Ziya and Jane sat opposite each other on the gray sofa in the Villa's living room. A simple multi-storey building is across the beach front street. Villa that part of the wall is glass with some beautiful ornaments in some places.
Long enough silent, Ziya only seemed to be enjoying her tea after they shook hands. And Jane thought of something, curious about something she found just a moment ago.
“Itu—Is Max engaged?” jane asked a little doubt.
“Why did you suddenly ask?” instead of directly answering, Ziya instead asked back to her.
“I accidentally saw a photo of Max with a woman earlier.”
“Photo? Aw, ****. Turns out she still keeps it, all right because you asked, yes she's engaged.” The answer that makes Jane's heart rate weak, as if she wants to stop working. “But no longer, the damn woman went to leave him after getting what he wanted. ***** that, I really wanted to tear his face apart.”
“Hemm..” Jane was not sure what to respond to, the woman sitting opposite her seemed to be in bad emotions. But there was relief from that answer, at least the obvious one the man had no lover or anything like that.
“Then what do you want from him?” Ziya suddenly asked as he looked at Jane fixedly.
“You mean?” Jane frowning.
“Ck. Forget it, there's no way you're telling me.” Ziya turned his gaze away from Jane and remembered something.
“Ah, yes.. Recently I accidentally heard about you, I do not understand why you still remain with him after what his brother has done to you.”
Jane frowned at Ziya's question, she digested the woman's words. What brother? And do what? At him?
Ziya looked at the confused looking Jane “Don't you know? Really?” Ziya was stunned before smiling.
“Hemm. Maybe I should tell you, you should know. At least you can make the right choice after this, you can choose whether to stay with him or not. But that's if you don't want anything from him.”
“What do you want to tell me?” Jane looked at Ziya carefully.
“Alex, her twin brother Max. He harassed a girl 10 years ago, and I just found out that she was you. I didn't mean to find out but I just accidentally heard it." His words paused for a moment. "Sorry,.."
Jane was shocked to hear that, she did not expect that the incident would return to her life where such people would blame her. But she did not see the look of disdain in Ziya's eyes, the woman was simply demanding an answer to her choice. He was not judging her about the incident. Jane feels a little calm and tries to think positively about Ziya's view on her.
So that's why he's got his picture, and time at the bar. They also talked about dad. And while on the beach did Max ask like that because of this? L'm... Jane struggled with her thoughts.
The sound of the door closed again, Max came out of the room clean and tidy. She was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts, matching Jane's outfit. She just chooses and remembers the clothes Jane wore when she met him on the stairs.
“So what's your choice?” Ziya desperately wanted an answer.
“Optional? What are you guys talking about?” max asked as he arrived beside the sofa Ziya occupied. Sontak makes him stand up because of Max's presence. Jane stood up too.
“No.” He answered briefly, smiling at Max.
Max took something out of his pants pocket, Villa's key. “For you,” said Max while thrusting the key at Ziya who was still glancing at him.
Ziya immediately stood up to accept it. “Really? This is for me?” ziya asked as if in disbelief.
“Your wedding gift.”
“Ah sorry, I didn't mean—.”
“I'll wait in the car,” Jane said before passing away. While Max looked at Ziya suspiciously, and the woman simply shrugged her shoulders a sign of ignorance.
“Jane,” Max calls Jane and follows her. Leaving Ziya there looked at them on the backs of the two of them.
“I hope you choose soon, I also wonder what you want from Max,” Ziya said after her body returned to sitting on the sofa.
Just in time, Max grabs Jane's hand just before the woman opens the car door.
“It's not like you think, really—.”
“I believe.” Suddenly Jane hugged him. “And I won't leave you.”
When the hug made Max confused, he was curious about what they were talking about to make Jane like that. Max hugs back Jane's body, “I won't leave you either.”
**
Halfway through, Jane no longer falls asleep. His eyes stared focused on the path that was in front of him. He wanted to ask, he wanted to know. But he doesn't know where to start.
“Looks like you were close to that woman. Is he your ex-lover?”
“No, he's just an old friend. Wh why? Looks like you're thinking about Dye and Ellen again. Take it easy, my mom and dad are dead. I don't have a half-brother.”
“Sorry, I didn't say it like that. It's just that he kissed you. So I thought you guys—.”
“Haha, you take it easy. There is no such thing between me and him.” Max said as he grabbed Jane's hand, he was driving with one hand. Max slips his finger together with Jane. “Are you jealous?”
Max's gaze filled with mischief made Jane nervous, coupled with a soft squeeze in her hand. “Not—I'm not jealous, why am I jealous.”
“Alright,” instantly Max takes his hand off Jane and focuses on driving with his two hands. The man's touch left a warm sensation in his hands. Jane was disappointed, she was disappointed that the man had let go of her grasp.
“Then do you have a former lover?” jane asked, she looked at Max with focus. The man was silent enough to make Jane have to wait for the answer.
“Punya, we even got engaged. But he suddenly left and disappeared.” Jane felt that, She felt sadness and disappointment from Max's tone. He knew what the man was feeling. Although it seems that Max's injuries are more painful than him who was left by Dev because he was engaged to another woman, plus his love did not get a reply from the beginning. Abandoned by fiancees who already share grief or abandoned by people who have nothing to do but have a sense of. Which is better?
"Hemm, don't you know why he left? Did you guys fight?"
"Eitherway. We're fine, but maybe because I didn't pay enough."
"paying it? Why did you pay him? Isn't he your fiancee?"
Max stopped the car immediately, parked the car on the edge of a quiet street. And the beach swish sounded clear as soon as he pulled over. Max looked at Jane, the woman seemed to demand an answer from him. The answer to why he had to pay someone who would become his fiancee? What does that mean?
