rounded to form the letter O. "Thank God," he said.
Nick looked around, looking around. "After all, do you think it doesn't matter if you stay here? I mean, isn't it a little gripping here? I'm not sure you dare stay here." That's what intensive care is like. The place reserved for patients with serious circumstances had complete medical equipment and for him was quite creepy. Although not as scary as rumors, but still the paradigm of intensive care is quite scary.
Catalina smiled obliquely. "What in your eyes do I look like a coward?" If he was a coward, he could not have lived in the creepiest apartment in the district. Most who live there are poor parents or young people like him. The rental price is the cheapest because it is said that the building is haunted.
Many people commit suicide because they can no longer live in poverty. And it's not just a rumor. The woman who lived beside her room, jumped off the roof and died a terrible death.
Catalina even remembers how the woman died. That's very creepy. At the time of the incident, he was only sixteen years old. He could not sleep for a few days and sometimes stayed at his part-time job so he did not dare to go home.
But it only lasted about three or four days. After that his life returned to normal as if nothing had happened. As if the previous one was scared instead of her.
And the second floor is the one that most often people see sightings. But Catalina lived on the second floor and for many years she always went home and slept late at night. He often heard women crying, footsteps, falling things, but after making peace with the situation, he was not as scared as when he met a bad person. At least, ghosts don't bite. As for humans, they can kill in many different ways.
"No. You don't look like a coward" Nick replied. Fearful, cowardly, loser, those traits don't exist for Catalina. In addition to being independent, grumpy, rude, and annoying, Catalina does not have the slightest bit of character that a girl should have.
"Yes, indeed, I'm not a coward." Catalina's voice weakened as the word came out. But that was before, he continued in the heart. Now there was something he was afraid of. Something more terrifying than anything. That's losing Tatiana.
But Catalina immediately dismissed that thought.
Who said he would lose Tatiana?
The fear of losing Tatiana was just his imagination. In reality, Tatiana would continue to live. That girl won't die no matter what.
