The Destiny of a Substitute Mother

The Destiny of a Substitute Mother
Chapter 121 Companions of Life

They finally returned to Kane's old residence. The holiday is over. Along the way Dee more daydreamed and fell silent. Kane could only sigh deeply and drive the vehicle they were using.

When they arrived home, the children immediately welcomed their arrival.

"The rabbit I put behind the house, can't I?" ask Jason enthusiastically.

Kane nodded. Dee himself daydreamed, not paying attention to his son. He was busy with his messed up feelings. The thing he did not expect his presence to exist now and re-enter his life.

"Said Patrik will be made a big cage by Papa, right?" asked Jason again who was focused on his Papa not paying attention to his mama who looked sad. Unlike Jesper who saw the change of Dee's attitude. Her mother always looks cheerful in front of her child, now looks different.

Kane nodded in response to Jason's question with a smile, while looking at Dee who just went to his room.

"Why mom, Pa?" asked Jesper who saw his mother look sad, he looked worried. Jason was surprised to see his mother who went up the stairs without saying hello as usual.

"It's okay. Maybe just feeling tired, Mama you guys need a little rest. You guys don't bother him just yet, yeah!"

"Would my mom be sick?" jason asked with a worried face. But it still looks cute, coupled with his cheeks that are now increasing contain make anyone who sees will be anxious.

Jesper seems to think. What did her parents meet when she left that made her mother sad? He looked suspiciously at his Papa. Did they fight?

Kane bent one leg back to level with his two sons.

"Darling, your mom's fine just needs time to rest."

"Papa didn't argue with Mama, did he?" search Jesper. Kane chuckled at the worry on Jesper's face.

"It's not what you think it is, son," he rubbed Jesper's head. Jesper still could not calm down to hear it.

"Papa's got some good news for you."

"What, Pa?" ask Jason enthusiastically.

"Your grandparents want to come" Kane said.

"Amah?" jesper chirps, he doesn't like the old lady. His affection seems insincere, Jesper can feel it.

"Yes, Amah and Akung are coming, what brings the toys again?" sela Jason is excited.

"No, but Mama's mama" Kane replied.

"Mama's mother" Jason repeated. She had never met her mother, she thought.

"Jason has Mama, Mama has Mama too, right, well she's your Grandma."

They both nodded.

"Jason never met Grandma."

"Hmm later you can meet him, but not now."

"All right, Jason's gonna wait."

"Is she as good as Mama?" Jesper doesn't want to have a grandmother who is like his Amah anymore.

"Yes, she's as good and beautiful as your Mama."

Jesper breathed a sigh of relief.

"I was curious about Mama's mother" Jason said excitedly.

After ending the conversation with his two children, Kane went to the room to meet Dee. He went inside. He could already guess if Dee would definitely be in the bathroom.

Kane opened the bathroom door and saw Dee sitting on the edge of the bath-up facing the window. On the other hand, the shower faucet is left to flow profusely.

Kane shuts off shower. Then he approached Dee and extended a hand.

"Will you trust me and share the burden with me? Don't you take it yourself. There I am ready to hear all your grievances and your sorrows."

Dee's tears trickled back, she wiped them off quickly.

"Your face is wet" said Kane. He holds Dee and takes her to his room.

"I'm not a kid you have to carry on" Dee said.

"As long as I can, I don't mind doing it. Maybe if we're decrepit, I won't do it again."

Dee smiled in tears. Kane went to pick up Dee's shirt and came back in a light house gown. He helped Dee do it even though Dee refused.

"I'm always sad when I see you hiding your sadness from me, thinking whether you don't believe me or doubt me" she said.

Dee sighed. "I just don't usually share with anyone."

"Then from now on get used to sharing your feelings with me" Kane said. She put the house dress in Dee's body, then put the wet clothes into the dirty laundry basket.

Kane sat down next to Dee and pulled Dee's body into his arms.

"When do you know everything?" ask Dee.

"Yesterday. To be honest when I saw Aunt Linda, I always felt familiar with her face. I guess it might just be a coincidence."

Kane was silent for a moment.

"She's a good woman."

"A good woman will not throw away her child. Akh, you know what it's like to be occupied by your parents" Dee continued. Perhaps it was because of their similar fates that the two felt that they were a match for each other and in need.

"But Aunt Linda is different from my father or my real mother. I know him well. She's a gentle woman and cares about everyone."

"But not his son!" cold Dee toilet. She hated it when Kane told her about the woman's kindness. Hearing his name made his ears hurt.

Kane sighed.

"We listen first to the reason and then you can make a decision. Maybe he had a reason that he had to give you to an orphanage."

"Can a woman not endure suffering for the sake of her child? If so, it means she's a selfish woman for abandoning her child for her own happiness" Dee said.

"I get it, but if he wants to apologize and start everything over, don't you want to give him a chance?"

"I don't know. All I know is, I hate him so much." Dee turned her face the other way. For a moment they were silent.

"Dee give me a little time to talk to him. After that, I'm sure you know what you have to do."

"Kane I...." Dee wanted to refuse but Kane put an index finger on her lips.

"Whatever bad she is, she's your mother." Dee hugged Kane by the neck and placed his head on the man's shoulder. Inhaling the scent of Kane that could always calm his heart. Right now he needs a place to lean. Fortunately Kane provided time, heart and soul for him. He was so grateful for that.

"I said this because I know Aunt Linda is a good woman. If she's a bad woman, I'm the first one who'll keep you away from her."

"Thank you, Kane." Dee let go of her embrace and looked at her husband. She felt better after talking to her husband.

"You're not just my husband, you're my protector and friend who listens to my grievances."

"It should be, right?" kane.
