A laser-like white mist darted rapidly filled the arena in every direction causing powerful energy fluctuations to make the 7 humans standing in the arena retreat a few steps.
The sound of the spear pounding loudly. The flick of wind whirling in the air dispelled the view accompanied by a spinning spear emitting energy which caused the 7 disciples to avoid every movement of the spear that floated in the air and revolved like a slender preparing to slash them.
Liu Chang and Zhou Kui simultaneously stamped their weapons fending off the spears in turn. But instead of crashing, the spear managed to make them retreat a few meters due to the pressure that was too strong.
"Indeed worthy of being called an advanced professional," muttered Pei Xi who was depleted of receiving the attack of white mist then his body became a black shadow that darted swiftly fending off the sword that appeared in front of Mei Liena.
"Thank you." Mei Liena almost had her heart removed. Those seniors are too sadistic!
When Mei Lin'er's sword floated back towards them, a red ray flashed swiftly turning back the direction of the sword until Mei Lin'er had to leap back several meters avoiding the flying blade that had suddenly appeared.
Mei Lin'er gritted her teeth seeing Xie Ran smiling sideways at her. He was just about to continue the attack, Yan Yao's fan blocked his path until Mei Lin'er had to change course.
Yan Yao nodded at Xie Ran who was still standing watching the fight. Then his gaze directed at Zhong Xiaorong his hand swayed bringing out a pointed ice wall and towering upwards giving a boundary between them and those seniors.
"Rongrong, how long can your ice last?" Yan Yao asked.
"Not long." Zhong Xiaorong's gaze focused forward with his hands raised defending the ice wall.
"To fight 7 advanced professionals, at the most he could only last less than 1 minute." Xie Ran gave a detailed explanation. He's checked before. Es Zhong Xiaorong was strong, but still too thin due to his still low strength.
"One minute is enough." Pei Xi was able to respond as well as Yan Yao.
"Xiao Ran, the rest is up to you." Yan Yao responded confidently. As a strategist as well as a fight stopper, Xie Ran took an important role in the arena.
Pei Xi and Yan Yao immediately shot in two directions precisely towards the ice wall that had cracked it. Liu Chang and Zhou Kui were in the middle of the area looking at the increasingly cracked ice wall until finally the sound of shards rang out loud.
Mei Liena immediately gave pills to the exhausted Zhong Xiaorong. After that, the two joined on Xie Ran's side making Xie Ran in the middle.
Upon seeing the whereabouts of the 7 seniors, a colorful beam appeared in his seventh hand soaring to the ceiling.
Blue, green, yellow, purple, white, and gray soared concentrating the red light that appeared like a laser. The seven magicians quickly formed an intricate pattern in the air causing a crowded and stressful atmosphere.
The seven seniors were stunned to see such a large, colorful shadow patterned strangely in front of them. Zhu Que immediately realized something was wrong once he saw Xie Ran who was standing at the end and saw several flying blades darting like rain around the pattern.
The man shouted, "Create a combined barrier!"
The six of them immediately realized the same thing and directly followed Zhu Que's direction. Each of them took out a barrier as the pattern formed so that the fog filled the arena with drastic energy surges.
The situation gets more crowded once a large barrier is formed. Simultaneously, the intricate pattern formed moved like a shadow followed by a collection of flying blades that shot out rapidly raining down on the newly closing barrier.
The loud clashing sound boomed so powerfully right at the combined barrier filled with mist. The entire arena was covered so that Instructor Zhu and the Dean of the Academy who were watching could not see it clearly.
Silent....
No one knew what was happening in the fog as if nothing had happened in there.
"What's going on?" Instructor Zhu was flabbergasted. He thought the children would be severely beaten because of the cruelty of the alumni.
"I think someone has done something." Dean Akademi—Fang Tianzhi—takes conclusions. He could not see inside, but he could feel through his perception what was happening inside there.
In the next instant, several bodies bounced off the arena as if they had been hit by a powerful attack that was sent flying out from the fog area.
The three bodies bounced around so violently before finally the shrinking fog gave the two spectators a clearer vision. The most shocked here was Instructor Zhu.
"How is that possible?" The woman's eyeballs almost came out looking at the miserable condition of the arena.
The seniors were bowed just like that above the arena — in addition to the 3 seniors who were sent flying — in a sad state of utter defeat. Mei Lin'er, Zhu Que, Qin Zhangye, and Yuwen Yue both kneeled half a foot and looked limp over the arena with their heads bowed in shame.
The rest were Xie Ran and comrades who stood tall with triumphant smiles.
Fang Tianzhi suddenly stood up accompanied by an applause filled with excitement. He had seen a rare genius who had defeated an advanced group of professionals with an enormous difference in strength. Their cooperation deserves appreciation.
"Good, good, you guys are the golden generation of Tianshang Academy. With you guys, this tournament, Tianshang has a chance to win the first place." Fang Tianzhi was not stingy in praising. They indeed deserved to be called the golden generation which was a rare genius that had ever existed.
"Thank you, Dean Fang." The seven of them expressed their gratitude together and bowed.
Instructor Zhu stood up with a satisfied smile on them. Although he was a bit smug with the 3 men sent flying, he still admired the 7 children. "You've worked hard, today's training is over. You can go back to the pavilion."
"Thank you Instructor Zhu, Dean Fang, we're stepping down." Pei Xi represented his friends and left along with them.
But when they turned around, Fang Tianzhi's voice stopped their steps. "In the meantime, are you called Xiao Ran?"
Xie Ran looked over. After staring at all his friends one by one, he walked over to Fang Tianzhi who called out to him.
"If you may know, what did the Dean call me?" Xie Ran remained calm without thinking about many things. He was tired and wanted so much to rest today that there was no other spirit.
Fang Tianzhi glanced at the many pairs of eyes that saw him. Then his gaze fell back on Xie Ran. "Are you the team controller?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"Good." Pei Xi nodded before finally taking his friends out of the arena building.
Xie Ran and Fang Tianzhi went elsewhere letting Instructor Zhu take care of those poor seniors who had been beaten up. Many officers who brought those who were weak were immediately treated.
Xie Ran and Fang Tianzhi arrived at the Academy Dean's room. The room is so cool and quiet with a classic feel of the royal style. There are many ornaments on display on various sides as well as beautiful paintings exposed on the walls. Definitely expensive.
Fang Tianzhi stopped his steps. Turning around looked at Xie Ran who was shorter than him before finally his face became serious.
"Xiao Ran, is that really your real name?"
Fang Tianzhi's words made Xie Ran squint. "Is this why the Dean called me?"
"Not really. There are some things to say. One of them is this thing. Regarding your background, I've been checking it since you were chosen. Not just you, the others are the same. That's why I called you."
"Do you know my background?" Xie Ran did not intend to confess. He just wanted to test if the Dean of this one really knew his background.
"Based on what I got, you shouldn't be from an ordinary family. Your arrival to the entertainment club to become an apprentice dancer coincided with the day after the death of Young Miss of the Xie Clan was announced. In that time was also the right time to recuperate from the previous few days of the death of Young Miss of the Xie Clan."
"The Dean doesn't think that I'm Young Miss of the Xie Clan, does she?" Xie Ran remained calm without any worries. He actually made the Dean of one was shaky.
"Of course not. But it was originally. Now that I see you, my opinion is different" he said, wiping his long white beard. "You must be Miss Xie who is that heir. Your face is very similar to your mother's, your temperament is also similar to your father's, meticulous and wise. It's not wrong anymore."
"I'm sorry to offend, but that's not the right reason that I'm Miss Xie. Maybe all of those similarities are coincidences. After all, students just want to focus on learning." Xie Ran did not panic at all, but rather acted as if it had nothing to do with him. He himself was tired and wanted to rest, so did not want to think much.
"Well if you don't want to admit. But, can you explain how the Xie Clan's ancestral pendant is on you?"
How could he see? Xie Ran frowned and lowered his head to make sure that the liontan was invisible. He always wore it, but it was well hidden behind a collar. Only Ann Rou had noticed it before. Is this saint power?
Xie Ran felt unable to deny. The Xie clan's ancestral relics are only the chairman or legitimate heirs who can wear them. The rest would get an immediate rejection just like what happened to Tang Zhi.
"It seems that it can't hide anything from Dean Fang. Right, I am Xie Ran. Dean Fang is open-minded, I believe the Dean is being just as rumored."
Fang Tianzhi felt that this little girl was really similar to his parents. The fruit fell not far from the tree. He chuckled and nodded slowly. "Miss Xie, I called you because I wanted to discuss tournament strategy."
...ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ...
After a long talk with the Dean of the Academy, Xie Ran passed Pei Xi when at the end of the conversation and walked out of the room after greeting him. As the Dean had said, Pei Xi also had the same problem plus his position as the team leader that should receive the Dean's direction.
Xie Ran sighed and sat down at the end of the stairs while looking at the bustling front yard of disciples. He was tired, but lazy to the pavilion. The tournament was also getting closer so many people gathered at the academy to look forward to the day of the tournament.
The tournament will be held in Ye City, the hometown of Mei Liena. Ye City was also a large City where many renowned apothecary families were located. It took me a few weeks to get there.
"Xiao Ran, why are you here?" Zhong Xiaorong came and directly sat by his side while eating a snack.
Xie Ran glanced at the snack and instantly picked up some without permission as well as interrupted Zhong Xiaorong's protest. "Just bored."
Zhong Xiaorong clucked bitterly. "Well, by the way, the trick you used during the game, where was the inspiration?"
Xie Ran raised next to an eyebrow and looked at Zhong Xiaorong. "Trik?"
"Using a bit of Mei Liena's poison to paralyze them when Liu Chang's wind blew in an unwary moment. Then fuse 2 magic at once for your one flying blade, shadow and ice. Then Yan Yao's transformation attack on the pattern was also Zhou Kui's mist magic on the final attack to cover the view as well as an artificial explosion as if there had been a high energy fluctuation. You also seem to have a grudge on the other 3 that you sent flying."
Xie Ran looked at him blankly with his innocent eyes then chewed the snack back. "Just crossed it. It's called cooperation, not tricks. The Dean would have known. He didn't blame me, he said my strategy was good."
Zhong Xiaorong laughed. "I'm flattered. If senior knows your plan that makes them think there's going to be a big explosion that's going to have to make a barrier, I don't know what's going to happen."
"That's called smart." Xie Ran still did not want to be blamed for using sneaky tricks. "After all, using all that power to control your magic so as not to ruin everything, I have drained a lot of mental strength. It's worth the win."
"All right, I know. You're the best." Zhong Xiaorong kept laughing and embraced Xie Ran. This friend of his was very cunning and shameless. It's just so incredible.
"Now treat me so that my blood may increase. I still want to live." Xie Ran said it a little loudly right when Pei Xi came out of the room making the peia stunned. Did Xie Ran talk to him? That girl wants to be treated?
Zhong Xiaorong glanced towards Pei Xi then realized Xie Ran's stingy and *black-stuck mindset. He smiled 'sweet' at the man.
(*Shamelessness)
Pei Xi sighed. "You guys really...."
In the end, Pei Xi had to treat the 2 hungry girls. Both of them were the same as not eating for many years and instantly draining Pei Xi's wallet.
Xie Ran said; each battle his blood would be reduced and would have to be filled with food. So, every time the team finished fighting, Pei Xi had to finance him to eat until his blood was considered full.
After feeling that his blood had been filled, Xie Ran had a great time back in Tianshang City with various metals as well as returning to making spiritual weapons. He was thinking of making his friends a high-level spiritual weapon someday. So, he must continue to learn until he can.
If he asked where the failed spiritual weapon he had ever made, all of it he sold at a satisfactory price. Although it failed, it was still a powerful and useful weapon. Spiritual weapons fail just like the weapons of the famous powerful palace soldiers so the price offered is relatively high.
Once again Xie Ran was rich without spending much money....
