Chapters. 32 Past Kane
Dee actually hates Kane only after meeting the Kane family, there is a pity that suddenly appears in Dee's heart.
Maybe Kane is like himself who longs for the love and affection of others. He hid the wound in his cold and arrogant demeanor.
He glanced at Kane who was staring blankly out the window, his body along with him but his mind drifted somewhere.
The man sighed then turned to the bed and lay his back to Dee.
"Do you know what it's like?" ask Kane.
"Don't know because all this time I've been living together with my mother and extended family at the parlour."
Kane breathed a heavy sigh again.
"So you know what it's like to be unexpected" Kane said, turning his body toward Dee.
Dee looked back. Suddenly Kane's curled body hugged Dee's waist and kissed her belly.
"But now I'm not alone because there will be two heroes who accompany me and I won't make them feel unexpected."
Dee hesitated to touch Kane's hair. Closing your eyes for a moment. His heart was watching all this.
Maybe Kane is not as bad a man as he thinks. He just needs a friend to share. Unfortunately, it wasn't him because he didn't love her.
"I was born out of selfishness" Kane said suddenly.
Dee listened carefully.
"My father and Aunt Cindy are a married couple who have everything, but no children. They are urged to get only because Yang's family needs an heir. They then paid one of the poor servants to conceive my father's child.
After the child was born, the servant returned to be a servant. He took a promise to my father to make her his second wife. My father is not confused. Cindy's aunt, who disliked her, offered the waiter some money to leave. The waiter accepted it, and he left.
While I was cared for by Aunt Cindy and my father well at first. Until when I was five, Aunt Cindy knew she was pregnant with David. After that he felt he didn't need me anymore. He ignored me, even threw me away. Told everyone that I drowned and was lost in the lake when I was imprisoned in the basement with all the limitations.
I can't leave that room until I'm eight. If I rebel then I will be tortured by Aunt Cindy or Dad. Be beaten, not fed for days, or doused in cold water in the winter. They seem to want me dead unfortunately I am still alive today.
After I got out of that prison, I met Mr. Jhon. He knows if I'm a pathetic servant's son.
I was small just to see how my parents spoiled David. Can't do much because if I tell everyone the truth if I was the Kane that they had us drowned then I would have killed them.
Until one day Mr. Jhon heard Dad scolding me and said that I was a useless child.
Mr. Jhon who had just lost his wife and child could not bear to see me treated like that. He took me to this country. His birthplace.
I'm angry and looking for Mr. Jhon to get here. Mr. Jhon apologized. But he who heard my story made a deal with my father. He will take good care of me here. If one day I can be a great man, my father can admit me as his son if not then don't remember if I'm still alive."
"Then you get up and prove that you can do it. Can you be a proud man?"
"Yes, initially Mr. Jhon became a farmer of oil palm plantations with land given by my father covering an area of one hectare. I helped cultivate it so that it could develop and could make small productions myself. After that all changed, our efforts slowly advanced so rapidly. Until I finally become like this."
"The thing that hurt me the most was when Aunt Cindy said that I wasn't her son with hate. The person you thought your mother and loved you turned into your enemy in the blink of an eye. Even you who are a child are forced to understand the situation. Do you know what it's like? It hurts."
Kane's body is shaking. The man who had been showing his strength and arrogance was nothing more than a lonely man who needed attention.
Dee started rubbing Kane's hair gently.
