The Price Of Sincerity

The Price Of Sincerity
Sibling Relations

Dewy bathroom divider, a sign someone just finished wearing it. Max came out of the bathroom with a towel around his waist. Appears his body which still leaves a water circle on his skin. He walked to his desk, picked up his cell phone. He called someone, even though water dripped one by one from his wet hair onto the phone. He doesn't mind it.

Connected calls.

“Find Lery in Indonesia, bring her to me.” Max's orders on a man who's his interlocutor. The man obeyed Max's orders with a heavy and slightly raucous voice. Call disconnected.

“You think I won't know Dye, just until here you play hide and seek with me. I'll finish it all right now.”

Max walked away from there, leaving his wet cell phone behind. Of course the phone will not be damaged by water, it is impossible. Max goes to the dressing room, he picks up a small towel hanging on the door and rubs his head slowly, to stop the water falling from his hair before drying it out with a hairdryer.

The long mirror there shows a handsome man in a charming office suit, with a white shirt and gray pants. Coupled with the new Max haircut makes himself look dashing, only the side hair is new while the top is still the same. Under Cut's. One small push for his tie made his preparations well established.

Another one, a gray suit that matches his pants. He almost forgot about it. Max opened the closet full of his suit hanging there, he chose a matching gray color. But the movement of his hand came to a halt when he heard the sound of the door beeping open. Looks like he's a guest not invited.

Justright. Devan suddenly appeared in the doorway of his dressing room. Staring at himself with an expression of dislike, Max could feel the intense heat coming out of the man's body. But Max responded casually.

He took his suit in the closet, removed it from his hangers. “Why are you in my apartment so early in the morning? Do you want to talk about something important? If not, we can meet again. I had an important meeting this morning.” Said Max while wearing his coat glazed in the mirror.

“Kau—,” Dev clenched his hand. He walked towards Max. And it seems like he intends to hit the man. Max could see it from the reflection of the mirror, he immediately twisted his body welcoming Dev's arrival. He was right, the man indeed wanted to hit him, but the punch was hovering in the air. Not regarding. He dodged quickly.

But it seems Dev is desperate to land the punch on Max's face, he lays out his second punch. And failing that, Max endured the blow with his palm. Their eyes glared, Max stared intently at Dev. “If you're only here for that woman, you better leave now. I don't want to talk about it.”

Silent, Dev's rushing heartbeat sounds faint. He was surprised by Max's reply, he was surprised by the words that came out of the man's mouth. Just two days ago the man confessed his love, and now he doesn't seem to care?

Max throws Dev's hand, his gaze clearly a warning. Max walked past his silent self. But his steps stopped when Devan stated something that sounded absurd.

Max turns his body back to Dev. “Haha, what a joke is this Dev. This is not the time to make such a joke. How could she be your sister, if you had a sister even though she might still be in school right now. And Jane?”

Drrtts. Drtts. Max's phone is ringing. But he ignored it, they continued the conversation.

“For what I lied to you. If she is not my sister, she is the woman who stood beside me at the engagement not another woman.”

Drrtts. Drrtts.

“I don't understand, how could that happen. He's your brother, and you're his brother. That is impossible.”

Drrtts. Drrtts. His phone was endlessly ringing, Max couldn't stand it. He ends up delaying his conversation with Dev temporarily to answer the incoming call that contacted him from earlier. And it turns out it was Dye. He asks Max to come to the office immediately because his business partner from Asia has arrived at his office. But Max can't just leave Dev after hearing what he has to say. Max asks Dye to buy time.

The soft sofa in Max's room felt cold as if it had never been occupied, it seemed like the AC of the room never died. Max and Devan sit next to each other. He asks Dev to explain to him as briefly and clearly as possible because he cannot linger. But only half of the story he heard Dye had called him again asking for Max to be there immediately. As Dev continues his story on the way to Max's office, they sit in the passenger seat and Dev tells the story.

The story is finished as soon as they get to the office, but Max asks Devan to wait for himself in the Director's room. Max's Room. The top of the AVC company where they are now located. After hearing the situation, there was something Max had to talk to Devan about his sister. Devan was waiting there while Max was meeting in the meeting room.

Devan Smith and Jane Morgan. It turns out they are the sister of one mother to another father. Their mother, Jessica Perl. She was married to Devan's father, Dominic Smith. They are only friends and never in a relationship, but they make mistakes while drunk. They sleep together, and Jessica gets pregnant, making them have to get married.

But the marriage was done in secret. They moved to another country to raise Devan, but they couldn't. They cannot create a family, the feeling of friendship they have cannot be turned into love. Jessica and Dominic decide to divorce, and Devan is taken in by Dominic because Jessica is not at work. They separated until they lost communication.

Two years later, Jessica married William Morgan Ruth. Jane's Dad. Jessica worked at a Cafe after her divorce, and William was a regular customer of the Cafe. Fate makes them fall in love, a feeling of love that he can't express with Dominic. But it turns out that at the same time, Dominic also married a woman who became his secretary.
