The one who came to pick up and was in charge of dropping off at the airport was Nick's confidant.
She was a girl who might be twenty-five years old or maybe even less than that. She's young and beautiful. Her appearance wearing only a tank top, camouflage pants, military boots, and potluck-tied hair on the back made Catalina squint, suspiciously.
"What's with your look? You don't blink when you look at him. Do you like her? Do you like girls?" Nick said as he looked at Catalina with a mocking look.
"Where did you get that niggling idea? Do I seem to like women? Although I've never been in a relationship, I'm a normal girl, I like men, you know!" Catalina is upset. This cunning man, always deducing something at will by himself.
"Hey, if you don't, why are you angry? Relax, man." Nick patted Catalina on the shoulder as a way of comforting.
"Do I look angry?"
"Yes, you're very angry" Nick replied. "Look, you're gonna spit out lava."
"Bas with you!" Catalina punched Nick's arm slowly and glared at him. "I'm just wondering, is he your guy?" Instantly Catalina lowered her voice to avoid the girl from hearing it.
"Uh huh." Nick nodded. "Why?" Since Catalina's intention was Stacey, he turned his gaze and looked at Stacey. But the longer he watched, he felt that there was nothing strange about the girl.
"You're sure he's just a driver?" Catalina asked carefully. Rather than the driver, the girl looked more like a bodyguard.
"Who said he was just a driver?" nick said. "He is the one who will protect you from now on. Even if she's a woman, don't underestimate her abilities." Nick patted Catalina's shoulder again. "Let's go in." Nick got in the car first.
Staring at Nick in a daze, Catalina also got into the car and sat down next to the man. "Why?" tanyanya.
"Why? You really still asking?"
"Can't you?" Catalina hooked up her seatbelt and the car immediately drove away from the condo to the airport.
"Eh." Nick berkehem's. "I'm sure you already know, but it's okay, I'll explain it again." Nick paused his sentence. "After everything that's happened, are you sure you're still safe?" The Atkinsons will hunt Catalina wherever she goes. If he does not strengthen his safety, his safety could be threatened. And he didn't want that to happen.
Although Catalina is very annoying, but as thick as she is, she will still protect and take good care of her.
Catalina rolled her eyeballs then shrugged her shoulders. "Okay, I'm not sure. But I'm pretty sure I can protect myself." Atkinson's family may have had many ways of arresting him, but he was pretty sure there would be no murder.
If they wanted to capture him, they would want him alive. So, they will not use extreme means that can be life threatening. At most they would just beat him up and drag him back to that unlucky house.
"You can't."
"I can."
"I like your confidence, but I don't want to take the risk. Tatiana has been quite a hassle, I don't want to be bothered anymore" Nick said.
Nick's words instantly silenced Catalina's mouth. I wanted to answer, but Nick was right. Tatiana was already quite troublesome. If he ignores her words and something bad happens to her, she will definitely weigh on Nick even more.
That way, Catalina immediately agreed to it and did not argue anymore.
It was silent for a while until Catalina's voice broke the silence. "Nick," call him.
"Emm?"
"How old are you?"
"Nearly twenty-six years. Why?"
Catalina rubbed her chin and watched Nick like a pervert. "You're so young."
Catalina chuckles. "Yes you're right, I'm a few years younger than you." Although Nick is much older than him and a few years younger than Sehan, Nick seems much more mature than Sehan. Perhaps it was because he lived on the streets that his skin color became slightly darker and his body was slightly taller.
His casual appearance, slurs and what it is makes him look like a bum. But even so, compared to Sehan, Nick is much more fun. The man was cheerful and talked a lot. The man also smiled a lot and was a little silly.
"Nick's."
"mm?"
"May I know why you care so much about Tatiana?" ask Catalina. This is something that makes him very curious. On what basis does Nick care about Tatiana? If the reason was because of their relationship as artists and managers, he would not believe it.
Nick's loyalty, far beyond the loyalty of a manager.
"Can't I care about him?" Instead of answering, Nick turned the question around.
"Can't not. You're being too suspicious." To be honest." Catalina did not cover anything about what she thought. To him, Nick is truly mysterious. "M.. Do you like it?" Catalina added.
Nick's dumbfounded. He looked at Catalina and the next second chuckled. "I like it? Don't joke." Nick really doesn't understand how Catalina thinks. And he had no idea where such a ridiculous idea came from in his mind.
"You keep calling her name when you're drunk" Catalina chimed in. - chapter 24-
"really?" Nick rolled his eyes, trying to remember. "Even calling her name, she might not be what I mean." He looked away and looked out the window. His voice grew colder as the words were thrown and his expression was a little complicated.
Despite not understanding, Catalina still nodded. "All right, I get it." Indeed, there are many names of Tatiana in this world. Maybe it wasn't Tatiana his twin sister whom Nick meant, maybe she was another girl.
Catalina tried to carve out that statement even though she honestly didn't believe it very much. But because Nick doesn't want to talk about it, he knows when it's the right time to stop finding out about other people's personal lives.
***
Catalina doesn't know what kind of man Nick is.
The man just drove him all the way to the airport then darted off somewhere. The flight was thirty minutes away. If in thirty minutes Nick doesn't come back, it's certain he'll just go with the girl Nick brought along.
"What's your name?" catalina asked the girl sitting next to her in the waiting chair.
"I'm Stacey, Miss."
"Alright, Stacey. Can you not call me miss?"
Stacey thought for a moment. "I'm sorry, I can't seem to" he said later.
"But I feel a little uncomfortable with the call." Despite being uncomfortable, Catalina knew enough not to push. Because if he's not called 'mona', then he knows he'll be called Tatiana. Rather than being called by the name Tatiana, he felt the call 'miss' was still much better.
"I'm sorry, Miss." Stacey apologized again.
Catalina took a long breath. "No need to apologize, I understand." Everything Nick and Stacey do, he knows all too well for his good. It's funny if he keeps complaining about something trivial.
Remembering something, Catalina reopened her voice, "You know what happened to Nick? Why is he so weird today?" And that weirdness has been going on since the last conversation about another Tatiana, Tatiana who is not her twin sister. From then on the man's behavior became strange before he finally went out of nowhere.
"Not that I don't want to tell, but I don't understand myself either." Stacey is just one of the many subordinates Nick has. And people like them, are not allowed to know or find out about the lives of the higher-ups of the organization. So, he really doesn't know anything. And if he knew, he wouldn't tell either.
Catalina rubbed her chin. "That's it, huh?" Stacey's answer made her even more curious. What secret is Nick hiding? Can he know it someday?
