The Price Of Sincerity

The Price Of Sincerity
Disillusioned

Two weeks went by so quickly for Shara and Tom. They came back from the Maldives, they set out together and it looks like they are still back together. Not three, maybe God still has other plans in their marriage. Maybe not yet. She just arrived in Los Angeles three hours ago, and now she's in Jane's apartment with a lot of stuff.

Jane returns to her apartment as soon as Ziya's manager comes to pick her up for her agency, possibly to solve her artist scandal. Devan came to bring him back. And it was that man who contacted Ziya so that they could be in that place right now. Because Ziya had posted his latest photo at Villa Max, fortunately Devan can think quickly when he heard the sound of the waves when his phone call with Jane connected.

It's been a few days and yet she's not getting any news, Max never sees her again not even contacting her once. Jane asks Dev for extra time off, of course allowed. He was not focused on getting back to work. Maybe in a week. He hoped that a week would calm him down. It can calm his soul and body.

Shara comes to Jane's apartment with a variety of souvenirs that she carries, whether it's true she goes to the honeymoon or goes shopping to spend her money. He bought clothes, jewelry and even brought a lot of food for Jane. It's like a parent buying their child after work. Until Jane could not speak.

But Shara finds the atmosphere unnatural, Jane is not as usual. As she remembered, she would be excited every time she brought her cake, but now she did not see the slightest happiness from Jane. Since he knew Jane well, something must have happened while she was away.

“You okay? Is there a problem?” Shara sat next to Jane who was watching a show on television, not usually she was watching it. What he watched was a weekly drama. Even before this Jane almost never turned on her television, touching it just doesn't. Shara thought the television was broken.

“Hemm. A lot happened, it seems I do not deserve to be happy.” As his voice weakened and his head bowed, the television remote he was holding slowly fell to the floor. She was crying, Jane was crying. Shara quickly approached and hugged him.

“I'm here, relax. Tell me something. What the hell's going on? Is it because of the man you were close to recently?” Shara stroked Jane's back, instead of being calm, but the woman cried even more. His tears came out so fiercely without stopping, like a heavy rain that never ended.

It took a few minutes to calm the heartbroken woman, the woman who for the third time love relationship did not go well. It even seems to be the last. He doesn't want to, and he doesn't intend to like anyone anymore. That's what's on his mind now. Shara cut the cake she was carrying, and fed it to Jane who had begun to calm down and could be talked to.

“So what did he do to you? Does she have a boyfriend? Or is he married?” ask Shara.

“Entahlah. I'm not sure. But for sure they are the same, solve everything with money.”

“They? Whatchu mean? Wait are you talking about Dev? Or.. what's his name, Ah Max?”

“Not. Dev can't be like that. Although he is rich but he will not play around with his money.”

“Then?” Shara frowning.

“Alex..”

“Hei. What's wrong with you, why are you suddenly calling it.” Shara grabbed Jane's hand. She is scared, she is anxious because Jane suddenly mentions the name of a man who gave her a dark past. A name that is strictly forbidden to be called.

“I met him, I saw him again.” Jane squeezes Shara's hand. His eyes seemed to be glazed with tears that did not want to go down. “Maybe a coincidence. Or I don't know, I really don't know why I saw it. Or maybe because they were brothers,” Jane took her eyes off Shara. He looked towards the table.

“You mean Dev and Alex brothers?” Shara was still confused by what happened.

“Shara, please. How could Dev who was an only child have a brother. Max and Alex, they're twin brothers.”

“But that's not the problem.”

“Then?”

“Do you remember if Alex solved his problem by giving me money, he seemed to pay for my virginity back then with his money.”

“That bastard, how could I possibly forget Jane. I think he's a good guy for going to school in a famous place, ah stupidly I didn't investigate first and let you guys date. I was really sorry that Jane.”

“No, you didn't do anything wrong Shara. I'm the stupid one to innocently accept the love of a high school student just because of first sight. But I don't want to talk about it, it's about Max. I just found out she's engaged and her fiance left her.”

“Really? It turns out that my instincts are right, that handsome guy is indeed suspicious. Then where's the problem? Doesn't that mean she doesn't have a boyfriend now?”

“Not so, his fiancee left because she reciprocated the sincerity she received with her money.”

“What? Money again. Why do the rich judge everything with money, ah I don't think with them." Shara exhaled her rough breath into the air. "Luckily Tom is not that rich to be able to boast his money,” Shara seduces Jane to melt her atmosphere.

“Yes you are indeed lucky.” But it turns out she was wrong, Jane looked glum again.

“Hey come on, that's not what I mean.” Shara embraces Jane. “Didn't you take another week off, how about we go on vacation?”

“I don't want.” Jane detaches herself from Shara's embrace, she takes back the television remote that fell to the floor and starts watching again. Shara takes it and turns off the television.

“I don't like rejection. Do you really not want to go with me?” Shara looked at him with a hopeful look, making Jane unable to resist.

“Hemm.." They stared long before Jane nodded in agreement.

“Oke, this is good. I'll buy the plane tickets, you pack your things. We will find the earliest departure today.”

“What? Pack up? Where are you taking me?”

“Cute only. Hurry up let me help pack your things.” Shara pulls Jane up from the couch. The two walked to Jane's room, to the closet in the corner.

The truth is Shara packed instead of Jane, the woman seemed busy picking and stuffing her beloved model clothes into a purple suitcase that was already wide open on the bed. While Jane was just sitting sweetly beside the suitcase. He had no idea what made Shara so excited. But he clearly felt that whatever the woman was doing was for him.
