The Queen Of The Demon World

The Queen Of The Demon World
14. Laurie The Malang

“Who--- Sstth.” The man grimaced while holding his wound, he wanted to attack Ethelyne but due to his injured state. He could neither move nor swing the sword at his waist.

“Don't worry, I don't want to hurt you. The poison in your body has disappeared, but somehow. Your wounds are not healing.” Ethelyne held her chin. “What because I use the Spirit of darkness huh?” mumbles slowly.

“Who are you? What do you want from me?”

Ethelyne stared innocently at the man in front of her, she tilted her head while twitching cutely. “I don't want anything from you, ah. I remember! I need rubies, you know rubies. The red stone is loh.”

“I know, but why do you want it?”

Ethelyne again held her chin thinking hard, she glanced at the man in front of her and smiled sweetly. “Because, I need it to make something.”

“Something? Will you ... make this thing?” The man showed me a necklace with a pendant of amethyst.

Ethelyne snatched the necklace and watched it closely, she glanced at the Man with a probing look. “Where did you get it?” asked in a cold tone, there was no more friendly Ethelyne.

“Why should I tell you?”

Ethelyne clenched her hand holding the necklace until the pendant shattered into pieces, inside the amethyst was a transparent stone with a blue-black aura inside. “Tersoon then, then instead. I'll take this.” Ethelyne stood up and walked away. “Ball your wound well, because if not. You'll bleed to death.”

‘Why is this stone in the locket belonging to the man? Who wants to hurt him?’

“Master!! I'm back!”

Suddenly, Laurie appears in a loud voice and almost leaves Ethelyne shocked to death.

“Huh, I thought you were already dead to the prey of a wild animal,” Ethelyne said in a cynical tone, she stuffed the stone into the pocket of her robe and stood up. Ethelyne threw an empty basket beside him. “As a punishment, fill this basket with herbs to the full. If you fail to run a mission.” He smiled sweetly but was horrified.

Laurie swallows her saliva, she curses herself who just leaves because she is attracted by the melodious voice that runs in her ear to forget the job given by the employer. With a huff, Laurie took the basket and started looking for herbs.

‘At least it can make him deterred at once so lessons so that he does not go without saying goodbye, but the most important thing now is this stone.’ Ethelyne took out a stone in the pocket of his robe and looked at him fixedly, the color of Ethelyne's eyes turning red little by little.

Ethelyne grasped the small stone. “Who is after the man's life to use the curse stone? And even more, where did he get it. A curse stone like this was only in the demon world, and moreover. Only in a special mine that can only be entered by people from the palace.” He's clucking. “Who exactly is that traitor and why did he use the curse stone on that man?”

Accidentally, the stone in Ethelyne's hand broke. That blue-black aura instantly vanished just like that, Ethelyne gritted her teeth. “I will definitely find out the traitor who is the cause of excessive hatred against the devil! I promise you that!”

Three days passed quickly, Laurie had a day filled with torment. Every day he was told to collect two baskets of herbs, cook, take water, make a fire, collect fruits, and others.

Meanwhile, Ethelyne was leisurely sitting under a shady tree leaning back and staring at Laurie who was back and forth fetching water from a river 100 steps away.

“Master, forgive me. I will not run away again,” Laurie said as she knelt in front of Ethelyne with teary eyes.

“Master,” Laurie's whine, tears streaming out and wetting her cheeks. “Huaa ... Master!! Please forgive me this useless, stupid, and troublesome!!” screams loudly.

Ethelyne covered both ears. “Shut! It's free that you pretend to cry, your punishment will still be the same. Do it soon or you won't be out of the woods.”

Laurie clucked, she stood up and walked away while stomping her feet.

Ethelyne just looked at him flatly, she closed her eyes and tried to relax. But the boundless chatter that was spewing from Laurie's mouth continued to disturb her concentration, she opened her eyes and looked around. However Laurie is nowhere near him at all, Ethelyne tries to cover her ears and she gets a satisfactory result.

‘Stop babbling or I'll rip your mouth off it!’ inner Ethelyne was upset.

Laurie who kept on babbling in her heart gasped, she turned around but found no one. ‘M-master, k-why can I hear your voice?’

‘How do I know, maybe because we've been connected since childhood. That's why I can hear your inner voice even though you are far away and in human form.’

‘Huhu, Master. Finally we can communicate remotely.’ Laurie cried a hiccup, she wiped her tears with the sleeves of clothes.

‘Whispering! If you cry one more time, I won't let you be human again!’

Ethelyne took a deep breath, for a long time she had not felt the peace she had always longed for.

Suddenly, a dagger flew towards Ethelyne. However the girl dodged and made a dagger stick into the tree behind her, Ethelyne opened her eyes and stared flat at the men from the man she helped three days ago.

“You are very concentrated yes to the point of not being aware of my presence.”

“What do you want?” ethelyne asked directly, she stood up and pulled out the dagger on the tree. “Looks like you're not a killer.”

“Oh come on, have you forgotten?” The man handed over the amethyst that Ethelyne had asked for three days ago.

The girl was flabbergasted, she looked at the man in front of her in disbelief. “Where did you get this amethyst?”

“You don't need to know, for us. It is easy to take something even a human cannot have at once.”

Ethelyne frowned. “What ... do you mean by that?”

The man in black clothes smiled meaningfully. “Nothing means, it's just. Our master wants to meet you, so please come with us without a fight.”

Suddenly, Ethelyne was surrounded from all directions. The five robed men he met had surrounded him from five directions, Ethelyne watching them at a glance.

From what he could deduce, they carried hidden swords and daggers. In addition, there was a poison powder hidden in one of the pockets of the black-clothed person. Why Ethelyne knows, the answer is Dragon Eyesight. Though it can see in the dark, actually. The original function of Dragon Eyesight was to be able to see from a distance (depending on magic energy) and also to be able to penetrate anything that blocked his vision.
