CH. 8 – Strange Sounds

Li Xian laughed out loud at Zhou Fu's seemingly offended expression when Li Xian mentioned God's help.

“Alright, grandfather is waiting for you continuously these two days. Grandfather seems to be afraid if there is danger and grandfather is alone,” Li Xian said just to make Zhou Fu feel useful existence.

“Do not worry, Cake. I've been here with grandpa. Danger that yesterday, it seems fun also if it comes again.”

At the age of 14 years, Zhou Fu has absorbed many knowledge and techniques from his grandfather and teacher, Li Xian. Although Li Xian was already quite certain that Zhou Fu could be released into the wild, he still had to teach Zhou Fu some science. The problem was that Li Xian's health was deteriorating and he could not be sure if his age would last for the next three years. In anticipation of this, Li Xian had actually written down all the sciences that Zhou Fu needed to learn into a book. However, until the age of 14 years, Zhou Fu was still illiterate. He still could not understand the shape and arrangement of the letters.

Li Xian had already chosen not to teach Zhou Fu the science of literacy anymore. It was the wisest decision because if he continued to teach Zhou Fu, the island of Youhi would be in chaos as a result of the battle between the two humans, Li Xian was furious at his grandson and Zhou Fu who tried to dodge and sometimes also attacked his grandfather.

For several years living on the island of Youhi, Zhou Fu often got the task to hunt animals to the nearest island using a makeshift raft boat. Li Xian had Zhou Fu make his own raft boat in the hope that Zhou Fu would understand how to make a safe and convenient means of sea transportation.

Not infrequently, in the early days Zhou Fu often went hunting using a raft boat but returned by swimming because the boat was damaged in the middle of the road. Once, Zhou Fu went home hunting by swimming, but not because the boat was damaged but because the boat was full of game animals so he dragged his boat while swimming.

Zhou Fu's raft boat landed on a small island he had never visited before. He hopes to meet something new on the island, whether it's something called a threat of danger or other things he thinks are new enough to know.

There was a scream inside the small island. And the sound was enough to make Zhou Fu interested to come to him soon.

“Ah, that must be an animal sound I have never known! Her voice was strange and I had never heard before!”

Zhou Fu ran towards the source of the voice. He was very impatient to see how the shape of the animal with the strange sound, “I hope this one creature is dangerous enough that I can play a little,” Zhou Fu muttered while still running.

“Siapaun, help me…. Please drive out bab* this forest!”

Zhou Fu's eyes widened, he found a human! But man is strange, unlike his grandfather, unlike himself, not like the warrior he killed years ago. Zhou Fu had trouble finding where the strange man was, which he clearly felt was another and different.

“Don't be quiet, quickly help me, please.”

Zhou Fu scratched his head, as he remembered, the word please was only used if someone was in a desperate state or in a very dangerous state. However, the man in front of him screamed for help as a baby bab* of the forest swirled at his feet. It seemed that bab*the forest wanted to be spoiled but the human instead trembled like fear.

“You are deaf yes, quickly please help me get rid of this animal!”

Feeling that his ears were disturbed, Zhou Fu kicked the little beast with his left leg. The beast also seemed to have lost its life.

“You are evil once... He is still a baby!” The person whom Zhou Fu had helped now actually showed an annoyed and angry expression to Zhou Fu. Of course this made Zhou Fu even more confused.

But there was something else that confused him. He stayed for a while thinking about all possibilities. Unable to find an answer to his confusion, Zhou Fu touched the human before him right in the part that confused him. Zhou Fu asked, too,

“Is this swollen from pain? Why can it swell both?”

Zhou Fu touched one of the parts of the woman in front of him while wondering how could one's body experience swelling along with the exact same size of swelling.

NOOOOO!!!!

The woman slapped Zhou Fu with all her might, and screamed louder than ever. Zhou Fu complained in pain, asking why the man hit him. As he asked like that, Zhou Fu got a second slap. The woman was furious and took out some words unknown to Zhou Fu.

Yes, in fact, Li Xian's grandfather indeed seemed to have forgotten to give Zhou Fu knowledge about the creature named woman. It was the first time Zhou Fu had met a woman and it was natural to be confused by some parts of her body that were quite different from her.

“You are why? What did I do wrong? Usually my grandfather would just get angry if I made a mistake,” Zhou Fu asked in surprise.

Instead of an answer, it once again turned out that Zhou Fu received a slap. “If you are a good person, help me and take me home to Caihong!” the woman again said something that Zhou Fu did not understand very well.
